    Good morning everyone.

That looks so tasty….your recipe collection must be huge!

    • lysie says:

Thank goodness for search. We’d all starve without it. 😉

    • Jemian says:

Good morning. Thank you for the tasty breakfast.

    • lysie says:

Hi, Jem. You are welcome. How are things?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Jemian! I am reading a book about a missionary couple in your part of the world…pre WWII….they were put in prison camps by the Japanese…Sadly, he died, but his wife survived to later write the book and continue her work. Evidence Unseen…I think that’s the title…her name is Darlene Rose. She and her husband went into a very primitive area….

    • Jemian says:

Yes! Darlene Rose. After the war, she did work on this island. Great book.

We are about to blow away here. The winds are quite strong. I thought the windy season was over, but I guess not. Busy teaching, I have a bit of a challenge child. He has been diagnosed as OCD, but has milked the situation and is basically a jerk. It is a constant battle to be in charge of the classroom. Big sigh.

My brother-in-law in Chicago has a cleaning service and has been trying to hire someone for a while now. He has had people not show up for the interview. He has hired people and then they don’t come to work. One guy said it was too cold (the work is inside).
My favorite is one guy wanted to get paid in cash so he can keep his food stamps and assistance.

    Good morning & Morning Quote:

No one’s really listening to the president now. He has been for five years a nonstop windup talk machine. Most of it has been facile, bland, the same rounded words and rounded sentiments, the same soft accusations and excuses. I see him enjoying the sound of his voice as the network newsman leans forward eagerly, intently, nodding at the pearls, enacting interest, for this is the president and he is the anchorman and surely something important is being said with two such important men engaged.

But nothing interesting was being said! Looking back on this presidency, it has from the beginning been a 17,000 word New Yorker piece in which, calmly, sonorously, with his lovely intelligent voice, the president says nothing, or little that is helpful, insightful or believable. “I’m not a particularly ideological person.” “It’s hard to anticipate events over the next three years.” “I don’t really even need George Kennan right now.” “I am comfortable with complexity.” “Our capacity to do some good . . . is unsurpassed, even if nobody is paying attention.”

    Nobody is!
