America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant-4 months left October 22–October 26, 2012 Remember 9/11

Romney and 0bama step back into the ring Monday night for the third round of debates.

Romney must be able to deflect charges of inexperience in foreign affairs, and any “flip-flops” the 0 camp is going to make.

0bama has the trickier path: defending a disastrous record of weakness, apology, and incompetence.

Time to get out the Alka Seltzer again! Do they still make that stuff? Well, anything it takes to get you thru the evening…

  1. The Raven says:

Ugly, ugly….when you vote for them – it’s OK

  2. Prairie says:

Molly, on that Powerline article about the “virginity” ad….follow a couple of links and it takes you to some blog that maintains Reagan used that same tactic. Read Reagan’s words and you’ll be amazed at how the author stretched from here to the mooooon to make it sound like Reagan was inferring a sexual innuendo. Blech!

  3. lysie says:

    Jem, take care. Prayers up.

  4. tillacum says:

OH YUMMY! Two of my faves. Thank you.

  5. The Raven says:

That link aboutr Illinois is similar to the one in the WSJ today.

  6. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

Mr. Obama is portrayed as having the appearance and presentation of an academic or intellectual while being strangely clueless in his reading of political situations and dynamics. He is bad at negotiating—in fact doesn’t know how. His confidence is consistently greater than his acumen, his arrogance greater than his grasp.
    – Peggy Noonan on the theme of Bob Woodward’s new book , “The Price of Politics,”

    • The Raven says:

On another related note…..When the Yankees were nearing their end this year, they benched the slumping third baseman, A-Rod. So, A-Rod, instead of focusing on the game from the dugout….is flirting with women in the stands and getting phone numbers. For some reason, that reminded me of Zero.

    • Jemian says:

Good morning. We got throuh Friday here. I’m wiped out. Heading for bed. See you tomorrow or even Sunday. I’m that tired.

    • tillacum says:

WOW, sometimes she says it as it is. Sometimes…

    • Prairie says:

I believe that Noonan was a Obama supporter in 2008. I don’t read her anymore but I think I recall that. What’s the matter Peggy, did your man let you down….?

    • edinva says:

Prairie, your memory is correct. Noonan was one of those ‘conservative’ women who were so very upset about Sarah Palin that they veered toward Obama. Go figure. I think she did lose a lot of her audience with that move.

  7. lysie says:

ed, our Syracuse newspaper has finally put Moran’s story online at …get this….Oct. 25, 2012, 7:48 p.m. EDT. The paper slants heavily to the left.

    • edinva says:

Thanks, lysie. It’s outrageous .. the young man, Patrick Moran, who was taped showing a James O’Keefe undercover operator how to vote illegally, is not only son of our wretched Congressthing, his uncle is chairman of the VA Dem Party. Great bloodline, eh? Arlington VA is opening a criminal investigation. They will likely charge the O’Keefe operative!

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome, ed.

Moran’s resignation is not enough. He needs to be lawfully punished. Trial and all.

    • edinva says:

lysie, you have to understand NORTHERN Virginia (think a lower key NYC). It’s where (nearly) all the yuppy libs who come to DC live. The City of Alexandria (where Moran was Mayor) and Arlington County are definitely big left learning jurisdictions. If Moran is going to be prosecuted, the prosecutors, judge and jury will be predominantly lib Dem. The only reason they’d convict him is for being stupid and getting caught.

    • lysie says:

Ah! I see. Integrity is hard to find in that area, eh? Sheesh!

    • edinva says:

lysie, there are actually a lot of very nice folks here .. they just don’t go into politics 😉 I really think that is a problem nation-wide. The good people sit back, keep to themselves, raise their families not waves, etc. while the other variety seeks the ego trip of politics, even at low levels. We really ARE sheeple.

    • lysie says:

I guess I should have said politcal integrity.

Have you heard about the filthy ad of O’s? I refuse to watch it or post it.

    • edinva says:

YES !!! I was out almost all day and saw something online about “First Time” and mentioned to my husband. He said Levin was alllllllllllllll over it on his radio show. There really is no bottom for them, is there ?

It has been pointed out that the election in large part hinges on “collar counties’ in PA and such .. and how well this would go over with suburban parents who have a hard enough time keeping on top of their kids, daughters especially.

