Obama will be headed to Tennessee to assess flood damage.

Newt, I never know when to keep my mouth shut, Gingrich is not backing Paul Ryan’s reform plan and states that the plan has gone to far.

Newt needs a good dose of his 1994 way of thinking.

Please pray for Israel. Once again its borders are being threatened.

Here we go…a new week. I hope it’s a good one.

Hot Air has the video of today’s dustup:

Netanyahu says that “history is not giving the Jewish people another chance “. Just wow.

My main goal in writing this letter is to highlight what I consider to be the central problem that I have observed and experienced in the North American Church, which is the lack of the faithful preaching of the Word of God. Article 29 of The Belgic Confession of Faith identifies this as the first mark of a true church. The Westminster Shorter Catechism (Q & A 89) clearly states, “The Spirit of God maketh the reading, but especially the preaching of the word, an effectual means of convincing and converting sinners, and of building them up in holiness and comfort, through faith, unto salvation” (emphasis mine). The pure and unadulterated gospel of God’s grace is a nonnegotiable priority for the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is my experience that this is true. Often, the exposition of the Word is viewed as something to be endured and not as the joyful highlight of the Worship service. I hear “Worship and the sermon” as if the worship through musical expression is the only true worship (and even more so if there is clapping and body wiggling although we have ONE only recorded instance of David dancing before the Lord). I hear the terms “worship team” and “auditorium” instead of “church musicians” and “sanctuary”. Often these days a church doesn’t even have “sanctuary”, a special room set apart for the worship of God. They have a “multi-purpose room” as if corporate church worship is but one of equal activities which are scheduled for that room. In and of themselves, these are small things, but together they illustrate the lessening regard of the US church for the preaching of the Word of God.

/soapbox now. Don’t get me started on whether or not women are scripturally called to be pastors (they are NOT).

This article is EXACTLY right. Thank you for calling it to my attention. Yes and AMEN!

    • Jemian says:

We’re putting together another newsletter this weekend. I do believe I’ll recommend that in the letter and I probably am going to excerpt it and link to it on the website. The pastor is correct.

Yes, it did strike a resounding chord with me!

MONDAY, the youngest and a few of her closest friends and female relatives are going to descend on a BRIDAL SHOP here. They’re having a sale. I do have the silk for my dress and when she picks her gown, I’ll see if I can copy the embroidery for use on my dress. We’ve ordered her shoes from online. She found a pair which runs over $100 on sale for $20. We’re beginning to pull together music and discuss flowers.

All this now, but we don’t know when the wedding is. The army has changed the groom’s orders and there is lack of a clear time table. So, we’re getting things together so that we can easily (!) put them into place when the opportunity arises. The possible dates have switched over this week to any time from August through next June.

The youngest is already going crazy.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Glad you found the article worthwhile reading Jemian I just ate the whole issue up, it was so good.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Jemian says:

Thank you for breakfast. It looks great! My anger is moving back and forth between anger at caligula for throwing over our best and most reliable ally in the ME AND anger at the crazy US Jews who overwhelmingly supported caligula and did this to themselves. I said somewhere yesterday, will they willingly climb back into the cattle cars?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning lysie, all thanks for breakfast…yesterday was pretty nice…more showers today

Jemian Last night I read an amazing, powerful letter from an African pastor to the American churches. This was published in “Modern Reformation” which I get…If I can find the letter online, will link it for you as you’ll appreciate it too I’m thinking.

    • queenie says:

Good morning. Thank you for the substantial breakfast, lysie.!

Hope Netanyahu gives Zeroman (PUTZ) what for.
I have two Jewish friends. They are very conservative and always have been. They are smart!

    • queenie says:

      Molly: Sending sunshine your way.

  3. mustknowhistory says:

I had these crazy nightmare last night that 0 gave a speech that destroyed Israel’s security and created great turmoil in the Mideast. Sure glad it was just a dream!

  4. Prairie says:

Unbelievable how Zeroman throws our best ally in the ME under the bus. OTOH, totally believable.

