America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- January 6,2016 – January 10, 2014 Remember 9/11

Ok…the weather….nah….

Iraq disintegrating into chaos with significant AlQaeda operations….no, too depressing.

How about this? Mayor of Flower Mound Texas declares “Year of the Bible” Between the name of the town, the Reagan reference, and the mayor’s unusual proclamation – can’t you just hear the Left screaming? – I have a big grin on my face.

Not a bad way to start the first full week in the New Year.

Has anyone else noticed Christie’s bridge block has taken Mr. Gate’s book completely off the news?

    • The Raven says:

Almost seems like the Dems have a basket of goodies they can mete out when needed. And they have the media on their side as well. And compare the lane closures to the Dems — like sending the prosecutors after Alaskan Sen. Stevens, Rep Delay and Wisc Gov. Walker or the IRS after prominent Rep donors and the Tea Party groups.

    • edinva says:

Rav, today VA inaugurates carpetbagger Gov. Huckster and a full team of state-wide Dems (first time in decades there hasn’t been a R in at least one of the three statewide offices). Sad day, indeed. At least it’s literally raining/pouring on their parade. DOJ spent a lot of time/money, earning headlines about corrupt Republican GovMcDonnell allowing a friend to pick up the liquor tab at his daughter’s wedding. McDonnell, who had a great record as gov, was netered in campaigning for the Republican ticket. Need I say, post-election, McDonnell was cleared? In the meanwhile, Terry McAuliffe and his lifelong record of corruption wasn’t mentioned.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Prairie says:

I’ll have some more of that coffee, please.

      Good morning Lysie and all.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning and thank you lysie

The behavior or those Christie underlings…yes prairie….and it’s not JUST putting those thought into emails…it’s thinking them and implementing them….horrible.How about the one guy pleading the 5th already before Cong. yesterday?

not a good sign, and how quickly some things get the attention of Cong.? Too much of “BridgeGate” is so dang confounding.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hey prairie I noticed something the other day when I fixed your link….you don’t have to use the (p> just hit the enter key to start a new para.

    • Prairie says:

Yes indeed Molly nobody has to testify truthfully under oath anymore, the 5th will cover a multitude of sins. Might as well send congress home, IMO. Thanks for the paragraph reminder.

  3. tillacum says:

Late HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEMIAN, may you have many, many more.

  4. Prairie says:

    First things first…..Happy Birthday Jemian!

Good evening all. It’s warmed up here, people back outside, riding around in golf carts etc. The citrus is in full season……grapefruit isn’t quite as sweet as other years but still good, the oranges are good too.

Watching Chris Christie……yes Molly nothing sticks to Obama and I have to wonder if a NJ democrat governor would’ve had to do a public mea culpa to the extent that Christie did. And I would think that Christie should be concerned that the RATS will at some point fabricate some sort of “evidence” that ties him back into the debacle more directly. Final observation for now…..Christie labeled the actions of these staffers as “stupid”. A more accurate word would’ve been “wicked”. IMO.

    • tillacum says:

I believe he didn’t know about it, until it happened. I don’t think he lied. Yes, his numbers were better than the democrat’s queen, number one replacement for nobama…another who walks lightly in their loafers and tells whoppers and takes responsibility for nothing untoward on her watch.

    • Prairie says:

Time will tell, till. And if the RATS decide to try to eliminate him from the governor’s mansion, they’ll do, say or make up whatever is required to help them accomplish it.

Call me a farm-raised country hick….which I am….but it boggles my mind to think of these actions being taken and impacting so many people for nothing more than political revenge. Just like it boggles my mind to think of NYPD/NYFD members intentionally lying and defrauding the public. (I heard that may end up going waaaaay deeper than initially thought, btw.)

People simply didn’t behave in these ways where I grew up.

    • The Raven says:

What was funny is Eric Holder is right there with an investigation. Since Eric was NOT there with so many other investigations, there is humor in this one since they are committing the same infraction they are investigating. Hah !!!

    • Prairie says:

Pretty much like hate crime charges being filed against the white fool who “knocked out” someone’s head and NOT any of the blacks who have committed those attacks. Black people just cannot hate, apparently….

  5. lysie says:

Thanks for the links. Especially….baseballllllll. Woo hoo!

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Thank you lysie

I’ve been trying to fix that image I posted yesterday to you….but…

Hope Sarah is back at school all right. Schools around here finally opened up again yesterday

    • lysie says:

Thank you everyone. Your birthday wishes came true. I had a nice birthday. Having Sarah home with her bf John was wonderful. Her classes start on the 14th.

One minor panic toward the end of the evening. After a restaurant dinner…as we headed within 5 miles of home. We had to pull over for a fire truck. It went past. As we were closer to home we saw that it turned down our road. Our wood stove was in use. AHHH!The truck was doing a turn- around.

I pray others were spared as well and that it was a false alarm.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That would be a scare! Goodness…..was it a neighbor?

We had 3 fire trucks and a squad chief’s car show up next door on Monday. But they departed after about 10 min.

    • lysie says:

I’ve checked the news. Nothing so far as to where or why.

  7. The Raven says:

I wonder if it will work. The Dems are, once again, trotting out income gaps as a topic for debate so as to take OCare off the headlines. Sort of their own Christie traffic jam.

