Mitch Daniels has declared his non-candidacy, while Herman Cain says he’s in…

Michele Bachmann is closer to a decision, while Sarah Palin remains silent, and speculation moves to a Rick Perry promotion.

2011 is nearly half over….Help! Send Help Quick!

In other news…the gardening section of the local paper advises a significant rise in plant diseases due to the very wet spring.

  1. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

Breaking free of leftism while working in show business is like escaping from “The Matrix” only to find oneself in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” You wake to a risky but bracing new reality of individual liberty, limited government and free markets and are instantly beset by zombified statist dreamers determined either to make you rejoin their ranks or to destroy you.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

You had some tough weather yesterday?

    • lysie says:

We had a few trees uprooted in the area/neighbohood. I don’t see any damage in our yard. I haven’t been outside, though.

Still, nothing compared to other states. Prayers up for them.

    • queenie says:

Glad things seem okay in your yard, lysie, and you find no surprises once you venture out.

Molly…..Gorgeous sunshine here today. If it’s not there yet, it’s coming. ;o)

    • Nita says:

Good Morning everyone on this crazy, fun filled, last day of the workweek Friday.

To say I have been busy is an understatement.

I’ll be glad for the respite this weekend to reflect on the meaning of the weekend and enjoying food fun and family.

Hope all is well with everyone.

  3. The Raven says:

If illegal immigrants voted Republican it would solve a host of problems. Not only would the immigration problem be solved next week, but voters would require ID, and Dems would get serious on entitlements if no one will pay for them.

  4. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

…his own behavior was so in tune with the ethos of the institution. Here is a place where power can be exercised without electoral accountability, privileges can be enjoyed without scrutiny, salaries can be claimed without taxes, and other people’s money can be spent with abandon.

-Wall St. Journal Ed. on Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the IMF

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, DSK exists in a context…aside from the particular pending case…he is not an admirable character.

Good morning Raven I think we made it thru the night without additional rain. Yesterday afternoon we had several heavy showers.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Reporting on a just-heard radio interview with Richard Miniter on his book about KSM: Mastermind…

Horrible details of Daniel Pearl’s kidnapping and death, which Dennis Prager rather regretfully broadcast before he realized the implications.

Miniter didn’t mince words about his disgust for McCain’s position on water boarding, & his reasoning, besides his passion, was excellent.

Did you know that more people (journalists, for example) have VOLUNTEERED for waterboarding than terrorists who’ve received it??

  6. tillacum says:

I saw a couple of articles about the Spain election and the socialists lost. But I saw the articles over on FR, not on tv, didn’t even hear it on FN, but I seldom watch tv unless Tom Selek is on it.

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • mustknowhistory says:

      Lovely breakfast.

Very bad storms rumbled through central Indiana yesterday. Stay safe.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh my gosh…what a night….one warning/alarm after another…torrents of rain….mad symphonies of thunder and lightening, but with the coming of light all looks well, at least right here. The river n. of us has overflowed its banks, I hear.

      Good morning lysie, all

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Has anybody heard that the Left was swept from power in Spain a few days ago??? Really, very definitely, booted out of power??

    • lysie says:

I was concerned about you two and others. We are in for some undesireable weather, too. I worry about the barn because there are a few tall trees within range. Greg must cut them down.
      Stay safe everyone.

    • queenie says:

Good morning, all you special people.

Saw a blurb about the Spain election, Molly, but don’t hear mainstream talking about it. Could be that I don’t listen, but I doubt it.

Wm. Clinton sort of agreed with Ryan. Said Medicare needs to be fixed but does not like Ryan’s plan. Stupid Rhinos in the House voted against Ryan’s plan. Want a real Conservative to run against them. At least there were more votes against Obama’s plan……..Didn’t know he had one.

      Take good care, everyone.

    • lysie says:

I, too, saw a blip about Spain. Gosh, do you think MSM is hiding something? 😉

    • tillacum says:

MMMM, nice lysie. But we’re having eggs and a small steak. Gotta get into a suit I love. Just a few more Pounds.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well I saw some storm damage – minor, tho – 3 streets over. We were pretty lucky, all things considered.

  8. tillacum says:

Jemian, you hit the nail on the head. He is, to us conservatives, poo stuck to the bottom of our shoe. ICK! When we began our wood business, Roomey fell the trees and trimmed the limbs, I was the one who pulled the limbs and stacked them for burning. (Yep, we were making acid rain). One day I tripped and fell into a fresh medow muffin and wore that till we went home. That is the way I feel whenever I hear the name of this country’s president. 2012 cannot get here soon enough with a Conservative in the Whitehouse, a majority in congress and the senate. Hope, hope….

  9. Molly Pitcher says:

    Check THIS out…..!

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

There have really always been two Barack Obamas: the mortal man and the cultural icon. If the actual man is distinctly ordinary, even a little flat and humorless, the cultural icon is quite extraordinary. The problem for Republicans is that they must run against both the man and the myth. In 2008, few knew the man and Republicans were walloped by the myth. Today the man is much clearer, and yet the myth remains compelling. – Shelby Steele

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Rav.

The cultural icon was born by Soros, Ayers and others. The liberal media continues to nuture that icon. If their eyes opened , he would be in for a fall. The eyes will remain closed for fear of being labeled racist.

    • tillacum says:

You’re right, the man cannot speak without notes, he must always use some one elses words. The myth, I think, is coming apart. One of these days he’s going to flip his lid in public and we will ALL see the myth fall and the real man standing.

  12. lysie says:

More bad storms for some states. Continuing prayers.

  13. Prairie says:

Good morning everybody, great looking links Molly, I have them open to read a bit later.
Just finished my two mile workout, I try to do at least that much almost every day.

