America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant July 27 and July 28 , 2013 ( Weekend Edition)

Something I’ve been thinking about that I’m not sure how to explain. The past several years I’ve noticed that when some men greet or congratulate each other instead of a handshake a “fist bump” is used. I grew up around men who gave firm handshakes. The symbolic meaning I got when seeing a handshake was the men were secure enough to offer an open hand.

Are men choosing fist bumps over handshake for sanitary reasons? Do men think fist bumps are cool?

    What the heck!!

School has been out for a little over one month and I see stores stocked with school supplies and ads on TV.

Plus, today I saw fall decorations in store.

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. AND proud to announce that I don’t *know* a single person who fist bumps. First I heard of it was when the NYer mag had the cartoon of *that couple* doing it. Just don’t get it and it’s not worth my time to try to figure it out. (I’m so out of touch, I am still sort of repulsed by the ubiquitous Clinton-inspired ‘man hug’). Let’s hear it for the good old-fashioned handshake!
Has anyone else been to the Jersey Shore since Sandy? I didn’t know what to expect, but the rebuilding has been impressive. The beach house where we stay had to be gutted and rebuilt as was the case with practically everything else in the hood, but it was very well and beautifully done. The shops and restaurants looked the same as last year,(to look at them it was as if nothing happened) and rarin’ to go. Unfortunately, the tourists weren’t there. Someone said tourism is off @60%. On top of the storm devastation, the clean up and rebuilding to prepare for “the season,” the drop off in tourism has to be devastating economically. So sad, even if it is New Jersey 😉
Best part of vacay was being O news-deprived! Nothing, nada, did I see for 10 glorious days. Now back to what passes for reality.

Perhaps the economy is hurting tourism? Too bad…but we’ve seen that in some of our trips to places the past few years, and we just put a trip on hold…not one to visit family…we’ll always do that, but one of those extra trips…

      0bama world…

      glad you back!

Maybe some of you have heard of the 2 recall elections in Colorado over the incredibly unconstitutiuonal laws passed by the rabid and fanatic Colorado leftist legislature earlier this year. The big one is the recall election of the President of the Colorado Senate, John Morse. The other one is a crat State House member. Morse was in lockstep with Governor John Hickenlooper (what a stupid name) who was in lockstep with Bloomberg and Biden, who were making frantic calls to members of the Crat legislature during the days preceeding these gun votes. There were ‘hearings’ before the votes and we gun rights advocates outnumbered the opposition overwhelmingly, and they ignored us. All of these insane gun bills passed and Hickenlooper hurriedly signed them all into law. The recall elections are on September 10th. We have a good gun guy running against him.
On a somewhat related matter , I believe the most idiotic utterance (even more stupid than that stupid crat that thought the island would capsize if too many troops arrived), I have heard from a politician was when Biden spoke about telling his wife to fire a shotgun into the night if she hears some noise outside. This man should never be allowed to be near a firearm, nor even the SS protecting him, for fear that he might get one of their guns in his hands.
One more comment. People often say, when the subject of impeachment is brought up for Biden’s ‘boss’ (remember, he never held a job and was nothing more than a community organizer, and now he is in arguably the most powerful position on the planet), look who would be replacing the rabble rouser. I understand why they say this, however, Biden’s ‘boss’ is far more terrifying than Biden. BTW, impeachment of Biden’s ‘boss’ is possible like it was with Clinton, but removal from office is an impossibility. He could be beheading babies on the White House front lawn and the Crat Senate would never vote to remove him from office. They would just say the babies were going to die anyway.

2/3rds….it’s VERY distressing what’s happened in CO the past few years

I hope people will wake UP and change course!!

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Very filling….how’s PB?

Rain, rain yesterday, then it cleared up….Terrific game last night between the Tribe and the Rangers…HA, ha! The Native Americans won…

    • lysie says:

      PB is doing well, thanks.
We had a downpour last night, too. I can’t believe I’m going to say this , but….we needed it.
Friday night I got a glimpse of Swisher on the TV at the Legion. What did he do now? Ha!

    • tillacum says:

This morning, I think we’re going to have steak and eggs with fries and bisquits. Haven’t done that in a long, long time. OH, with a cuppa and orange juice.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      What’s a “Swisher”? LOL!

Well, I’m thinking he was moved from the clean up spot.. the pressure is off, and he’s more productive so far the second part of the season…: my Swisher report brought to you by N.E. Ohio Tribe fan!

  4. The Raven says:

Well….we are off today for a week’s vacation in Hilton Head. Since the PC will be left home (maybe).. I will probably be checking in with an iPad and typing is reduced to short spurts. So you’ll be one short in the battle for truth, justice, and the American way (did the Commies win the cold war?)

  5. Two Thirds says:

    Hi All,
This fist bump disgusts me every time I see it. I don’t remember it coming into realization until I saw the “0xxxx” (I can’t even type that d^^%ed name) fist bump during the campaign of 2008.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

Behold the last Democrat PJM…we can only hope…

Ahem….I did something naughty this a.m…
In the women’s dressing room at the gym…there were 2 political flyers lying on a counter….for a Dem running for City Council.

I threw them in the trash.

  7. Jemian says:

Good morning! I don’t know the answers to that, but I think it looks dumb.

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