  8. Molly Pitcher says:

Well, I just loved the Limbaugh caller about Red Rocks rally just now…it’s not a remote location…way out in the middle of nowhere, but for that large a crowd, it did sound like it took some effort to get there for such a huge, older-aged crowd, too.. The little town, south of the site, Morrison, does not have much area, being squeezed in a valley next to a mountain stream, and the front range Red Rocks just to the n. The roads and and out are minimal, coming off I 470, tho…probably the rally size was about 2 times the normal large size concert.

Anyway, it’s one of my favorite places in the D area.

  9. lysie says:

Under the cartoon. I love this:

I wish we could have one more debate, this one between cartoonists: Ramirez would demolish anyone the liberals could come up with. No, wait–let’s add a second debate, too, this one between comedians. We get Dennis Miller.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

lysie you mentioned that calcium test the other day…just a day later I read about it in an article which detailed ways…free market ways…to curtail health care costs…

The article said that that test is not routinely covered by insurance…patients thus pay out of pocket, so customers shop for the best price. Several years ago, the cost of that test was about $500…now some places offer them for under $100…

    • lysie says:

Thanks for that information about the calcium count. The cost that Greg was quoted is $200.00, however, his insurance said they will pay all but $20.00. Greg’s doctor said Greg has to pay all of it. Who to believe??? They are all idiots as far as I’m concerned. Ha!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, per an item over at NRO, I’m not only in the Ground Zero State in this election, but basically in the Ground Zero Cong. District in this election.

Picked up more door hangers to run around neighborhoods with…

There are people who’ve done far more than me (I?) this cycle and for months…my heart goes out to them, their feet, their voices, their families…May God bless and watch over them.

    • edinva says:

Molly, lysie, et al… has the story about Cong. Jim Moran’s son made it to OH/NY? Outside the Beltway? I’m curious if this is being handled as a ‘local’ story as the WaPo has done, burying it in the Metro section, or if its national implications are being covered. Just my luck to live in the district of the most wretched SOB to serve in Congress. Here he is, serving Virginia with the thickest Boston accent you’ve ever heard. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. The Raven says:

OK…so, there is early voting until maybe next week in most places and Zero has probably two or three Oct surprises coming which may miss the early voting (but early voters are die hards?) ….. any way….. he needs a few points……… will it be enough? — throwing in illegal ballots and depressed military votes?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

He looks awfully desparate to me….

Guess what? Hannity is going to be doing his Fox show from the area next Tuesday night…very close to your old favorite store! At least that’s the report in the newspaper

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

Romney draws Massive Crowd to remote CO location With all due respect to HotAir….Red Rocks is just to the w. of Denver and s. of Golden…It’s not remote at all, and a well used outdoor concert site for decades..still …love the story…

  13. Molly Pitcher says:

I heard about this large billboard:

We built it. You broke it. We will fix it. You are fired!

  14. lysie says:

Yes. The Inn is there and Doug’s Fish Fry , too. 🙂

It was nice to sit still ( quietly) for a couple of hours. Well, it wasn’t too quiet. The geese were talking to us. Oh and the church next to us rang the bells every hour. Very nice.

  15. Molly Pitcher says:

    Oh fun, fun!

How’s the Inn doing there in this economy, I wonder…still going, I presume?

  16. Molly Pitcher says:

Wow…I did not know that about those imported birds…like the starlings, then?

  17. Prairie says:

State Department emails from day of Libya attack show Al Qaeda-tied group on radar

    being held in Tunisia.

The emails obtained by Fox News were sent by the State Department to a variety of national security platforms, whose addresses have been redacted, including the White House Situation Room, the Pentagon, the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence.

Fox News was told that an estimated 300 to 400 national security figures received these emails in real time almost as the raid was playing out and concluding. People who received these emails work directly under the nation’s top national security, military and diplomatic officials, Fox News was told.

  18. tillacum says:

Blame the Brits. They brought those birds during one of shipments in the early days of America. So I’ve read. We are inundated with them, here in Texas.

  19. lysie says:

Chickens/hens are mean critters. Thus, pecking order. Brats!

  20. Molly Pitcher says:

Rough night after all that excitement…

Things to do, but not too much.

    Have those chickens under control??!!

