America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant 3 months left – November, 3 and 4 2012 ( Weekend Edition)

This is the last weekend before the election. I’m reminded of a very powerful quote.

“When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.”
– Thomas Jefferson

I have been thinking about why people vote the way they do. Below are some “ifs”. Help me out. Can you folks come up with more?

If you have no self-pride… Vote Democrat.

If unions put their dues before helping those in need.. Vote Republican.

    Something that has been in the closet for 15 plus years…..Didn’t work 100%…….I bagged up to put in trash….Greg asked for this morning. Figures!! LOL

  2. lysie says:

    Hi till and Molly. Cool and drizzly here.

    The New York Daily News and Newsday have both endorsed Romney. I’m shocked. Bwahahaha!

  3. tillacum says:

    Good Morning you two. Beautiful in central Texas. We had a terrific rain storm rush thru here last evening. We appreciate any and all rain.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

    Yes….good luck with that!

  5. Prairie says:

    Benghazi blunder: Obama unworthy commander-in-chief

    Blistering editorial and indictment of O and his administrations reign of terror. Spot on, a MUST READ.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      yes…those fine men deserved better leadership. They were worthy, not him.

      And don’t forget…for some reason this isnt often mentioned in all the coverage.

      There were 2-3 dozen people in that Annex…ALL of them left to fend for themselves.

    • lysie says:

      Thanks, Prairie. Little by little this story is making people more aware of the administration’s failure. I wish the people were aware earlier. I wish the “gimme” people cared.

    • Prairie says:

      Well yes Molly, they were left to fend for themselves and eventually evacuated…so WHERE ARE THEY? And why aren’t any of them talking???

    • Prairie says:

      Lysie, I agree. I swear there are some people in this country that I don’t even acknowlege as my countrymen anymore.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      prairie I think some of them are talking thru people like Tyrone Woods’s father…

      Some were badly injured and may be still recovering, but I’m thinking that they would make good witnesses in front of some Cong. committees!

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

    Hi All, & Bit !

    Just got a recorded message, that didn’t sounded recorded, you know? It was from a coal miner here in Ohio announcing his vote for R/R and why and asking for ours too. It was simply expressed & moving, too.

  7. Prairie says:

    Thanks Molly, after I posted I saw it mentioned it was a R stronghold. Still, a hopeful sign.

  8. Bitwhacker says:

    My contribution to If… (with apologies to Rudyard Kipling):

    IF you can keep your head (R-W., Reagan, Christie, Romney-Ryan, Palin) when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you(I,D-Bloomberg, Lankford, Nobama, Reid, Schumer),
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you(R-W,),
    But make allowance for their doubting too(R-Ryan’s Budgets);
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting(R-McConnell, Boehner),
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies(R-Romney-Ryan, Palin(!), Bork),
    Or being hated, don’t give way to hating(R-Palin, Romney-Ryan, Gingrich, et al),
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise(R-Ryan, Palin, Rush):

    If you can dream(R-Ryan, Gingrich) – and not make dreams your master(D-Solyndra, et al);
    If you can think(R-Romney, Ryan, Gingrich) – and not make thoughts your aim(D-Nobama, Krugman, NYT, HuffPo, Reichhhhhhhh_uh, et al);
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster(D-Bin Laden-after 10 aborts, Benghaze-worse than Watergate)
    And treat those two impostors just the same(R-Reagan, W.);
    If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken(R-Palin, W., Romney-Ryan, the list goes on)
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools(D-MSNBCABCNBCCBSCNN, the list goes on and on),
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken(R-Bork),
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools(R-Scalia, Thomas, Alito but NOT Roberts):

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings(R-Desert Storm, War on Terror, Reaganomics)
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss(R-The Surge, TARP, IranContra),
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings(R-NobamaCare, The Stimulus, Executive Orders)
    And never breathe a word about your loss(R-Boehner, W., Reagan, Ryan);
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew(R-Cheney, McConnell, Gingrich)
    To serve your turn long after they are gone(R-Reagan),
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you(R-Reagan)
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ (R-Palin)