Bibi speaks to congress today at 11 AM EST, I believe. I wish he would state what a weasle America has elected for POTUS.

I am very discouraged at the release of 40,000 convicts into CA and the greater US by the SCOTUS. And I’m convinced that Anthony Kennedy very much enjoys his swing-vote role. Attention-whore that he apparently is. Feh!

    • 4littlebears says:

Yes, I heard the question posed on FNF this morning about how many of them are illegals. In the little community newletter I write monthly, I basically said in my front page article “America: Love it or Leave It”. I write the article using an alter ego, “Flower” ( a puppy dog). I was reminesing about Great Uncle Bobo who was a traveling guy and great patriot! I’m waiting to see if there is any backlash!

    • tillacum says:

I think I heard Bibi stick it to that tourist in our whitehouse a couple of times. I think Bibi did excellently on the floor.

  14. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • queenie says:

      Oh, YUM, lysie! Thank you!

Paul Ryan entering the race would cause the media dudes to go nutz. Think I would like that.

      Good morning, everyone.

    • lysie says:

Good morning , quennie. It’s taking a little longer for me to wake up today, for some reason. Right now, I feel like I could be lazy all day long. That attitude must change soon!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Thanks for the breakfast m’dear!

It seems like the price of the berries we enjoy every year at this time hasn’t changed, thank goodness.

We got our a.c. fixed: some mice had built a nest in the unit outside and chewed thru the wires. We have to put some rodent repellent in there before this happens again..

  15. Molly Pitcher says:

It sounds like talk is growing about a Paul Ryan candidacy…

    • 4littlebears says:

We over slept today and hubby drove Tim to school, then went into work early. i cancelled a dr appointment due to not feeling just right. I seem to want to sleep longer too. I thought it was due to a change in our ways – staying up later than usual. Guess it’s not.

Let me rant about the doctor’s in PA for a moment! Dad went to the dr’s complaining of not being able to sleep, forgetfulness, no energy, etc. The doctor’s response? “You’re 86, what do you expect?” Now, i find that Becky, 21 yr old neice went to the psych hospital in a lot of pain from her, ready, STOMACH. They have her on so much medicine, what do they expect? But no one at the regular doctor’s office investigated that avenue.

  16. 4littlebears says:

Am I the first one here today? Oh my, help! the sky is falling, the sky is falling, I’m first! Morning everyone!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Good morning, little bears.

Once spring and summer arrived, I used to be able to get up earlier…this year is different!

How are you doing? How’s your family?

  17. Prairie says:

Good afternoon everybody. We spent a few days traveling and arrived at our location, now have been getting settled in and caught up on other tasks.

Thankful to have not been in the Joplin area, it’s so heartbreaking to see these reports. Death count is 90 I just heard.

  18. The Raven says:

Interesting–I was just talking to a guy from Sweden. Apparantly the government doesn’t have enough money to pay for the retiree’s. They somehow have a formula that a person is x% capable of still working. So – if you get cancer at age 62 and the government thinks you can work 50% of the time….then you have to go to work half of the week.

    Sign of things to come

  19. lysie says:

Goodness. I just saw footage of the tornado in Mo.
Prayers up for the people in that state and other states hit by these devastating storms.

    • Jemian says:

Amen! Prayers for especially for those in Joplin, MO, but also across the mid-west.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Not nearly so bumpy a start to the week here at the Pitcher household…a few minor snags…The regular a.c. service check people called to reschedule that appt., but the a.c. really isn’t working as it should so that can send someone out for that problem later, at least.

So Pawlenty is running? And 0’s in Ireland??? Did I hear that right???

    • Molly Pitcher says:

And I missed the Preakness on Sat.! Dang….just can’t keep up….

    • lysie says:

Yes, O is in Ireland. I hope he doesn’t kiss the Blarney Stone. He has already mastered the “Gift of Gab” and he’s full of a lot of hooey.

    • Jemian says:

The Preakness was exciting but … the horses seem mediocre this year. I just haven’t gotten into it and researched the runners, jockeys, etc. What made it exciting was that Animal Kingdom runs behind the pack and comes from behind. He almost made it and lost by just half a length. If it had been longer, he could have won it. Bad call by the trainer and jockey (unless they couldn’t convince AK to turn on the speed earlier in the race. Horses do silly things at times).

We’re hitting a bridal salon this AM. If we find the dress of Gail’s dreams, we’ll put a down payment on it. She’s been shopping in mags and online so she has an idea of what she wants.

  20. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  21. The Raven says:

If you don’t have a good ideology, you need to lie about everything and getting elected requires playing dirty, so the average GOP’er doesn’t want to subject the family to the Dem party and the MSM machine.

  22. edinva says:

    G’day, Molly:

GOP candidates have surely been dropping like flies, haven’t they? Tho there seemed to be some chatter about Sarah Palin’s reference to the “fire” in her belly. And something about Palins’ possible home purchase in Scottsdale, AZ as a”lower 48″ base of operation. Guess that all remains to be seen.

What I fear is another ’96. Obama is now as vulnerable as Clinton was in ’95. And conservatives/Republicans are too busy fighting each other, tearing apart the candidate(s) they don’t like instead of focusing on The One. Frankly, I don’t think I could handle another four years of this regime.

    • Jemian says:

      Tim Pawlenty is IN.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi ED…hate to think we may replay ’96…

Pawlenty being interviewed by Limbaugh now…

Another item in the local news about consequences of all the rain: well water may be adversely affected…

I’m busy squaring away various summer plans and details….but did get out to plant some annuals…cutting back this year, tho, on the amount.
