America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant November 17 and 18, 2012 ( Weekend Edition)

Happy birthday, Prairie!

Well, what do you know? With O’s re-election I guess Hamas has the green light to attack Israel. Who knew? Prayers up for Israel.

Molly, that IS good news on the Tyndale case. Obviously all these challenges are heading right back to SCOTUS. If the courts hold for Tyndale, how do they NOT hold for, say, Mercy Hospital or Catholic Charities, etc? Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Word is that J. Walton is ‘relatively’ conservative.

We don’t want to secede…we want to succeed!! By purging the malcontents, and the land under them. Good riddance!!

Our special interest group (Constitution, Declaration, freedom) will be just fine, thank you.

That Portlandia atricle is hilarious, Molly.

Our weekend is going well. How is yours and P?

We have nicknamed our new car SpideyCat. I have had many cats, but never have I had one who can walk up a wall like this one can. Or perhaps, I should call him SuperCat because he can leap tall tv cabinets, refrigerator and book shelves in a single bound. LOL

So far only one broken item. It was my fault. Before going to bed one night I said to myself, move that. I didn’t. He broke it, but is repairable.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie Hope your weekend is going well…great job on that rug purchase!

  5. Prairie says:

Thank you lysie and everybody for the birthday wishes. It’s been a good day, a bit low-key which was fine.

    • edinva says:

Prairie, a day late Birthday wishes to you!

      Good morning, everyone

About to check into today’s news, which isn’t pretty out of the Middle East. Since Israel is left to its own devices, we can only hope they go in and wipe out the vipers’ den. Imagine those people living every single day in fear of the next rocket attack. At least this worthless White House has acknowledged that Israel has a right to defend itself.

Molly, btw, this Thanksgiving will be in Berkeley Springs, WV, a LOT closer than Deep Creek Lake. With my post-election depression syndrome (PEDS), am not looking forward to it, but maybe, just maybe it’ll pull me outta the funk. Looking forward, I bought my poinsettias for the season.

Jemian, how’s the malaria coming? Wish there were a way you could take the antibiotics without the reaction and/or not taking them and putting yourself in jeopardy of getting malaria. Wasn’t quinine water something the Brits used in their colonial days to thrwart malaria? In any case, hope it passes quickly. Also, lest I stop on dangerous turf here, is it Auburn the AL college you have the relationship with? A young friend is doing an internship with a Christian on-campus ministry there this year, don’t ‘get’ the full details, but it seems he’s loving it.

      Y’all have a great day!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

ED… have only passed thru Berkley Springs, never spent any time there…will be interested in your report. Have a great time!

    • Jemian says:

Yes, it is AUBURN, THE university in Alabama. I’m glad your friend is there and especially glad he’s involved in a campus ministry. I hope he attends Trinity Pres in Opelika, the city right next to Auburn, for a good church fellowship, too. Trinity is where I attend while in Auburn. ⛪

You are right about the quinine. In fact, that is what I’m taking now. I had a bad reaction to the med I took a week ago and had to stop treatment on Wed. Friday, I retested and now have had to switch to taking quinine. That is a harsh medicine. I suspect that I’m not feeling any malaria symptoms now, but quinine symptoms. I take this through Wednesday, basically 1800 mgs. of quinine per day. I have to take a medicine to be able to take the quinine. 💊

    • edinva says:

Jemian, it sounds horrible, I wish there were a way we could each take a few (hundred) mgs of the quinine to make it easier for you. And you are there how long? Do others in your program have the same issues? Seems from a health perspective you have a Hobson’s choice: take the anti-malaria drugs that make you sick, or get sick with malaria.

M young friend identifies himself as a “Campus Missionary in Training.” I really don’t know a thing about it. He graduated from a VA college last May/June and went to Auburn for Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, USA, training/internship, and seems to love it. I just catch his activities at Facebook. He’s VERY intense about his faith/beliefs. One day he may be choosing to take malaria pills. Or not 😉

Hope this all passes for you very quickly.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

We were off early on a short day trip..

so a late “hi” to everyone, and birthday greetings to you prairie

Now to regular tasks around the house..

    Weather just perfecto!

  7. edinva says:

Good morning, lysie, all. It appears we are in for some ‘interesting times.’ Wish there were some place to escape to where we’d be well and safe, and most important not have to see the destruction of the country we all love so much.

    • lysie says:

Hi, ed. If you find that place, let us know. *sigh*.

I’m trying to be optimistic, but each day it seems the burden gets heavier for people who want to preserve our freedom and other’s rights to exist. I’m sick of people saying it’s racist, sexist, phobic or any other fear word of diversion used by others just because one questions the views or actions of another. *another sigh*

BTW, we lucked out with another purchase. This time it was an U.S.A. made 8 1/2 x 12 foot braided rug in excellent condition. Retail price could have been over $800.00 or more. We paid $50.00

    • edinva says:

lysie, I sure know what area to hit when/if I need new ‘things’ … as it is we are divesting ourselves of ‘stuff,’ handing off to kids what/when we can.

Trying to stay upbeat is a full time job, and I am failing. Badly.

    • lysie says:

      It IS hard , ed.

The only reason we bought the rug is to cover the flooring in the dining area. That area was badly scratching by our sweet little 4 legged babies. Rather than spend mega bucks on new flooring we learned from the libs. Cover it up and pretend the damage is not there.
