America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- January 20,2014 – January 24, 2014 Remember 9/11

Just over the horizon: the Winter Olympics…Sochi…Anyone interested?

Increasingly there are significant concerns about the security at the games, but Putin…no apparent worries.

Syria is rapidly devolving into the Jihadis’ location of choice for superior training….well, for many years it hasn’t been the most attractive Middle East real estate, but this? Are the Europeans paying attention? Are we??

And then there is the President’s CNN interview in which he compares marijuana, in different ways, and both highly suspect to cigarettes and alcohol. Hello! I really don’t need proof on a daily basis that the President of the United States can’t think or reason coherently, but there it is….he talks a LOT, so it’s there….on a daily basis.

    Good morning everyone.

      Well, that will certainly help…

Glad your MIL is making some progress, prairie Please keep up posted.

D’Souza indicted Didn’t he make a very critical film about 0 ahead of the ’12 election? I believe so….

    • The Raven says:

      Or maybe comedy?

If you think it is OK for the President to change laws to his heart’s desire, then “You might be a liberal”
If you think it is normal to vote more than once, then “You might be a liberal”
If you approve of the IRS targetting Conservative and Tea Party Groups, then “You might be a liberal”
If you think the Constitution is too old then “You might be a liberal”

Meanwhile , yesterday, Andy Cuomo was fundraising in California after giving the film industry tax credits in NY.

    • edinva says:

Morning, all (says she at 20 minutes till noon)
Lysie, once again you inspired our breakfast. ATRW might be retitled “Breakfast Ideas for Dummies”

Yesterday I got my GP’s clearance for next month’s eye surgeries. Whoopee!! Next up, ‘measurements’ next week, then Let the Surgeries Begn!

IMHO, all of Obama’s problems, that he’s made the country’s problems, come back to a single event circa 1972 when his mother put him on a plane and shipped her 11 year old off to live with his grandparents in HI. IMAGINE being 11 (or was it 12? doesn’t matter) and being told in essence that your mother doesn’t want you around any more. That, after your alleged ‘father’ abandoned you at 2. Then, to compensate for their wayward daughter, the grands worked overtime to assure the kid that he was just fine, He came to believe he could do no wrong. What he wanted he was entitled to and no one dare questions that. Not Republicans. Not FNS. Not Rush. No one. That’s bad enough, (tragic, really), in a kid. It’s not tolerable in an adult, much less one entrusted to hold the highest office in the land. Downright frightening.

  4. Prairie says:

Raven I appreciated that quote from Jonah Goldberg and the Rick Perry / outrage machine……. Precisely.

Good evening all. M-I-L is making progress in most areas. Spirits are better, pain much improved, ambulation getting stronger, appetite returning. There is a lingering post op problem that I think I will talk with the nursing staff about tomorrow to find out what exactly has been tried and why it doesn’t seem to be helping, as that may have an impact on where she goes from here. But overall, things do seem to be better.

I am blissfully out of the news-loop. It’s a blessing. Turning cold here too Tillacum. We’re waiting for the half-hour to arrive and will see the episode of DUCK DYNASTY that we missed last night.

    • Jemian says:

Did you enjoy that episode? Duck Dynasty has made an impact even over here in the jungle.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Duck Dynasty has made an impact even over here in the jungle.

Yes, but do you have sub zero temps???? THAT is the real question…

I don’t know anymore whether I’m “just” cold…or cold and feeling sick…there doesn’t seem to be much difference….

    • lysie says:

How about sick of being cold.???

    • tillacum says:

We had snow last night. Just a little. It’ll probably be gone by noon. The temps here are 24 with wind chill at 13. It’s nice though. By Sunday, I think the temps will be back up to 73. It’s a good thing I covered my “keyhole” garden. Hopefully it’s kept the plants a little
bit “warm”. We’ll check when things warm up a bit.
      Prayers continue for your Mom.
Have you heard the original Duck Dynasty will be preplaced by a new Duck Dynasty, starring Obama and missshell? Yep read it on my ‘puter. It’ll be called Duck & Lie Dynasty.

  5. lysie says:

Still cool here, but the sun is out.

I let the boys out of the barn. My goodness! They WANTED OUT! Fast! Rearing up…rolling in the snow….running. Like two kids playing in the snow.

Guess they are cold , snowy weather kind of Arabians. 🙂

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

Friends of Abe Conservatives in Hollywood….

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

How are the boys in the barn?

