    PJMedia Weather Nerd Hurricane Sandy

    Afternoon everyone

    • edinva says:

Molly, all .. don’t faint but the U.S. Govt offices in D.C.are closed tomorrow ! You know all it takes is a good dew.

I happened by Lowe’s and saw half dozen vans/trucks out front with peeps loading up their new generators. I did spring for a couple of loaves of good Panera bread, am fully stocked on what I’ll need for a couple of days, but no new generator. People in and around DC truly are crazy.

  2. lysie says:

Stay safe, ed, Molly and everyone.

Greg is getting our generator ready…just in case.

  3. edinva says:

    Thanks, lysie
Saw that Sandy’s effects are supposed to go inland as far as Syracuse! Also Pittsburgh and Charleston WV. She’s a BIG girl. A friend in Westchester called yesterday, had to use her cell because their landlines weren’t working, not a good prelude to the big event.

Hope all stay safe in the coming days.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning! Guess I better go check TWC…

ED I’m thinking of you, the areas around you….Norfolk s. of you is so prone to flooding… wow.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Well, several of us here are bracing for the Big Storm….from our various locations we’ll be providing on the spot reports, for as long as we can 🙂

    • edinva says:

Molly it’s now looking like landfall will be in the Rehoboth to Atlantic City area, basically the Demarva peninsula. I googled a map of my friend’s house on LI, and the ONLY thing between her and the ocean is a long very thin strip called “Fire Island.” (don’t even ask about riding the LIRR out that way on a Friday afternoon in Summer). So we have one ‘kid’ in Richmond, another in NYC, both likely to be affected even worse than we will be. I think (hope!) our worst scenario is loss of power for a day or so. Only problem with that is no internet. Now, THAT is suffering!

I just hope O doesn’t take advantage of this to play hero and suck all the oxygen left in the air. If the opportunity presents itself, of course, we know he will do exactly that.

    • tillacum says:

It’s the flooding afterwards I’m thinking of. Sounds like a lot of water will be dumped. Stay dry, FRiends.

  6. The Raven says:

I can see Obama going the direction he did on Benghazi – telling everyone to stand down, keep calm, and then afterwards, blame it on a video. Now, his staff is bailing. The CIA didn’t do it and Defense had insufficient knowledge so we didn’t do anything.
This is a situation where you can replace Obama with a random person from the street and that person would have gathered his key people, cancelled his trips, and deal with the situation. Troops and planes would be on the way, even if it was for “just in case.” It took Obama three times to make the call to take out Bin Laden, and again, a random person would have snapped fingers and gone on the first try.

    What is the problem here?

    • tillacum says:

I personally think, the problem is lack of courage and leadership. Another idea is obama was helping “his” brothers in AlQueda. I don’t trust this muslim/communist as far as I can throw a brick outhouse.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s what “Leading from behind” gets you!

BTW, I’ve heard the phrase “leading from the front” twice on tv the past week…in CSI: NY and Chicago Fire….both times in a complimentary, encouraging way from one character to another…hmmmm..

    • tillacum says:

OH, and has anyone noticed an Admiral and a General one in the Mid East and the other head of Africom? Hmmmm??? Interesting.

  8. queenie says:

Traveled from Northern IL into Southern WI and back today. Do not know if this means anything at all, of course, but we saw more Romney signs than the zero’s. It was probably a 4 to 1 ratio. Know R won’t take IL, but will win in most burbs, but not enought to counter Chicago, doncha know. Grrrrrrrrrr………..

  9. edinva says:

    Good morning, all

Got the bunker set up in case Sandy really does come blowing thru here. I just heard she’s back to ‘cane force. After all the hype last year, Irene was SUCH a disappointment. j/k God willing, Sandy will exhaust herself before hitting land in the mid-Atlanticand moving on to /NY/New England I was fortunate to hit the stores yesterday while most were still at work. Don’t want to think of what the shelves look like today.

Molly, why am I not surprised the MSM isn’t covering Moran? Apparently it’s being investigated by Arlington County AND our VA AG (Cuccinelli, R) has now been asked to investigate. I think the problem is that (from a legal if not political perspective) all they did was talk, hypothetical, etc. WHY these people keep electing Moran is beyond me.

  10. Prairie says:

Good morning all. We will be heading to SA for a convention for a few days. Will check in as able. Have a great weekend everybody. Keep the faith…

  11. lysie says:

Thanks for the storm update, Jem. I fixed it in the opening.

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

This storm! It’s very large in size, is that right?

    Good morning lysie, Jemian, all

ED Nothing here about Moran’s son…I keep looking at the paper…the first day it broke it was mentioned a couple of times in the local radio news reports…,

  13. Jemian says:

Good morning. One happy thought is that Hurricane Sandy is now Tropical Storm Sandy.

The Benghazi cover-up seems to point at the Oval Office. One of my questions is WHY? What did Caligula stand to gain from it all? He is not answering questions related to it; claims it isn’t “relevant” to the election. Like [^{+~*!}^.€ it isn’t! It most definitely is very relevant. It is one of the most relevantest things being discussed (albeit only by patriots) this weekend. Not relevant, my Aunt Fanny!
