America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant January 19 and 20 , 2013 ( Weekend Edition)

Good morning!

Ah, the Inauguration Weekend has arrived, and with it various media reports that the 0 campaign will continue with a new organization: Organizing for Action (OFA). Michelle will debut the new creation tomorrow, and it will be a singular group in American political history…one devoted not to a set of ideas…not attached to a political party….no, it will exist to promote one man & his charismatic leadership. Guess who??

I guess we could found a similar organization: Wake Up America (WUA), but we first have to find our charismatic leader.

Now Algeria…as of late last night, the news was very murky..the fate of the hostages unclear, altho a few have managed to escape BOTH the terrorists and the Algerian forces, who seem to care not a whit about the lives of the hostages.

VERY windy out there…and a * or two* every so often…

    • lysie says:

Yes it is very windy. On the way to breakfast this morning a stop light like the ones below was bobbing up and down like it was on springs. I bet there was at least a five foot downward sway. It looked like the arm was going to snap. The police came to block of the intersection.

Why are these even considered? They look like a safety issue to me. Do we need Feng Shui Sway traffic decor?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh my yes, those things look dangerous….my husband heard someone talking about a tree falling on a car and killing someone overnight…not sure of any details, tho

  4. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. We are going out for breakfast. Yay!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Blueberries! Have you ever tried the choc. Philly Cream Cheese? It is sure good…

    • lysie says:

Ymmmm. Chocolate. I’ve seen it, but have not tried it…….yet. 🙂

      Thanks for the start, Molly.

lysie I recently appropriated your cream cheese stuffed french bread … such a fav!

Soooooooooooo today I skipped town, went out to rural Virginia, had a grand time with friends whose sentiments match ATRWers. We toasted to a better future, exactly at noon. Noticed an NRA decal on the entry door to the restaurant where we ate. So you know it has to be a great place. Had some real country bbq (again!) served with a generous portion of cole slaw, kettle chips and pickle spear, a drink and apple cider donut for a grand total of $8.47 or thereabouts, including tax but not tip..

I decided to take Metro home from my friend’s house on the other end of Fairfax County, to see what the crowds would be like. What crowds you say? All the estimates were downgraded to @ 500K expected at tomorrow’s festivities. Through yesterday, the estimates were @ 800K; around 2M attend in ’08. There was no trouble getting a seat on the Metro, and I did have to transfer. In fairness, any president’s 2nd inaugural is far smaller than the first. Today was beautiful weather-wise for January. I think the temp was 59 @ 3pm. I’m reminded of Reagan’s 2nd when it was so bitter cold they had to cancel everything.

Hi ed . I’m happy you had a great day with friends.

We went to a breakfast buffet. Since we are off Atkins this weekend and since I wanted to celebrate the day by being defiant , I had pancakes, french toast, waffles and other high carb foods. So there Mrs. O.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      I like that cat!

ED Great report….may I ask where you went?? You know my Virginia-loving ways and familiarity…

We’re going out to eat tomorrow…to a new franchise in the area, at least…Zoup! will give a report…however, if it’s too crowded, we may just pass til another day/evening…

    Morning quote

Liberals do a great deal of talking about hearing other points of view, but it sometimes shocks them to learn that there are other points of view.

  6. lysie says:

Taxpayer paid, Organizing for Action…..very troubling…..very.

    • edinva says:

the ONE thing he’s good at: organizing. In the meanwhile, the Rs/Cons flail around, and when they DO organize,, i.e.,Tea Party, get slammed, maligned, and give up. Our only hope is that anything built around a cult of personality is destined to fail fairly quickly. We’ll see.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Enjoy your time in the country ED Sounds like a lot of fun!

    • lysie says:

      Well, how nice. /s Pitiful!

BTW, toward the end of yesterday’s thread you mentioned Facing the Giants and Flywheel. It just happens that I have the Facing the Giants library dvd ready to watch and the Flywheel dvd placed on hold at the library. I’m seriously thinking of buying all of those great movies for my collection.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good…well, I’ll be interested in your opinion of those movies.

I still haven’t bought “Courageous”, but will.

  7. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start and links, Molly.

    Dear press,
Enough already with Lance Armstrong and Te’o hoax. One week of time after time coverage is enough. Thank you.

    Signed, lysie.

  8. Molly Pitcher says:

Hope everyone is well and safe this a.m. I heard a report yesterday about those folks trapped Thurs night on an accident-filled, snowbound AL highway…