Some local news…sizable # of people being dropped by their insurance plans, and losing their drs. because……TA DA! drum roll, please…….0Care says “Nyet” to the plans…don’t comply, sorry charlie.

    • lysie says:

I was going to put the boys out, but the wind-chill is a bit much even with the sun. We have clear siding at the peaks of the barn. They help warm the barn when the sun shines. I hope it stays sunny…though not in the forecast.

They look good and just want to eat. 😉 Plenty of hay for them today, too.

  8. Molly Pitcher says:

Wednesday Weather Wisdom: the weather in NJ for the Super Bowl will be awful, with awful consequences, and Christie will be blamed

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • lysie says:

21 below zero according to our 2 thermometers. I gave the boys extra hay. This morning I was out there before our 3 roosters crowed. That’s how cold it is. LOL

Greg took a propane heater out to the barn. He will stay there while it heats the barn up a bit.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Terrible…the temps.

A group of us gals from church are supposed to have dinner together tonite….Maybe we should postpone….but not my decision.

    • lysie says:

Yes. We have plans for tonight….now..not sure I want to venture out.

    • tillacum says:

Nice breakfast, lysie. I’ve watching the weather in the NE. Please everyone in “the snow belts” stay warm.
We called a friend yesterday in MO. Hubby asked to talk with her husband, and was informed, her hubby was in “the field” getting one of her cats. She was worried about one of her other cats, at the vets, They live on a hill and the road was pure ice.
It was down to 28, here, last night but today should be up to about 65. Tonight the forecast is 22 and tomorrow around 58 degrees.

  10. Prairie says:

Sean Hannity to Leave New York After Andrew Cuomo’s Anti-Conservative Rant

Smart move, Sean. Good evening everybody, sorry about the cold temps and s*** that some of you are experiencing. Gotta say, we just don’t miss that.

Thanks for the kind words for my m-I-l. Talked with her this morning and she seemed in better spirits, eating better etc. One day at a time for now…

I see they caught some Mexican women in our area here who were using credit card numbers stolen in the holiday Target breach. Here’s a question…..If you have over 70 million customers who were compromised by the security breach… that a problem in issuing new credit card numbers….the sheer volume, I mean? At what point do the possible combinations overlap, so to speak? I wonder about these things……

    • The Raven says:

      Related quote from J Goldberg:

Imagine how much smoke would emanate from the liberal outrage machine if, say, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said that “extremist” Democrats who support gun control or oppose gay marriage or abortion rights “have no place in the great state of Texas.”

    • lysie says:

      If we could…we would leave…..

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hadn’t heard that about Hannity….yes, good move.

    • tillacum says:

Doesn’t Hannity have children in school? I guess his employees will go with him? I cannot imagine abandoning employees.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, I was wondering about that….have the idea tho that this decision has been in the works awhile…he was probably waiting for the right moment…..max. Effect….

    • edinva says:

Molly, I heard that Hannity modified his announcement to say he wouldn’t move before 2017. as there are hundreds of employees who live in/around NY who are dependent on him and he couldn’t just leave them in a lurch. Not sure why, but I suspect also that maybe 2017 is when his younger kid graduates from HS. Given they’re such tennis buffs I’d think an early move to FL would be a good thing. Not at all sure about FL schools, tho.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes…it was inevitable…. That move, and so, let him make it on his schedule

  11. lysie says:

Hope all of you are warm. Minus one here already and going down. Thank goodness we have a woodstove and wood.

  12. tillacum says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

      Quote #2

The only way to receive an Obamacare subsidy is to buy insurance through one of the state exchanges or through But doing so will automatically exclude each and every ACA buyer from the nation’s top hospitals and specialists. In other words, the very people who were supposed to be receiving all the wondrous benefits of the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” will instead be relegated to second- or third-class care. Not to mention higher deductibles.
S Green, PJ Media on the exclusion of Cleveland Clinic, Mayo, Anderson. etc

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh that that’s so funny…really at least that’s the funny part of 0’s “imaginary” life….there’s too much of it that isn’t funny….not at all, and is causing a lot of suffering and destruction.

  15. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody, checking in briefly. Mr. Prairie’s mother fell and broke her hip last week. 87 y/o, She has been transferred for rehab….it’s hard to know just how she’s doing. A lot of pain at first, post-op. Better now but some other common post-op difficulties occurring too. So, we’ve been monitoring that….plus I think she’s pretty discouraged…(personality entering in)…….thank GOD that his sister is there.

