America the Right Way – Staying Vigilant December 7 and December 8 , 2013 ( Weekend Edition)

Last evening we were shopping for an outdoor security light at a Harbor Freight store. As we were standing in line at the checkout there was a customer ahead of us who was paying by check. The cashier processed the transaction but the check was denied for insufficient funds. I actually felt bad for the man until he took out an EBT card to pay for an expensive automotive device.

Sheesh! An eleven year old girl gathers mistletoe from her father’s farm to sell wanting to help pay for her braces. The police told her she can’t because she has no permit. She was told it would be all right for her to beg for money.

So, some may think it is all right to use an EBT card at a casino in Vegas, buy drugs, Harbor Freight etc., but this little girl can’t sell mistletoe without a permit and she must beg on the corner?

What am I missing?

Anyone here been to New Zealand ??

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  3. Molly Pitcher says:

The Tragic Death of the Funeral this piece , and from the Federalist!, struck a chord

  4. The Raven says:

Good morning all. Is it time for baseball yet? BTW, I vote for a world series picture as picture of the year. The Boston cop celebrating as the Detroit guy went over the fence.

  5. The Raven says:

I have been reading and reading books for the last ten years with an objective of finding out why liberals think the way they do. No luck yet (although I think it is something like a religion with the future utopia concept- and it may require a twelve step program). But it is a head shaker to look at the waste and ruin caused by the tyranny and Marxist equality experiments of the left – N Korea & Cuba are still trying. California, Illinois, New York, and Detroit are domestic examples. The solution is so easy. Like Nancy Reagan said…”Just say no” … not to drugs, but to liberalism. Rand Paul is suggesting just that for Detroitwith low tax zones and hopefully a low liberalism zone as well.

  6. The Raven says:

Congrats Jem again….(Auburn win)……It is complicated now since Ohio lost ….. is it possible AU gets into the #2 spot?

    • Jemian says:

That is what we’re thinking. And that means we play for the championship. Who would have thought it in August? Pretty strange.

    • The Raven says:

I can’t find an article on speculating the #2 spot…..who is the competition??
What makes Auburn likely is that you faced 6 ranked teams, four in the top ten and beat them all except LSU (especially rolling over the tide!). I watched the game yesterday and Auburn’s running game is unstoppable. They run the same play over and over and it works over and over. Unbelievable.

    • Jemian says:

Basically, Gus says that if something works, why stop? There are other plays, but we haven’t needed them yet. The competition is OSU and Bama. We’ll just have to see what the BCS does. I just got up and haven’t seen the AP or coaches polls yet, but if we’re good there, it will help.

  7. tillacum says:

Sweet rolls and coffee. Looks good.

  8. The Raven says:

I simply do not understand. How is it that a food stamp program pays for these non-food items?
And another thing I don’t understand. Why do we praise the North Korean Commies for releasing someone they kidnapped and forced to read propaganda? Why aren’t we lobbing cruise missiles at their homes ?

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    Congratulations, JT!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Thank you, thank you lysie

    • Jemian says:

Thank you, Molly P. and lysie, y’all ALL helped raise him and reinforce the values that we, his parents, taught.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, we were long distance cheerers-on, how’s that?

Still can’t believe how time has flown by… least when we aren’t thinking of a certain president.

What is the proud papa thinking?

    • Jemian says:

The proud papa is pleased as punch. JT tried to tell us they gave the medal to his entire squad because SF is so risky. But the award plainly states that it is an individual achievement and so we’re not buying what JT says. We also noted that the day after the date on the citation, JT got assigned a month-long desk assignment. WE think it was to remove him temporarily as a target. He says not. We will probably not learn the details on this side of glory.

In a very small, unrelated note, AU just won the SEC football championship. War Eagle!
