America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- October 28-November 1, 2013 Remember 9/11

Hello!

The Rs may be stumbling into offensive mode vs. 0Care. Maybe Cruz and Lee were on to something? Maybe they were anticipating the website debacle and seeding the ground so to speak….

More hearings planned for next week, and serious, deeper looks at the law and its effects on health care, affordability, doctor/patient relationships, etc.

In the meantime, enjoy the SNL video embedded in this PJMedia piece:

  1. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody, thanks for the links. Such a busy week here and next week looks to be even busier. I appreciate the news links and I hope to be able to participate more in the conversation at some point. We’re healthy and blessed though, so grateful for that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi prairie….yes does it ever quiet down? Some days….a little.

We are going to a prayer service tomorrow night for the persecuted church around the world….I mean, really, really persecuted…Our church along with a few others have organized it….glad to say.

  2. Molly Pitcher says:

Does the President understand how the insurance market works? hmmm…..hmmmm….hmmmm. NO!

Well we are off shortly for appt., then errands ..then lunch with old friend…talk about making one trip count…Don’t have to worry about supper either since my husband has plans with a group he has just joined.

A little disappointed that there is still garden work to do…couldn’t quite handle it all this week, despite the good weather for the most part. Other things took over. And you know?? It’s hard to get as much done each day as previously…

    • tillacum says:

You have that right. Things were did a few years ago, take a little longer today.

Good Morning Everyone. Tomorrow is Community Garden Day, hopefully we have a
      good group.

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It’s still dark, so no telling how many leaves fell overnight….or other tree stuff….heard the weather radio go off at least twice, but didn’t get up to hear the details…

    • lysie says:

Windy, here too. I haven’t been out with the “boys” yet. I’m debating to keep then in the barn today.

  4. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

Obamacare is the largest transfer of wealth in recent American history. But you can’t say that openly lest you lose elections. So you do it by subterfuge: hidden taxes, penalties, mandates and coverage requirements that yield a surplus of overpayments.

So that your president can promise to cover 30 million uninsured without costing the government a dime. Which from the beginning was the biggest falsehood of them all. And yet the free lunch is the essence of modern liberalism. Free mammograms, free preventative care, free contraceptives for Sandra Fluke. Come and get it.

    -C Krauthammer

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Come and get it indeed…

I’m happy to make “transfer payments” such as they are, but MY CHOICE, thank you very much, AND I/we make CHOICES as to our own situation to make those gifts. I don’t need a politician making those decisions for me.

    • lysie says:

      Good quote, Rav. Thanks.

It’s not working. It won’t work. Liberals rarely if ever admit when they are wrong.

  5. lysie says:

    This headline ticks me off!!!!

Deep cuts to country’s food stamp program start Friday

    $9.00 a week is a deep cut?

We have cut back and saved $50.00 per month in food , $60.00 for gas, got rid of cable and are heating with wood from our property. Sorry.. I have little sympathy for a decrease of $36 a month when Greg’ s cousin has an increase for health care of $600 a month.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I hear ya! And good for you on those savings….

The price of gas has been lower these past few weeks. So that has been a help

The talk of inflation scares me A LOT….and it is such casual talk too…among Those In the Know….

    • lysie says:

Also, the gas savings is because we rarely are going to stores on a whim. When out I suggest stopping at the stores in the area for all necessities. We live about 6 miles to any grocery store. It’s senseless to travel that far for one item.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

Winds and rain have picked up, but could be worse….lysie….your area may have stronger winds it looks like.

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Thank you!

Now this Oct. 1 roll out date…when WAS it set? Was it really picked with the budget showdown in mind? If so….talk about hoist on your own petard…since the date ended up driving the roll out , instead of readiness…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

At Powerline…..Washington Redskins will keep their name, And that’s too bad in a way. As a reader points out, many Americans, Indian and otherwise, are offended these days by the “Washington” part of the name. HA! I like that twist to the story….don’t you?

  8. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

The statesman who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they ought to employ their capitals would not only load himself with a most unnecessary attention, but assume an authority which could safely be trusted, not only to no single person, but to no council or senate whatever, and which would nowhere be so dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it.

Adam Smith, “The Wealth of Nations” (1776) – on Obama

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  10. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

The president and the Democrats lied us into a bad law. The Right opposed the law on principle. A single party — the Democrats — own this law in a way that no party has had complete ownership of any major social legislation in a century. They bought this legislation with deceit and the GOP said so. Now that it is going into effect, the facts on the ground are confirming that deceit. Moreover, the same haughty condescending bureaucrats and politicians who told us they were smart enough and tech-savvy enough to do just about anything are being exposed as incompetent political hacks. And this is the moment when Sargent thinks the GOP should simply throw in the towel and work with the Democrats to make Obamacare bipartisan?
    -Jonah Goldberg

  11. Jemian says:

Many of you have known that our son, Jemians Terror, has been working in a very dangerous part of the world. Please rejoice with us because God has preserved him safely through this third tour.

    Ps. 91:1

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

    So….what’s going on??

    • lysie says:

Greg had a cardiologist appointment. He has lost 14 pounds and his dr. is pleased with his bp. He told her that his GP tried to kill him with the bp meds. he prescribes. Her eyes popped open wide.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Wow….well, he’s ok now thank goodness?!

      Ok here’s a little joke ……

What do you say when you hear that some 20 “navigators” listed as such for Iowa ACA applicants didn’t know they were navigators?

