After attending two concerts, this week, I have faith that decency in people is not all lost. We met the nicest and polite people. There was no standing up in front of people and no vulgarity or indecency.
At the Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis concert for disabled Vets we arrived early at Tioga Downs, near Binghamton, N.Y. , to try the Early Bird Buffet. There was a large crowd. We stood in line for almost 45 minutes. No one seemed to complain. Oh sure, some jokes about the delay were made, but nothing of concern.
Greg and I chatted with 2 elderly ladies in front of us and an elderly couple behind us. When the hostess asked if there was a group of 4 the couple behind us , Sheila and Bob, asked if we would mind sharing a table. So, we shared one.
What a great idea that was!
At first the conversation was just polite conversation. Then, some small comment was made that made all of us aware that we shared the same ideas. Ha! Obama was not on their favorite list and yet, that was not the only thing we chatted about. We talked about hard work and how it builds a person’s character. We talked about self pride and how that reflects on the way we treat others.