  21. Molly Pitcher says:

Well so far, Romney seems a little caught off guard, while 0 came out swinging & condescending..

    • Prairie says:

Romney hasn’t been too strong yet….He needs to remember that Obama is a liar and that God is on the side of truth.

    • Prairie says:

Romney steadying out a bit…I hope.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Those were my reactions…and 0’s lecturing!

Schieffer bringing up Libya right off in the way he did was a gift to Romney which I don’t believe he took, and he had the first response, too. That was disappointing.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Now 0’s into his mumbo jumbo mode..nonsense stuff…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Tying our worsening economic situation to national security as R did a few moments ago was one of the points some where hoping he’d make. He looks in control and presidential when he does that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

R into his list mode now…LOL, I just love that! What a contrast to 0’s lofty pie in the sky weirdnesses

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Took a wee break and came back to hear 0 talking class warfare?!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Blatant Lie #4,689: 0 saying his administration did not propose sequestration. This came just after I asked my husband how you debated someone who told so many lies.

    • tillacum says:

Has anyone noticed the photo of the two side by side…nobama is much larger than Mitt.
Nobama lied about the largest military…NO WAY, it’s much smaller than when the AF became a branch in it’s self.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi till I think Romney is trying to hit the high points, and not go bananas over 0’s lies and vague silliness…there’s plenty there but he’s picking and choosing and trying to stay calm.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Romney had a great line about skipping Israel on the Apology Tour!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Another lie was 0 saying China and Russia supported sanctions against Iran…Awful, awful to have such a man who is so disrespectful of the people he serves in the WH.

    • Prairie says:

Yes, how disappointing that Romney didn’t get some really strong first licks in on Libya. How could he not be ready for that to be the first question? Ah, well……

    • Prairie says:

At least Romney has calmed down and gotten a better footing under him. Maybe he can finish strongly…..I’ve always said that Romney brings a knife to a gun fight.

Still, I remarked to Mr. Prairie earlier this evening that if Romney can just keep from stepping into a pile of doo-doo that will also be a good thing. I saw before the debate started that the viewership estimates are way down from what they were in the first ones. Lots of people watching the ballgame, which Mr. Prairie says SF had a very exciting inning, several runs, three pitchers, bases loaded three times. (/sports update)

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, Romney’s ending strong. His plan was to allow 0 to talk himself to death, looking un presidential and so on..but Romney wasn’t completely passive. He got in some strong points too…like about the trade war at the end.& looked competent and trustworthy

    • edinva says:

I could only catch pieces tonight but Romney spoke at every opportunity about leadership, which he just oooooooozes. The other guy not so much.

    • Prairie says:

Yes, but Obama lies very convincingly and there are plenty of clueless people to believe it. He may get a bump from tonight but I’m hoping it will be temporary. I don’t think Romney hurt himself, except for the pundits claiming victory to O. And the public will likely not be considering this foreign policy debate as heavily (I Do!) Romney sounds good on his econoomic stuff so hopefully tonight won’t harm him much.
      Good night everybody.

  22. The Raven says:

This one may come down to illegal voters

  23. Prairie says:

Good Monday everybody, hope all had a great weekend. Sending praises to God for prayers answered here, I won’t go into details but some negative medical testing was welcome news.

Prayers lifted for Romney, I hope he can feel how many people are praying for him and the strength of those prayers.

I may hang out here some during the debate….(I don’t watch, just listen peripherally as I surf)….so if anybody else drops by, see ya then!

  24. mustknowhistory says:

Is Obama gonna be toast? Which way goes Ohio?

    • Jemian says:

I hope you had a good rest. FWIW it’s worth, one of my favorite lullabies is “All Through the Night.”

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
      All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
      All through the night;
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
I my loved ones’ watch am keeping,
      All through the night.

      Angels watching, e’er around thee,
      All through the night
      Midnight slumber close surround thee,
      All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones’ watch am keeping,
      All through the night

While the moon her watch is keeping,
      All through the night
While the weary world is sleeping,
      All through the night
      O’er thy spirit gently stealing,
      Visions of delight revealing
Breathes a pure and holy feeling,
      All through the night.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh yes Jemian I’m going to be hearing that music in my head all day now, and that is a good thing

  25. Molly Pitcher says:

    Rest well tonite, my friends