    Good night everybody.

    • mustknowhistory says:

Does anyone know what o really did say? You can color me completely confused as I have read so many contradictory accounts of his speech…

    • Jemian says:

I am outraged at it and want to rage at my Jewish friends, “See, I told you so.” The man is a moslem and hates Jews and isn’t to be trusted and … RR.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

0’s giving a “big” speech tonite about the ME

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Jemian says:

      Good morning! Breakfast looks refreshing.

I’m still waiting to hear about the evaluation of the MRI. I was told to give it at least a week. Big sigh.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Thanks for the breakfast!

Computer “issues” this a.m., but I’m here at least…

Couldn’t get to my radio station for live streaming…

    • queenie says:

Good morning. Thanks, lysie. Love the China.

      Still planting here.

My computer does that, too, sometimes, Molly. Usually works after a restart, but sometimes I think its a ‘radio’ problem.

  7. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody, I’ve been working steadily to get us ready to head north and haven’t been able to be here.

  8. The Raven says:

Welcome back MP—–we left you a backlog of work here –Hah!!

I wonder (after the Boston Herald incident) if O is afraid of losing MA to Mitt — I suppose Mitt has the ability to take a few blue states.

  9. lysie says:

Ah ha!! Now I know why Nita hasn’t posted, she’s hiding from Michelle O who will be giving a commencement address at West Point.

    Run away away! 😉

  10. lysie says:

    Great links, Molly, thanks.

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • queenie says:

Just replied to yesterday’s breakfast. ;o/

    • Molly Pitcher says:

lysie, everyone good morning & thanks for the Mother’s day greetings a few days ago!…

Spring, minus the warmer temps, has certainly arrived here ….azaleas blooming, hostas huge already, and the various coral bells, astillbe, etc. accelerating their growth.

    • lysie says:

      Good morning ladies.

Yes, spring has arrived. Birds are singing beautifully outside my window and the hummingbirds arrived right on schedule.

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Jem. How are you feeling?

Speaking of that Nita, how are you feeling? Did Zay have a good b’day?

    • queenie says:

      Good morning.

Wondering about how you’re feeling, too, Nita. I had something for THREE weeks. Never felt so sick without having a fever. Energy is just now returning, but I still have to stop and rest some in between activity.

    • queenie says:

      Good morning.

Thank you for breakfast, lysie. Enjoyed jtill’s quilt story.

Did you hear about your MRI, Jem?

Nita….How are you feeling? Took me forever to get rid of the virus or whatever it was. Couldn’t shake the TIREDS! Sleep as much as you can, sweetie. Know it’s a busy time for you at work, which doesn’t help. (((((Nita)))))

  13. mustknowhistory says:

My computer got a dreadful virus last Friday. Had to take it somewhere to get rid of the virus. The computer was ready for pick up today, but the virus destroyed all my files.

Have spent the afternoon restoring my programs and what files I had backed up.

Ugh. Why do people do such things?!!

  14. The Raven says:

Well, cross off Newt in the “Hunt for Red November”

  15. Jemian says:

This is a shot of the spaceshuttle Endeavor as it awaits liftoff at about 0856EDT. This is the last flight for the Endeavor and the second from the last shuttle flight.

  16. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Jemian says:

I’m sorry. I meant to put the picture of the shuttle below your breakfast. Ooops! Thanks for the breakfast for today.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome.

    • queenie says:

      Good morning.

    • lysie says:

Hi , quennie. It’s been raining for a few days, here. I hope it doesn’t rot the corn seeds that Greg planted.

    • queenie says:

Paul Ryan was on local Chicago radio this morning. He said that Gingrich obviously does not know how bad our financial situation is in reference to what he said on a Sunday show yesterday. Ha!
They talked about him running for the Senate, but the best part was that he didn’t say he would DEFINITELY not run for Prez. Just said he wasn’t planning on it.
I could get really excited about supporting him for Prez from what I know about him so far.