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue(R-Romney, Ryan, Palin, Christie, Rubio, etc.),
    ‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch(So NOT Nobama, Hitlery, Reid, Notbright, UOX42, et al),
    if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you(R-W., Washington),
    If all men count with you, but none too much(R-Reagan, Lincoln);
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute(You mean like when we aren’t causing cancer?)
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run(R-Kemp, Eisenhower, Reagan, Lee Atwater),
    Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it(R-Tea Party, Flyover Country, CONSERVATIVES),
    And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!(Amen)

  9. Bitwhacker says:

    Good Morning, everyone.

    Sorry I haven’t been around, it has been a very busy year. I even contemplated moving to the DC area because of it, but if I ever did that, you know that all work for me would cease in DC and shift promptly up to the Northeast. 😉

    I do have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at Romney’s metamorphosis from amorphous wet noodle into strong, even courageous defender of principle (once he decided where he stood). He cleaned Chicago Wunderkind’s clock in the first debate, and coasted during the next 2 rounds — the frustration on Zero’s face and in his voice was very nice to witness. And the lies…they just kept on coming, yet Romney was unfazed. I could finally see him in the White House, and he seems to belong there now. Anne would be a vast improvement over the First Dietician, too.

  10. lysie says:

    Based on O’s remarks yesterday and Romney’s following.

    If you want revenge Vote Democrat.
    If you love your country Vote Republican.

    • Bitwhacker says:

      OK, more conventional If:

      If you want a sclerotic, indolent, unsustainable yet self-righteous, somnambulant and suicidally socialistic version of Europe on steroids on this continent, Vote Democrat.
      If you want a self-reliant, unfettered, unashamed, unimposing yet principled, positive force for good in the world, Vote Republican.

      If you like character assassination, Vote Democrat.
      If you admire character, Vote Republican.

      If you want your health care to be a tag-team of you, your doctor, and the IRS/Death Panel/HHS Secretary, Vote Democrat.
      If you want your health care to be between you and your doctor and that’s it, Vote Republican.

      If you think it’s OK to steal from citizens at the point of a gun to give to other citizens in the name of ‘fairness’ and ‘redistribution’, Vote Democrat.
      If you know that ‘fairness’ and ‘redistribution’ are bullshit code words for commie apparatchiks to get their hands on the rest of your possessions not already taken by taxes, Vote Republican.

      If you think the Government is benevolent, kind, trustworthy and cognizant of all rights ‘given’ to us by Government, Vote Democrat.
      If you know that a bigger Government means a smaller Citizenry, if you know that rights are bestowed on the Citizenry by God and guaranteed by the Constitution, and that rights not exercised are rights no longer possible, Vote Republican.

    • lysie says:

      You are on a roll……HA!!

  11. Molly Pitcher says:

    I went to the Butler County news site, and they proclaimed: 30,000!

  12. lysie says:

    How about: If you want something done right…do it yourself. Hmmm! Something, here, this morning, reminded me of that one. Ha!

  13. Jemian says:

    Good morning. I have survived but am way behind on everything.

  14. Molly Pitcher says:

    You are so right about the self-pride thing lysie

    If you like to be talked down to,…. Vote Dem

    If you appreciate intelligent arguments & respect……vote R

    If facts mean little or nothing to you…..vot Dem

    If reality checks don’t scare you… R

  15. Molly Pitcher says:

    1 more thing….you could easily have people drive over from Indiana to attend….they are starving for attention from the team 🙂

  16. Molly Pitcher says:

    Hey! So delicious!

    Prairie 25,000 in West Chester? That’s an R stronghold….hi margins there help overcome the Dems in the cities of Cleveland and Columbus…so: Essential….our son went to university down there in that county…that’s about the only place you’ll find any libs.
