America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- July 22- July 26, 2013 Remember 9/11

Hello!

Michigan Gov. Snyder says he wants no bailout for Detroit.

The Cong. Black Caucus is so far undecided about calling for a boycott of FL goods in the wake of the Zimmerman verdict.

And those rallies organized by Sharpton and others across the country this past weekend? Well, I believe they were mostly quiet and uneventful.

The really big news is that the Pres. and his family have left for their “Vineyard” vacation, and you know what that means! Yes, yes, he may actually refrain from any speeches, camera appearances and interviews….well we can hope, right? I wonder if they left the teleprompter back at the WH???

    Hi All,
This fist bump disgusts me every time I see it. I don’t remember it coming into realization until I saw the “0xxxx” fist bump during the campaign of 2008.

But the more apt image is of a basketball player with one shoe nailed to the floor, constantly pivoting in a circle.

      Perfect!

Today our 25 year old horse ,Playboy , is having surgery to remove a melanoma growth . The vet said that it is common in older grey horses. Still, I’m concerned. He’s such a good boy.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ah…Praying that all will go well with your much loved horse

    • lysie says:

Molly and till. Sarah said thank you and hugs for the prayers. PB is a little groggy. It went well. The vet will be back Wednesday for a checkup.

Sarah said to me, “Mom. You want to know how much I care for PB? I was out holding PB while the vet was working on him. A spider crawled up my neck and I didn’t flinch. ”

After telling me that ,she proceeded to get the creepy-crawlies. Spiders are the only thing she can’t stand….Snake, mice, rats, you name it don’t bother her, but spiders…..egad!!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      AAAAACK!

Glad PB and Sarah are all right

  3. Molly Pitcher says:

    So….

What do you think about DEFUNDING 0Care??

Did you hear about the guy rescued off Montauk after treading water for hours and hours?

And how about the 2 women hikers, rescued in the Maine wilderness area when they got lost, then, returned to their car, drove it off a ramp into the water, and drowned???

    • tillacum says:

Defunding the whole thing, then throwing it away.

    • tillacum says:

Oh Molly, I hope the pubs can defund oscare. If they can hold together, for once, and pull it off. Of course they will have to do it in a way, should the dems close down the gov’t, they can blame the dems for the shut down, and not them. Remember cllinton shut down the gov’t over thanksgiving and blamed the pubs for it. Newt just couldn’t get the truth out to the public.

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  5. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody! Checking in here after an absence for a couple of weeks. We had a great time at the music festival and then I had a wonderful experience at my ministry conference. They took such good care of us, and it was wonderful to meet staff, other counselors etc.

Now, we’ve returned to our place amidst the deer, elk and bear. No bear or elk spotted so far, but plenty of deer. I remember dear Toby, talking to him about seeing bear on occasion.

Hope all are well here, thanks for the links as always.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh very good! Glad all went well, and you were diverted from the news I hope!

Do you adjust easily to the altitude?

    • Prairie says:

Hi Molly, yes the news break was very welcome. We’ve been acclimating for 3 weeks at various altitudes, so I’m doing pretty well so far. I’ve realized that if I simply bring down the intensity of my aerobic walking / cross training exercise routine, I can make the two mile distance. At sea level I usually do 3 miles, but hey…..the air is THIN up here!

It’s important to take it slower and easier here though…..and drink, drink, drink water. Dehydration is always just around the corner, and by the time you develop that….you’re altitude sick.

Thankfully, my blood pressure also seems to be holding better so far……I was prepared to increase the dose on my med, but haven’t done so yet. Praise God!

    • lysie says:

Hi Prairie. Thanks for checking in.

It seems like I think of dear Toby each morning I post breakfast….grits..no grits??

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh very good. You have a plan and use it well. Do see any hummingbirds? We saw quite a number in June….some with some eye-catching maneuvers…The tiny things would head straight up, and then “dive bomb” down…over and over again.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

0 on the Precipice? Steven Hayward at Powerline..

Good day…outside, lovely…yard and garden work. inside, cleaning, etc. chores…some shopping and dropped some items off at Goodwill

It would be nice to have a fairly slow, relaxing weekend?…I can hope, right?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh! Chocolate covered bacon! Anyone had this? Liked it? It was served, and made much of, at a wedding rehearsal dinner we attended some weeks ago…

I can’t say it was a hit with me, but it was good to try it, yes…the opinions seemed divided between that kind of idea, and loving it absolutely…

    • lysie says:

Never had chocolate bacon , I’ve heard about it.

On an off low carb day I’m going to have a Wendy’s Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. Sounds yummy.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Isn’t there something like Bacon Ice Cream too? Michelle 0 would not approve…

    • tillacum says:

Gads, you have a full plate…did you accomplish it all? I couldn’t.

    • tillacum says:

Remember when the IRS SCANDALS first broke…nobama said he would get to the bottom of it. Well…I see he’s wading around in the IRS muck and all he can find is a
PHONY scandal. He’s kneed deep and can’t see for the muck.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Every day 0 plays us, and some are willing to be played….till Your description is very good…. See above links …

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  8. The Raven says:

Zero is beginning in earnest to blame his mess on the House Republicans……

Rather than reduce our deficits with a scalpel–by cutting programs we don’t need, fixing ones we do, and making government more efficient–this same group has insisted on leaving in place a meat cleaver called the sequester that has cost jobs, harmed growth, hurt our military, and gutted investments in American education and scientific and medical research that we need to make this country a magnet for good jobs.

The libs at work are starting to spew their propaganda also….that the Pubs are obstructing….Congress isn’t doing anything…..
    All aimed at 2014.

