America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- March 25, 2013- March 29, 2013 Remember 9/11

Hello!

This week the USSC hears oral arguments on the California law banning same-sex marriage.

Tonite there are reports that Syria’s despot Assad has been shot and critically injured by one of his own bodyguards.

And this to think about: Think it Can’t Happen Here?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my gosh you are spoiling us! Went and just came back from a walk, and feel slightly light headed….so I’m going to lie down.

  1. Molly Pitcher says:

Time to get serious John Podhoretz

Heading out on errands….maybe that’ll revive me.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie. I made it to services last night….husband couldn’t tho.

Sounds like the EPA is set to make our driving more expensive than it already is..

You know, it seems like we’re getting a little too used to our $3.50+ /gal gas…

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Super!

Yep…another cold front headed this way next week….

    • queenie says:

Good morning. Good on Greg, lysie. He’s THE MAN! 🙂
I like the way you’re organizing links, Molly. Guess we need to re-define SPRING, huh?
Prayers for your men and their families, Jem.
Hope you’re having a good trip, Rav.
Respite from politics/news is a fine idea, Prairie. Sure helps the BP. Let us find joy in Christ’s resurrection…….always.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi queenie….that’s good…Redefine spring…guess we won’t consult AlGore, either, right??!

  3. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody,, I hope everyone is having a blessed Holy Week. I’ve taken a break from a lot of politics and news this week…..very welcome respite.

Molly do you still get together with your ladies’ investment group? That sounds so interesting I wish I had friends here who would think about getting even a small account open to try some investing.

lysie great to read about Greg’s new job!

Jemian I share your rage. And outrage.

    • lysie says:

Thanks, Prairie. He will have to get used to the fact that he is inspecting the drilling not working the drill rig. Hands off Greg. Ha!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, prairie…our investment club is still active, altho we lost a member this winter….I mean she had to resign from the group. And we’re not just ladies…we’re about equally divided between guys and dolls.. It’s a good mix

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

The Combustible mix of guns and race Juan Williams…some honesty here..

    • lysie says:

Good for Juan for stating the truth. Rather than gun control how about family control? Teach your children values and know where your children are and who their friends are.

Honestly, I think I take care of my chickens better than some moms and dads. Teaching roosters and aggressive hens is no easy task, but someone has to do it 😉

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, I heard Prager talk about this article and invite callers to discuss…one woman called from Philly… she had changed her registration a few years ago from D to R…but her father years before had told her that the Dem party would destroy Blacks. He, a Black, had always voted R.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Several more conservative Blacks called in and spoke honestly too about the situation of crime…dependency…the lack of men role models…racism can not be blamed for all this, they said….

    • Prairie says:

How about children knowing who their daddy is…..sigh.

    • lysie says:

      That, too , Prairie.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

In search of “The Searchers” I love John Ford’s movies…so am so glad to read about this book!

  7. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. The robins were singing when I went out to the barn. Beautiful!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning and thank you lysie……

Do you think I should let the week’s links accumulate, IOW… just add, but not delete day by day?

I heard some of LImbaugh yesterday…I have to give him credit for taking on the gay “marriage” issue…economics & politics are his strong suits, but values, while always part of his program….well, he could drop those in this situation, and I’m sure he’s under pressure to do so…well, I take my hat off to him.

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Molly. Add, not delete, might be a good idea. That way if we discuss a link it will be there to reference.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, and a number of us don’t get here every day, too..Thanks!

    • Jemian says:

I like the idea of accumulating links. Thanks, Molly. Also, for chronology, delineate which are Monday’s, Tuesdays, etc. Unless it is too much trouble.
I hover between rage and more rage.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      I will do that Jemian

Did you hear about that accident over the weekend at the Birmingham airport? A large new sign fell at the recently renovated airport…on a family passing thru from FLA to their home in the midwest….one of the children was killed…several others were seriously injured, and the father and another son were ok….a freak accident.

    • Jemian says:

I heard about that sad event. I understood that the union labor skimped on the details and either didn’t put the bolts in correctly or didn’t put in all that were required or something like that. As I said, I bounce between rage and white-hot rage.

  9. lysie says:

Prayers up for JT and all of you, Jem.

    • Jemian says:

Thank you, All, for your prayers. Yesterday was a rough day as I was adjusting to this thinking. My son-in-law is leaving next week for South Korea for a year. I am concerned with that crazy man to the north of him. Also, Korean food isn’t on our top cusines and I just heard that he isn’t too favorably inclined either. Anyway, I got a good night’s rest and the Lord is already righting my way of thinking. We trust Him anyway for life and health, in the “safety” of home and on the battle field and whatever He does is right.

