America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- April 14, 2014 – April 18, 2014 Remember 9/11

Oh my…violent spring weather in the South, snow in the North…It’s April, folks! Coming to you this week…

In other news, violence hits Eastern Ukraine, with Russian troops ominously looking very unspontaneous massing on the border.

And Iran says “Full Speed Ahead” with its nuclear programs.

A bit of a good decision does come out of the administration this weekend, and it’s important to note: The U.S. will not grant a visa to Iran’s newly named ambassador. Why? This particular person was a key actor in the takeover of the U.S. Embassy 35 years ago.

Pathetic New York Times Op Ed linking Veterans and White Supremacy

Guess what? No mention of U.S. Sen. Robert Byrd and A Senator’s Shame

In the early 1940s, a politically ambitious butcher from West Virginia named Bob Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to form a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. After Byrd had collected the $10 joining fee and $3 charge for a robe and hood from every applicant, the “Grand Dragon” for the mid-Atlantic states came down to tiny Crab Orchard, W.Va., to officially organize the chapter.

That is a terrible, terrible slander.

      Desperate they are.

It’s Friday! I went to my garden store, and heard about the pressure they were under the other night to bring in all the delicate plants ahead of the deep freeze. What a winter..what a spring!

    • lysie says:

      Yes, indeed slander.

Re: weather, believe it or not they mentioned the *s* word for late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Many of my daylilies have popped up. I’m a bit concerned about other perennials, too. I understand they can take the cold, but…for…how.. long? Sheesh!

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It’s been ages since I had a hot cross bun. Thank you!

The USPS is honoring Charlton Heston with a stamp this spring…a first class stamp, and it’s very attractive one. Get this…the young clerk behind the counter had no idea who he was…even with an accompanying photo of him as Ben Hur. ( the stamp itself has him in regular clothes)

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome.
That’s nice that Heston has a stamp honoring him. I will have to buy it the next time I’m at the post office.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

limited edition….it was definitely a nice surprise to find it on the poster there, and then after some searching the clerk found it.

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

The slow death of free speech

But, once you get a taste for shutting people up, it’s hard to stop. Why bother winning the debate when it’s easier to close it down?

    Mark Steyn

    Good evening all..

Free speech has been disappearing for many years. But lately it seems to be speeding
up. Many words used years ago are not allowed today for one reason or another. New
words are being used in public that yester years one never heard. Times change.

  5. lysie says:

Local news: The low temperature at 7 a.m. was 22 degrees which breaks the old record for the lowest temperature of 23 degrees on April 16, 1943.

Plus, about one inch of snow.

  6. lysie says:

Excellent Rules of Lawless article, Molly. Thanks.

    • tillacum says:

Interesting article about “Why Bundy Deserves Sympathy”. The remarks following the
article are Very interesting. Americans are interesting.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It seems like there are some fundamental questions: What is one to do when a government becomes lawless? And its elected representatives no longer represent…

  7. The Raven says:

Glenn Beck has had Bundy on his radio show and Powerline has had some of the legal commentary……seems like Bundy is following Obama’s example and ignoring the law. He doesn’t have a leg to stand on but the Feds are definitely going overboard as is typical with libs.

A South Korean ferry has sunk off the southern coast of Korea.
    Prayers for the passengers.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

There seem to be these 2 frequent stories about these ferries…particularly in Asia.

We took a ferry between islands back in Feb down in Texas…cars, people, big, big trucks all loaded closely together & crossing a heavily used harbor route…hmmm

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  10. Prairie says:

Excellent articles on Ukraine, Molly. Damn Barack Obama and the weak Euro’s.

  11. The Raven says:

We are now in a doggy RV park and just missed the bad storm by heading north from Charleston a little faster than the weather. Very cold here.

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

I think I just heard…NYC is warmer than Atlanta….well, the Big Apple is sure to cool off soon.

    TCM at 20 Yep….20 years ago…the Clinton years….TCM provided some diversion and escape…still does…

  14. lysie says:

Hi, Molly. Thanks for the links. I’m not a huge instant replay fan.

I know it’s a different state, but I can’t help but think of the Cartwrights and the show Bonanza when reading about the Bundy/Nevada mess. I ask, what would Ben do?

  15. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That is a diner breakfast…can just picture the place…hardworking people filtering in and out… Some friendly, but slightly harried waitresses…a counter of course, with a few guys sitting, exchanging info….people reading the paper, slowly…probably retired….near the door some kind of bulletin board with local notices….

The place is not part of a chain like Denny’s but could belong to the Independent Chain of Local Diners….I just love those spots!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Good morning!

    Betrayal. Ukraine by the west…..WSJ

  17. tillacum says:

I wonder if the feds are going to return the Bundy’s cattle. Wonder if they will pay the Bundly’s for
the weight the cattle lost while being chased by helicopters and federal rustlers, if the cattle are

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi till… Reimbursement? They may well demand that he cover their expenses….
Good afternoon everyone…been doing a little sorting and straightening this afternoon….not quite spring cleaning but a step in that general direction

    • lysie says:

I’ll be doing some organizing today since it’s going to rain OR snow. Blah!

  18. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start , Molly.
