Hello!

What’s going to happen with the markets tomorrow?

Dems are trying this line: It’s the Tea Party Downgrade.

The 2012 Campaign is underway, and all indications are that with the economy in tatters, and 0 a long way from “Hope and Change” the Dems will have little positive to run on, only unbelievably vicious attacks.

Back (from China)…..little jet lagged, still … Also feel like complaining today. Wonder if I’m becoming a Dem?

Last night I was waiting for my next flight in the United lounge at Dulles and my boss said…”Looks like we have a dignitary—look behind you”

And there was John McCain chatting on his cell phone and a couple of his young aides.

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  4. Prairie says:

There is a store in town that primarily sells olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

You can taste several dozen flavors of both of them using little bread cubes they provide. Some of them were quite exoticly flavored, such as white truffle and black truffle olive oil

I purchased a delcious Greek olive oil, very fruity. And a sampler of bread dipping seasonings.

  5. lysie says:

Thanks for your concern, Molly and all. Yes, this is hard on me. Dale, was only 50 years old. He was riding his motorcycle at 9:15am when a 77 year old man took a (illegal) left from a credit union parking lot, hitting Dale.

Some of you may remember that my first husband was killed in an auto accident and I was in a car accident where the driver and I were thrown from the car. He died.

Needless to say, I’m aware of how important a split second can be.

    BBL Love you all.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh dear…when the pain and sorrow lessen, and you don’t think so often about what you miss, and will continue to miss..then the sweet memories of the music and good times will return to you & others who mourn Dale.

    • Prairie says:

Sorry to read of your friend’s death (((lysie)))

    • tillacum says:

So sorry to hear of your friends death. Even when the bike rider is vigilent, it can be dangerous and deadly. I used to ride one and one day on the way to the base, my husband came upon, and saw, a motorcycle accident. At a cross road, 4-way stop, a car did not stop and hit the motorcycle. He came home and told me I would not ride mine again. It was sold that very day.

  6. Prairie says:

Good morning everybody, checking in. We are having a very nice time at our neighborhood “gathering” at the resort. Beautiful scenery. (Although lots of pine beetle damage)

Yesterday I went 4-wheeling for the first time. It was a real adventure although my wrists are a little sore today. The other folks were all experienced riders so I had good companions and they were very patient with me……I was timid in riding downhill especially on a rented machine, so went slowly then. But i got better as the day went on. I think we may have ridden upward of 40 miles. Some of the ride was over nice gravel roads, some of it was rocky, rough trails. So I got a work-out.

Off to be pampered at the pedicurist this morning and walk around the tourist shops with a girlfriend. Thanks for the links, everybody. Take care all.

MKH: GREAT!!! Congrats in advance 😉

  8. edinva says:

    Good morning, all.

Molly, I was up late, too, watching the WI recall election returns. Congrats to the fine folks in WI who gave their incumbents a 4-1-1 night. Given the $30M union dollars spent against them, that was quite a showing. Now on to the Dem recalls next week. For this to be happening in WI, a traditionally more liberal, more union-oriented state, is a very good sign.

Let’s give credit where credit is due. Mayor Nutter of Philadelphia lectures the rampaging youth:

  10. Molly Pitcher says:

Morning everyone. Didn’t sleep well last night, but I WAS up to hear my team win in the early hours of the a.m…extra innings…walk-off hit batter with the bases loaded! That hadn’t happened in awhile.

  11. Molly Pitcher says:

    Good morning everyone..

The Fed has a regularly scheduled meeting today…Stock futures are rising this a.m. in anticipation of that meeting. The news report I just heard specifically mentioned 0’s comments not doing anything to halt the drop yesterday. HA!

  12. lysie says:

Please say a prayer for our friends, Dale and Candice. Dale was a member of the band we like to hear on Monday nights. He was killed in a vehicle accident this morning. Candice is his girlfriend.
Our hearts are broken for her and his family.

My (yet unborn) grandchildren will be voting before this pres__ent accepts responsibility for anything..

  14. mustknowhistory says:

Just heard Don Wade on WLS say that buried in the S&P report, was a statement that if the senate had passed and the president signed the Paul Ryan budget, then the downgrade would not have happened.

Anyone know if this is true??

  15. lysie says:

The “if then” in the Obama Downgrade article..sort of like the saying “going on a diet next Monday”.

  16. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      YUM, YUM…thank you lysie

Hope your weekend was a good one. Any fishing?

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Molly.
No fishing. John and Sarah were visiting his relatives in Maine and Mass. I was puppy sitting. Which I don’t mind, ’cause she’s a sweetie.
How did the tree trimming go?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh it did get done…Friday! Now I have space & more sun to make another bed in…but next year.

One guy has to come back with a portable stump grinder to finish the job.

      Glad you enjoyed the puppy.

We spent last night with a wonderful yellow lab & her owners.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

As a tribute to those Navy Seals, Bennett played the Navy hymn….Eternal Father..to close the show

    • Jemian says:

Eternal Father is one of my favorite hymns. I would not have been able to listen to it without bawling. I’m crying now just listening to it in my mind.

      I truly hate Caligula.

  17. edinva says:

Molly, if ANYONE beyond the Dems’ hardcore base buys into this being a “Tea Party Downgrade” as the moveon crowd is promoting, we will deserve a full fledged depression. Can the country really be that stupid? Oh, how could I forget? The buck stops THERE!

    • mustknowhistory says:

Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune had an article yesterday blaming the Tea Party and the first page of comments were all of the variety “you must be crazy…”

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Hi you 2…

That’s a good idea…reading the comments on certain articles. The one you reference, mkh may actually be fairly representative for the purposes of judging reaction as you describe. Very good!

Yesterday was one weird day…busy, occupied physically, emotionally, mentally with certain things…then finally, about 10 p.m. I checked out the Fox News website, and saw that hours earlier there was one of those crazed, horrific shooting incidents in the area. We were totally oblivious, but then, so must have been the people we were seeing as thru the hours because no one had mentioned it.

      Strange day.

    • lysie says:

I saw that about the shooting.
      So sad.
I’m sure these kinds of things happened year ago, but it far too often now.

  18. lysie says:

Thanks for the start, Molly. I’m watching b’ball. I’m not sure how much longer I can keep my eyes open, though.
