America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant October 26 and 27 , 2013 ( Weekend Edition)

How can this be? /s

It’s being reported by The Daily Caller that the company connected with the ObamaCare website is none other than a pal of Michele Obama. Toni Townes-Whitley is senior vice president at CGI Federal. Townes-Whitley was a classmate of Mrs. O at Princeton and SGI Federal was given the “NO BID” contract.

I’m sure it’s just all a coinky-dink.

More legal trouble for Affordable Care Act

Good morning everybody. Our song at church went well even though we had to leave the house at o-dark-thirty to get there to set up. I love it when the pastor incorporates social issues such as euthanasia and abortion into his sermons, as he did this morning. (against both, naturally)

Have a blessed Lord’s day everybody, thanks for the prayers.

    Good morning everyone.

Oh, oh, OH!!!! Just remembered something…

on my recent trip…breakfast was a big thing…one place we ate at, the French toast was out of this world. So I asked about the unusual flavor….the slices of bread had been dipped in melted ice cream!! I guess you could try different flavors, but this was vanilla, and it was so good.

    I actually attempted healthcare.gov a third time–same result.

But…..what is the deal with these high prices and extremely high deductibles? Where are the people signing up for $5000 deductibles going to get that kind of money? Is that the secret with O-Care? The only way to get O-care prices down is to have sky-high co-pays? Which begs the question – what would O-Care cost without the sky-high co-pays?

Milton Friedman proposed his solution as a sky high deductible catastrophic insurance policy AND a medical savings account where individuals can save up to pay for the co-pays and catastrophic regular visits.

Are there any journalists out there brave enough to cover this?

    • lysie says:

The high deductibles are frightening. Will hospitals demand payment in advance?
      Such a mess.

      Morning quotes:

It may seem hardly worthwhile going to the polls to vote this election year, since ACORN and the media have already decided that Barack Obama is to be the next President of the United States.

      -Thomas Sowell Oct 2008

Voters need to remember on Nov. 4 that when Marx’s books are selling well and communists are happy, we are headed for trouble

      – INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY editorial October 16, 2008
When the Communist Party USA approvingly says Obama would “advance progressive politics for the long term” — run.

-Larry Elder

“[H]as there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements? “

- Charles Krauthammer

What really eats at me is that I’m constantly put in the position of not voting for or against a candidate but for or against the Constitution. For or against giving up more power and rights. For or against the road to serfdom.

2008 ..So much..in so little time… has been taken from the people.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Another problem is we’ve gotten so used to med. insurance covering every little thing…thats where the HSAs would be helpfulin training us to use OUR money more wisely…

Raven I’m going to delete the one post you made which is a duplicate and somehow got garbled as it posted….

    • The Raven says:

MP–You can delete the other one as well (oldest)…..I noticed there was a CHANGE option which I took to mean I could edit my post…..but each time I edited, it reposted it.

    • The Raven says:

OOOOHHHHH …I see…the Change is for changing wordpress to facebook, etc

Well, appropo of nothing. It is good to see all you folks here. I’m fine, and apart from the usual bumps and aggravations, things are going well. I’ve had a nice quiet weekend. Friday starts NaNoWriMo and my class is participating in the Young Writer’s Program. So, that’s about all. Love, love.

    • lysie says:

Hi Jem. and Prairie. Good seeing you ladies here. Prayers for both of you.

With each day.s uncertainty sometimes I wish I could stay in bed and cover my head. However, there is too much at risk and we must continue to be strong.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning Jemian Take care….your students are lucky indeed to have you there

  5. Prairie says:

Hello everybody, thanks for the thread and links. Crazy busy week here, throw in some unexpected things and we are whupped. Going to play a number for church in the morning so we have to be around early. We’re watching the World Series. I don’t have a big dog in the game, and I was glad to see Boston beat Detroit.

  6. lysie says:

Love the Steyn article Molly. ObamaCare is like the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour. Both are senseless and useless. Can any lib get away from the touchy-feely type of thinking and depend more on good old common sense?

    • lysie says:

While I wish I could be optimistic that some people have had enough, I’m realistic enough to know that all O has to do is dangle another carrot in front of them to keep them running in his direction.

      *sigh* I pray I’m wrong.

  7. tillacum says:

I’m wondering how much kick-back the nobama’s got. When I worked for the gumbit, everything
went out on bid, even the world’s most important item, toilet paper.
