Daughter Sarah had to be to work at 4:30 a.m. yesterday. She said that her store had no protesters and that the day went well. I wish I could say the same about other parts of the country.
Which reminds me. Do people window shop anymore? Some of my fondest memories are when mom would take me Christmas shopping just to look at the decorations in the store windows. Many of the stores had large bay windows which made the decorations look lovely. Sometimes she would not purchasw anything…just enjoy looking at the items in the windows.
As you know, I like bargains, but I don’t understand the need to join the stampede.

Hope you are better tomorrow prairie
The snow and cold have eased up a little…this first bit of winter with the strong winds and chill affected me, plus a little bug of some sort.
New thread
Great find on the windows lysie. Molly, I’m a little under the weather too tonight.
Raven, safe travels.
Take care, Molly, and feel better soon.
Jem, great that your hubby will be back soon. I bet you missed him.
Your team has been lacking a bit this year compared to last. Darn!
lysie’s bargain of the week.
I’ve been thinking of a way to enclose the chicken outdoor area. Previous years, I used clear plastic , but that method is unsightly and flimsy. For several months I’ve been keeping an eye on listings for used storm windows. Yesterday, I noticed a listing for 21 storm windows for $100.00. Not bad. I called the number and the (kind) man said he lowered the price to $20.00. When I told him I was going to use them for my chickens he said they were FREE! I said, no….he said yes and that he just wanted to get rid of them and that put to good use.
When we picked them up…..I gave him one dozen eggs. He was happy. We were happy. It doesn’t hurt to be nice.
🙂
That’s so great. You are a wonder!
I’m a little under the weather today, but will be back later…
The Visa has a few lines to read stating that smuggling in alcohol, drugs, etc has the death penalty
Ugh! Will you be able to contact us…here? Take care, Rav.
Check your aftershave, etc. for alcohol content.
Now if you were traveling to the US, you would have no problem. /s
I am taking Listerine….!!! My concern is my emergency travel pills for colds, diarrhea, pepto, whatever…..(actually- I think they are all probably expired years ago anyway)
I leave today !!! The Visa has a few lines to read stating that smuggling in alcohol, drugs, etc has the death penalty (just so the visitor knows)…….I’m going through my travel bag twice – make sure there isn’t anything in there that looks funny.
The case of the missing votersPowerline blog. From the article:
A generation ago, the idea that free enterprise only benefits the rich would have been regarded as ridiculous in the light of history. Today, I fear that a great many Americans believe that free enterprise only favors the rich, or something close to that proposition. This is reflected in the survey done a few months ago that suggested young people have a more favorable view of socialism than capitalism.
Agreed. Sigh…
But the problem with the left is the need for constant propaganda as people can see with their own eyes.
lysie good luck with your accountant. MANY people are asking the questions….not many know the answers…..
Sen. Chambliss will vote for tax increases We’ll see the details…but this doesn’t look good.
Oh well, Let’s all shout: Tax increases NOW…$pending Cuts LATER!!
There, that wasn’t hard was it?!
I’ll be back after retreating for awhile to the padded room I have installed in my house..
That is almost to my breaking point, Molly.
He says he cares for his country?? How Senator Chambliss ? By breaking your promise? If you broke a promise once , what is stopping you from doing it again?
Good that you had a day of enjoyment, Jem.
BTW, WarEagle!! 😉
Re: Shopping. That’s the right way to look at it, Molly.
Good Monday morning!
A surprise to no one is that Gene Chizik is out at Auburn. The rumor is that all the coaches and trainers are also out, a clean sweep. This is really rough but, again, not wholly unexpected.
I’m expecting hubby back from Chang Mai at any moment now.
Thanks for the link, Molly. Proof the idiots have taken over our country. I can’t imagine what our households would look like if we handled them the way they run the country.
You’re welcome….I found a couple more good ones which weren’t available earlier…
about the shopping…our newspaper Thursday was the heaviest with advertising it’s been in years…it just made me think: Is this the last effort before we fall off the spending cliff?..People may be buying bargains now, wondering if they’ll have such a chance in a few short months?
Oh my…
Safe, very safe travels, Raven
We’ve made an appointment with an accountant for advise. I sure hope he’s not a lib because… I’ll pay him… get up….walk out. I don’t want lies and coverups. I want the truth!!
I can picture you yesterday with the grandkids. You had fun, didn’t you?
(((Rav in Saudi)))) When do you leave?
Morning all. Something of a shocker how much crap has been hidden during the election. Now it all trickles out. And, I read in the WSJ today that to pay for all this nonsense and balance the books will take far more than a tax increase of 50% on everybody (no one knows the exact amount). And how do we prosper with no money, no wealth, no electricity? When there are no more rich, than who will pay Zero’s salary?