  8. lysie says:

    Happy Birthday, Jem.

  9. Prairie says:

George Will on Bret Baier’s panel tonight characterized Bob Gates’ memoir as “schizophrenic”. Hmmmmmm…..

A couple of links off Powerline:

Obama at war-first with the little sisters of the poor, now with the fraternal order of police Despicable yet fully predictable out of Obama.

The source of Obama’s quest for detente with Iran

Molly the NRO piece on Lyndon Johnson was very good.

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

Both written by Walter Russell Mead. I can’t recall reading from him before this, but I think his analysis is pretty much spot on. Sorry to say…..

  12. lysie says:

Very cold today, but the sun shining made it more tolerable.

Must go outside.. (don’t want) Must go outside.. (don’t want) Going outside. Ugh!

  15. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  16. The Raven says:

That housing bubble article is in the same paper which has an agenda behind each story. I bet they are getting out in front of something.

  17. Jemian says:

Well, not to take away from the important news, but FSU played a whale of a game in the BCS and earned a well-deserved win as the BCS champs. They regrouped when they found themselves behind and valiantly fought back to win over Auburn 34 – 31. I couldn’t see the game, but I do know it went down to the wire. They just were the better team. Congratulations, FSU!

It is STILL great to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle! We had a good season.

    • lysie says:

Darn. Jem. I fell asleep when Auburn was ahead.

    • Jemian says:

It happens. It feels great to win, but this time we didn’t.

    • tillacum says:

It was one heck of a game. Unfortunately, I fell asleep when Auburn was ahead and didn’t see the end. Hubby said it was a well “fought” game and both teams were the best
      of the best.

    • Jemian says:

And now I just read that our Tre Mason has apologized for letting us down. I HEARBY REJECT HIS APOLOGY. I DO NOT ACCEPT IT. There is no reason for him to apologize and I do not feel let down, nor does any real AU fan. We’re #2 in the ENTIRE nation. That’s pretty good and I’m really proud of our team. War PROUD Eagle!

    • edinva says:

Looks like I’m the only one who watched the whole game (albeit streamed). It was a truly great game, both teams did themselves and their fans proud. Just not to be for your guys this year, Jemian. There will be more in their future. And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! As I type in EST, you are probably already into your day. May it and the year ahead be blessed.

Not to state the obvious but….

Rachel Maddow Is Crazy, Too (Powerline)

  19. Prairie says:

Reading Molly’s articles on people not knowing if they have insurance……we are scratching our heads at our house. Applications we filed in October (BCBS) still not processed, no new cards. But, when Mr. Prairie had to get a new RX last Friday, the Walgreens ran it through on the old policy which is supposedly good until 4/1. Then, BCBS tried to charge me for that old policy and we didn’t pay it, feeling that if we did, it would imply consent for that old policy. We were concerned that we would’ve have to pay that inaccurate amount sooner or later, but lo and behold over the weekend, my email prompt arrived again and I logged on to see the correct amount being charged. So, we paid it, but still no new cards. But perhaps some progress on BCBS side.

Our neighbor across the street also had those terrible long wait experiences on the phone…..she was put on hold for nearly two hours I don’t think she ever did reach anybody or get a solid answer to her question. We’ve been much more fortunate in that regard…..we have the direct line of a contact at BCBS and she’s been very good to answer quickly. Also, we have an ins. broker, although he often hasn’t had much more information that he has access to.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What a mess….my heart goes out to people in some really tight places because of this debacle.

Am still covered as a retiree’s dependent here…and waiting for cards because the RX provider changed. Was careful in late Nov to order my maintenance refill drugs in a timely manner to cover this phase, but this is an indirect result of 0Care…adjustments due to pressure on the former employer to control costs …not because I had to go thru any blasted exchange

-7 here with “real feel” of -40

    • Prairie says:

Oh…brrrrrrrrr!! We just look at all the snow footage and temperature maps of up north and are glad we aren’t there….even if our outside plants do end up dying. Mr. Prairie says he isn’t going to cover them up, they’ll just have to either survive or not. Heh!

    • Prairie says:

I think it was actually early November when we filed the ins. applications. Not October. Still, it should’ve been in plenty of time.

  20. lysie says:

Heads up. The movie based on the book Heaven is for Real is coming out around Easter.

  21. Molly Pitcher says:

In an effort to appear older and more serious, WH spokesman Jay Carney is now bearded

Liz Cheney has withdrawn from her WY Senate race. She was way behind, but there are also reports of some family issues she needs to deal with. 5 children, 1 husband…I can well imagine.

  22. lysie says:

Some closings in your area, Molly. Stay safe and warm.

    44 degrees outside.

Some northern parts of the county may get an accumulation of 5 feet of **** before the storm is over. Luckily, we are south of that.

  23. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  24. Jemian says:

I’m praying for you guys freezing. How many rolls do you reckon the Chair would put up?

Speaking of rolls, Auburn people have been warned not to roll the palms outside the Rose Bowl. Frankly, it would take a real strong arm to heft a roll up that high. On a sad note, someone went around the AU campus and spray-painted FSU on a few of our buildings. That will take a bit of work to get it cleaned up.