Olympics? Only if it happens to be one when I’m surfing past. As for Moochelle’s party…..maybe it was a pot party. Maybe the coke wasn’t just to put expensive bourbon into….. And if there were 500 plus the stars, it’s hard to believe that many will keep quiet about it forever. OTOH, perhaps they’d just as soon not have their taxes audited in retribution for sneaking a picture from the party and posting it onto Facebook.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my….of course you are concerned about your MIL…..prayers for her recovery, definitely…those are difficult situations at that age, as you well know.

Now if Jemian and MKH would post & let us know how they are that would be great.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What about that Wendy Davis story???!!

    • edinva says:

Molly, given the Dem primary voters, Davis could still get the nomination for TX gov, not that she’d be elected. But WHAT a story…what an implosion of a recently sanctified abortion goddess! Nothing good to be said for her. Not a thing.

Our former governor and his wife got hit with a 14 count indictment today. He quickly sent out a statement and held a presser professing innocence (if not naivety or stupidity). So far he seems to be handling it better than Christie w/his issues, but charges vs. the McDonnells are far more serious. If this weren’t Holder’s inJustice Dept, I’d be more concerned. They are evil. Time will tell.

Will the government offices in DC open tomorrow? The 3 major Universities in DC and Fairfax and other suburban county public schools as well as Richmond area already announced closing. The Virginia state university campuses (Mason/VCU) haven’t made a decsion yet and both opened today, but closed early. I swear snow is not above my ankles (at least where I am). THO, tomorrow’s high is forecast to be 14. We’re just not used to that. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I know, lysie, you’re laughing at us.

    • lysie says:

      Prayers for your mil.

    • Jemian says:

I’m fine. Second week of the spring semester. Trying to think of where to be in the summer and next Christmas.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi Jemian Glad you are warm..

ED The McDonnell story is simply incomprehensible to me…there seems to be so much detail in the indictment, but maybe it’s all false…

  16. lysie says:

Wow! It went from 25 degrees to 12 in less than two hours. I’m happy the boys are in early.

  17. lysie says:

Molly, sad to say I have no interest in the Winter Olympics. In my youngers days I looked forward to the winter and summer Olympics. Now? Too much pushing agenda and far too less actual sports.

  18. lysie says:

Oh and did you hear that ex gov. Pataki said that there is no room for liberals in New York? Oh wait. That’s not right. It’s Cuomo talking about conservatives.

Just imagine if Pataki DID say that.

  19. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Wow…that looks like a party! Good way to start the week…

Glad Eric is doing so well, and able to continue making music for others to enjoy, too.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Year Six of Hope and Change is Underway!

    • tillacum says:

Oh my so much to choose from, I think I’ll…..darn I can’t make up my mind, I’ll just look while I sip the coffee, OH, there’s some tea too, I’ll keep looking, can’t make up my minds, oh dear, I’ll keep looking.

    • edinva says:

Hope y’all are enjoying your MLK Day.

lysie, so have you put the homestead up for sale with plans to move to more welcoming climes? I’ve a number of relatives in the Albany area who I guess will have to pull up stakes. How I wish this turdkey would get voted out, but there’s really no effective GOP in NYS, is there?

We are supposed to get some real winter weather tomorrow (it’s 57 now). Anywhere from 3-8″ snow and single digit temps. Hey, it’s January! I’m good as long as we don’t lose power. Can’t imagine how tired of all this folks up N and in the MW are.

Three years from today we get a new POTUS. God willing the GOP finds a good, electable candidate. It’d be nice for once not to have a GOP circular firing squad but how likely is that?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi ED……heard about the snow… haven’t had a good snowfall for awhile per TWC…

    • edinva says:

Prairie, so sorry to read about your mil. I’ve noticed this magical thing with the rehab facilities. The patient, no matter what, is magically healed at 30 days, just EXACTLY the number of days Medicare covers. How cool is THAT? Remarkable coincidence, don’t you think?

Molly, we’re well overdue for a serious s***. Early today they were saying 3-5″ where I am (near the moderating river), more s**** inland. By this eve they said we’d have 5-8″ here. Fairfax Schools already announced they’re closed tomorrow. Last month we had a bad forecast so all the VA/MD suburban districts announced the night before that they’d close. Nary a flake! In fairness, we still have a lot of remote, windy roads the school buses have to traverse, starting at 6am, so the better part of wisdom is not to take a chance. We’re ready here.

  20. lysie says:

    Thanks Molly.

If all the rumors are true about pot-heads having the munchies how will Michelle handle it? Somehow I doubt they will be munching on arugula.
