America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant February 23 and 24 , 2013 ( Weekend Edition)

Yippee, it’s the last weekend of February and we are closer to garden planting.

Automatic spending cuts are set to take effect on March 1. Fingers are pointing and the blame game is being played. What a bunch of whiny babies.

    New week’s thread

    Hope everyone is safe, and after a fun weekend.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • queenie says:

      Good sunny Sunday morning. No Robins here yet. ,Saw some a year ago yesterday here.
      I usually hear the Redwing blackbirds first, and that hasn’t happened.
      Return “Argo,” Rav………with a little note on the back reading, “Lies!”
      Hope your Dad sees the light, lysie, and believes it.

      Oops…hit the button…

      NB= Reality – no bull
      PM= Progressive Marxism propaganda

  3. The Raven says:

    The better half and I were thumbing through some DVDs at the store yesterday in search of a good Saturday night view. She came across Argo and held it up for my thumbs up/down vote. I said to her I knew nothing about it other than it was up for an Academy Award and thus probably propaganda. She read the box and said…no it is a true story…so we bought it but it is still in the wrapper. After reading this, I think it will remain in the wrapper. Maybe I can sell it?

  4. edinva says:

    G’day, all.
    We ARE approaching the end of the longest month of the year, albeit with the fewest days. This has not been a terribly harsh winter here (so far) but I am more than ready for Spring to make its appearance.
    Lysie, sorry to read of the ongoing issues with your dad,but thank heavens for the DMV….. OR will he just go out and drive, anyway? My sons had a friend whose license was suspended, didn’t stop him. Have they gotten dad into assisted living yet?
    Molly, I hate to admit we’re at the point of having a POTUS who could be found in bed with the proverbial dead girl or live boy and it wouldn’t make one iota of difference.

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    Today is National Banana Bread Day. Yum.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Oh that looks so good.

      Let me line up some weekend links

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      I hear birds outside, but no robin sightings. We had an ice “event” yesterday a.m., but by late a.m. it was easy to get around.

      Got the latest I PAD, and am learning to use it. The salespeople, 1 in particular, failed at a key point to ask a key question about how I was going to use the thing, so that got us off on a track that needed to be corrected. I wanted one with both cellular and wi-fi capability. So after unwrapping 1 tablet, and figuring out the mistake, I got to unwrap another one. There were other consequences as well to this.

      And I told the salesman that he need to do better.

    From the end of last week’s thread.

    Morning quote:
    Under the Permanent Campaign Shimmy, the president identifies a problem. Then he declines to come up with a proposal to address the problem. Then he comes up with a vague-but-politically-convenient concept that doesn’t address the problem (let’s raise taxes on the rich). Then he goes around the country blasting the opposition for not having as politically popular a concept. Then he returns to Washington and congratulates himself for being the only serious and substantive person in town.
    -New York Times columnist David Brooks, Feb 2013

    • lysie says:

      That quotes is very appropriate for my family in a different direction. Yesterday, dad received a letter from the DMV. His license is suspended. Rather than accept his error, he’s blaming everyone else. Nothing new, but still so very sad.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      That about covers it, even if it is from Brooks. Is the MSM catching on? Will it matter if it does??