    • Jemian says:

I forgot to ask: have you heard any further word on Eric?

    • Jemian says:

Oh! I scrolled down and there is my answer. Prayers continuing. I’ve noticed that a depression seems to follow heart surgery or a heart attack.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Where will he be stationed over there? Understand this concern also Jemian

We’re supposed to get more **** tonite….I’m dreaming of a White Easter…Sounds good right????

    • Jemian says:

Yes, he’ll be stationed at Camp Casey outside of Seoul for about a year. The army, ever in its support of families, decided that my daughter could not accompany. She’s in Lubbock TX at his grandmother’s house for the year. It didn’t help my disposition to read yesterday that NK is aiming nukes all over the Pacific

  10. Molly Pitcher says:

Since Raven is away and not available to post any good quotes, I found this from an article by Jack Kelly “Look to Detroit & You’ll see where 0’s politics will take us”:

The problem is that liberals judge policies on the basis of what is promised, not on what is delivered. That’s because liberalism in practice means:

    • A large and expensive public work force but deteriorating public services. Detroit in 2011 had 12,900 city employees, one for every 55 residents. Of the cities closest to Detroit in population, Columbus, Ohio, had one city employee for every 95 residents; Charlotte, N.C., had one for every 109; Fort Worth had one for every 118 residents.

Schools stink, buses are late and infrastructure deteriorates because Democratic politicians depend on public employee unions for votes and campaign contributions. So they hire as many public employees as they can, overpay them and don’t require them to do much.

    • High taxes. Despite an average home price barely more than a tenth that of the next lowest city, Detroit has the highest property taxes in the country, according to a 2011 study. When all city levies are included, Detroit had the ninth-highest taxes. Because median income is so low, the tax burden on Detroiters is heavier than these data indicate.

High property taxes have spurred tax evasion on a mammoth scale — half of Detroiters don’t pay their property tax bills — and flight to the suburbs.

    • Massive debt. Detroit’s long- term debt is $14 billion, equivalent to nearly a third of what the city collects in taxes. Detroit’s finances are in such bad shape that last week Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder appointed an emergency manager to restructure them.

Democrats emphasize redistribution of wealth. Before wealth can be redistributed, it must be created. Liberal policies destroy wealth. Those who suffer most are precisely those Democrats say they’re helping. In the Detroit of 1950 — when no city in the world was creating more wealth — the poor and the middle class were far better off.

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

I have to take the car to the garage….back in a few to post more links….

    • lysie says:

We will be leaving within the hour to get our truck inspected. New brakes less than one year old..check…all the lights work… check….No cracks on light lenses…check…Exhaust system …fine…check.

It should pass with flying colors.

  13. Jemian says:

Jemian’s Terror is deploying to Afghanistan for 8 months. Any day now, maybe by the time you read this.

  14. lysie says:

Greg is now employed once again. Not only that, but they are giving him $5.00/hr more than his original request. Methinks they are happy to have someone with his experience and work ethics. I am so very proud of him.

  15. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

The important point is that the political ideals of a people and its attitude toward authority are as much the effect as the cause of the political institutions under which it lives. This means, among other things, that even a strong tradition of political liberty is no safeguard if the danger is precisely that the new institutions and policies will gradually undermine and destroy that spirit.
    — “The Road to Serfdom,” by Friedrich Hayek

  16. The Raven says:

When I was a young pup (many moons ago)…I was in the UK on business listening to the BBC. There was an obvious lib ranting about people getting medical care who smoked, drank, etc. He was advocating they go to last place in the various queues as they brought it on themselves. No such punishment was to be administered for lib-friendly abusers of health care – (such as AIDs). It dawned on me at that time, that the reason the libs wanted universal health is so they can control who gets what and it became my source of distaste for Clinton-care, Obamacare, and all others in-between. So, now I read …it’s starting here. Smokers are fined $3000 / head and seniors are universally screwed just because they are seniors,

  17. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start and links, Molly.

  18. Molly Pitcher says:

Apparently the Administration is sending out signals that it will NOT under any circumstances enforce ANY border security, and even very lib Dems are disturbed by this…Byron York reporting…

  19. Molly Pitcher says:

No snow yet in my neck of the woods….was supposed to start by now…
