South Carolina’s Nikki Haley is backing Mitt Romney. That decision has surprised some.

Results of a recent poll says 52% of the people believe that this country is on the wrong track. I heard Dem strategist, Pat Caddell state that O is in deep trouble.

    New thread

Our son arrived safely and in a timely manner for his Christmas visit. Hurray!

  2. Jemian says:

This has been an extraordinarily really bad year. This man was a friend of ours. For a few years we were next-door neighbors. We celebrated Christmas and New Years with him.
Arnold Burung Dies in Plane Accident

This is the third aviation fatality in Papua since the end of September.

    • lysie says:

So very sorry, Jem. Prayers up for family and friends.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Terrible loss for his family and friends. At least the passengers survived.

    • edinva says:

Jemian, what comfort there may be is it appears your friend was not only doing the Lord’s work, but did it with such skill that he saved the lives of his passengers. Facing the crash, he held steady and saved their lives, in all likelihood, knowing he would lose his own. Prayers for Mr.Burung his family and friends, including you and yours.

    Good morning everyone.

But where? Every time he talks his polls go down so he stopped talking. And the one-on-ones with Romney and Newt are close but no cigar. A little manufactured uptick in the economy and a lot of negative campaigning to frighten the electorate (plus the ‘Pubs dropping the spending / debt issue) with the help of a friendly media, and WAH-LAH, presto change-oh… the new zero emerges ready to tax the rich, build cars, leap tall buildings, etc.

Walmart’s Ancestor Some of us remember the old A & P, right??

    • lysie says:

      Oh yes, the A&P.

They have been out of this area for a number of years. As a young child I remember going shopping with mom. The whole store smelled of fresh ground coffee because customers would buy Paul de Lima whole bean coffee and take it to the checkout where the cashier would grind it. *sniff* Still smelling it. 🙂

Oh and they gave out S&H Green Stamps. I licked plenty of those back then.

    • Jemian says:

IIRC, Dog used to work for them until his store closed a few years ago. I liked them, the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes…S & H stamps….the funny thing is…I can’t remember a darn thing we got when we redeemed the books…but it sure was fun filling them up!

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Jem. Yes, I think you are right about Dog working there at one time. I remember how upset he was that they left his area.

    • Jemian says:

Molly, I’ll bet you got an appliance like a blender, toaster or mixer. Something necessary but not overwhelmingly expensive.

Rav, the Greek Irish dancers were LOL. The Chipettes were cute.

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