  9. lysie says:

    Strategy 101

Said to self…”lysie , start trimming bushes with hand held non electric hedge trimmer. Maybe Greg will come along with the electric trimmer and finish the trimming.” He did and he said, “see how much easier it is?” I said, “Yes. That was my plan.” Ha!! LOL

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. The Raven says:

Morning quote from Scott Johnson on Powerline:

The new type has emerged in New York, but he won’t remain confined there. He is a predatory animal. He will overcome our resistance, which was none too high to begin with. It is now substantially worn down. We have seen the future and it is Weiner Spitzer.

    ….too funny !!!

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

More Rain! Someone turn off the Rain Machine!

Well before I forget I want to tell you about a baby at the reunion last week…this little boy, 3 or so months old, was the youngest attendee..

He was absolutely the “talking-est” little thing I’ve ever seen! Very placid, he rarely cried, but sure talked a lot, using all his face to do so…his forehead would furrow, his lips move around , his eyes meet yours, and away he’d go, pausing for you to contribute to the conversation!…very serious and earnest! It was important stuff, too, altho what…he had us all guessing…but the variety of sounds he produced was amazing!

Once or twice he did cry, just a little, then, he started talking and pulled himself away from the kind of crying jag you’d normally hear…Just darling!

    • lysie says:

      Aw, so cute.

Not much rain here for the past week.

Greg picked some lettuce and purple beans ” magic beans” from our garden. Tomorrow may be a BLT day.

  13. Molly Pitcher says:

Lying in the age of 0 Victor Davis Hanson

    • tillacum says:

Clapper has been around a long, long time. Remember when he lied for the clintons? Remember when we knew something was not true, we called it a “clapper”? He hasn’t changed..
Lies begin with the oval office and move right down the administration.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      That’s for sure.

  14. Molly Pitcher says:

So the IRS scandal is reigniting…

  15. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

UGH…..got involved in a time consuming project yesterday. Making arrangements for a complicated Fall trip, and it just ate up the time, using some sites I was less or not at all familiar with, plus ended up having to make some calls to the airline…almost an hour on hold. Oh well, today I’ll be here more often.

So Zimmerman helped a family in need along a Sanford highway, and there’s doubt it wasn’t staged???

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      That is simply delicious!

    • lysie says:

If it was staged why stop for a white couple? Why not black? Oh ..too obvious. The left can turn and twist anything.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Over at Hot Air, they are comparing it to living out a Tom Wolfe novel, LOL!

Well, in the Age of 0bama, it’s hard to tell what’s real, and what is not

    • lysie says:

Ha! True. Can’t win no matter what. That’s why at times I don’t bother. Let the libs rant away. Eventually, it is evident who is the nutcase. Ha!

    • tillacum says:

      Looks interesting.

  16. The Raven says:

I presume the same people who loathe voter ID for whatever reason will welcome the intrusive OCare databases of all humans.

    testing 1-2-3

  17. lysie says:

    This is wonderful.

  18. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start, Molly.

  19. Jemian says:

Hello! And, the Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to the hospital in London in labor. I’m wishing her a safe and happy delivery and many years of family love.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Very nice, and how are You?

    • Jemian says:

I’m fine, thank you. Things are going along very smoothly. The trip to and from Singapore was successful, all the major objectives were accomplished. I’m in major prayer for our country.

I am saddened to report that one of my home churches was struck by lightning a week ago Saturday night. Although the sanctuary and narthex suffered no fire damage, the water and smoke affected it enough that the insurance company totalled the entire building. My youngest was the next-to-last bride married there, with one of her closest friends being the last. We’re emotional about the building but know that ultimately it is just a temporal location.

    • lysie says:

      Sad about the church.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Glad to hear your Singapore report. I’m thinking that church will find the way to rebuild and rededicate a new building, yes!

    • Jemian says:

The baby is a boy! Congratulations to the family.

  20. The Raven says:

Morning Quote from Shelby Steele (WSJ)

The verdict that declared George Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin was a traumatic event for America’s civil-rights establishment, and for many black elites across the media, government and academia. When you have grown used to American institutions being so intimidated by the prospect of black wrath that they invent mushy ideas like “diversity” and “inclusiveness” simply to escape that wrath, then the crisp reading of the law that the Zimmerman jury displayed comes as a shock.

On television in recent weeks you could see black leaders from every background congealing into a chorus of umbrage and complaint. But they weren’t so much outraged at a horrible injustice as they were affronted by the disregard of their own authority. The jury effectively said to them, “You won’t call the tune here. We will work within the law.”

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Excellent! Thanks Raven

Tom Sowell also had so great columns along the way…

    • tillacum says:

Yep, so they gather together some “non thinkers” to hold rallies in 100 (?) towns? The likes of jessie and alsie need to “rally” the people still on the plantation to keep their bank accounts with travelling money.

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote from WSJ:

It turns out that Mr. Obama participated in such an examination almost a decade ago and emerged as a stand-your-ground proponent. Illinois Review, a conservative blog, recently unearthed Illinois Senate records showing that then-state Senator Obama voted for and even co-sponsored a 2004 bill that expanded the protection of the state’s 1961 stand-your-ground law to include immunity from civil liability for people who use deadly force to defend themselves or their property. The bill wasn’t controversial in the liberal legislature, passing the Senate without dissent and the state House with only two nays before then-Governor Rod Blagojevich, also a Democrat, signed it.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Kinda surprising that old vote of 0’s, right??

  21. Molly Pitcher says:

Everyone, enjoy a quiet & safe ending to your weekend.

And…looking forward to a week of steady, purposeful work, myself…

My husband is watching Laurel and Hardy in Spanish…TCM….guess he finds that relaxing.