      Answer: Error404….0bama administration

    • lysie says:

      LOL

Oh! Another thing about the dr. visit. When G was checking in the receptionist told him it is $20.00 co-pay. G said, ” I thought it would be free. Are you telling me the president lied to me?” (he knew it wasn’t free…..just wanted to get in a dig)

The receptionist said, “Don’t get me started.” Methinks she is not pleased.

  13. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  14. The Raven says:

From today’s WSJ ed. on the NY mayor race

It’s true that the reality of governing has tempered the youthful pipedreams of other left-wing activists who achieved power, such as former President Lula da Silva in Brazil. But what’s striking about Bill de Blasio is how unreconstructed a man of the left he remains.

In the 1980s he romanced the revolutionary Marxism of Nicaragua’s Sandinistas, Castro’s communism and even Mugabe in Zimbabwe. Even now he praises their idealism, including that hoariest of clichés that Cuba has a model health-care system. South Bronx residents would picket City Hall if they had Cuba’s health care.

  15. The Raven says:

Molly….so glad you put that inflation link.

I can’t believe it…inflation is good ? Of course they are preparing the talking heads for the propaganda……because it must be coming in spades. And it is not good. This President is so depressing. Say that again….inflation is good? So the strategy is to pass a huge mess to someone else? Stopping inflation is a must.

Wonder what he thinks” about all this??

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ha,ha….love the title of that piece.

I about drove off the road laughing yesterday when Limbaugh, after listing all the things 0 doesn’t seem to know about, asked “does he know he’s president?” Thought to myself….well he seems to know where the presidential golf course is…

    • tillacum says:

Amazing this creature has been elected twice.

  16. Prairie says:

Girl smuggled into Britain to have her ‘organs harvested’

Probably a group of kids, not just one. As if things aren’t bad enough in the news….

    Good evening everybody.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      A true Halloween story…..horrible.

Seems like more and more of these atrocities are find some rationale among the intelligentsia….Gosnell….death panels….

  17. lysie says:

OK. I’m awake. Going to see if I can watch all of the game tonight.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, watching some of it too….

Changing subjects, but cat is adjusting better to the meds he is now taking. His stomach was really upset like clockwork for several days. The vet tech gave me some options, but I stumbled into my own and it seems to be working…..changed the time I gave him the medicine.

Her idea was to alter his feeding schedule and pattern. That seem like a loser for an old cat and owner used to our ways.

    • lysie says:

Happy to hear your cat and you have worked things out. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss thing.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Finally a nice, straightforward rendition of the national anthem, thanks to Harry Connick…a tad too fast a tempo, but I am quibbling. He sounded a little nervous getting going so that probably explains it , and for sure too often it is performed way too slow.

Ok, that’s my music critique for the week

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, he really needs to take the medicine….blood work in a couple of weeks to see how it is working.

Have you finished all your outdoor and barn work?

    • lysie says:

      Yes. Connick did well.

You must be a mind reader. Today I worked on the other stall. Greg wasn’t feeling well so I did it myself. When he feels better I will have him check to see if I did it to meet his specs. LOL

This time I’m not sore. Just numb. Numb is better than sore.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes. I am a mind reader. Be careful. 🙂

    • lysie says:

Oh! I will be careful! Very careful! lol

  18. Molly Pitcher says:

The Benghazi Ball. Let ‘s not take our eyes off that…..

    • lysie says:

Gosh , CBS’s eyes were closed. Now at least there is a squint of investigative reporting. Will it continue to a full eye-opener? I won’t hold my breath.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Did you hear Limbaugh today?

He is fit to be tied over the intellectual class’s failure to see 0 for what he is….both Left and Right…. Going back years. …Of course, on the part of the Left now, there is a desperate attempt to separate itself from 0, and preserve at least some of its credibility…

I didn’t hear the whole show, but reading some of the various blog stories think that is some of what is going on

    • lysie says:

No. I didn’t. I might check the transcript. Thanks for the tip.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

The Benghazi nightmare still gets to me. I hope the families got some degree of satisfaction from that program

  19. Molly Pitcher says:

R Embrace of Welfare State This is what disturbs us so much….

    Exhibit 1…my state’s R Kasich wanting to expand Medicaid….

    • lysie says:

Kasich….discouraging to say the least. I don’t know. Maybe he knows something I don’t. Still, in the past he made wise choices. Think I’m confused? You are right.

  20. Molly Pitcher says:

In other news….Looks like the momentum in the WS has shifted back to the Red Sox

AND Marco Rubio is supporting smaller, targeted immigration reforms in HOUSE legislation…a big change in his strategy

  21. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  22. The Raven says:

    Quote #3

We’re going to do a challenge. I’m going to try and download every movie ever made and you are going to try to sign up for Obamacare — and we’ll see which happens first.
    — Jon Stewart to Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on “The Daily Show,” Oct. 7 (hat tip Mike Shedlock)

  23. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

Ronald Reagan is the greatest president since World War II… Reagan played an indispensable role in defeating the Soviet Union – an evil, totalitarian empire existentially threatening freedom. The spectacular revival the United States experienced under the Reagan administration demolished the gloomy conventional wisdom of the 1970’s, forecasting the inevitability of American decline. Freedom, prosperity and democracy expanded vastly during the 1980’s and beyond.
