America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- May 24 , 2014 – May 25 , 2014 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

As we head toward Memorial Day I’m thankful that I was taught the meaning of that day by my grandfather’s examples and deeds. I honor him on that day as well. Thank you Gramp.

Speaking of our Vets ..how about this?

There are two Democratic candidates who are against Obama and his decision to not ask for Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki’s resignation. One must wonder if they are sincere or if it’s a political move. I vote the second choice. How about you?

  1. lysie says:

    Yes. I am. Oops!

  2. The Raven says:

Whoops ……I think you are on the wrong day, Lysie.

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Wonderful breakfast….

Not so wonderful…just heard 0 is making surprise trip to Afghanistan, and will shortly address our forces there….maybe I dreamed this….but don’t think so…..

    • Prairie says:

You heard right. Of course, the media was alerted so that they could build the anticipation of the Wait of the One. I recall GW Bush’s first trip to the troops after 9-11 at Thanksgiving, was kept a huge secret. For the troops benefit and to honor them. Something that Mr. Obama can’t relate to whatsoever.

Not sure I can stomach his address to them especially in view of the VA scandal.

    • Bitwhacker says:

      Afternoon everyone.

Just relaxing and catching up on some movies I have been meaning to see. I did get all 3 parts of Generation War, and will watch it tomorrow. Right now, it’s Out of the Furnace, The Counselor, X-Men: First Class, Neighbors (ugh), and God’s Not Dead. 🙂

Hope everyone has a safe and reverent Memorial Day. (Was going to say ‘happy’ but that’s just not right, is it?)

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hello Bit and prairie….yes, the 2 presidents are very different in their approaches to the military.

That is a good long movie list…please get back to me on the German movie, ok? There is a little discussion after the movie…not all that worth watching .

    • Bitwhacker says:

Will let you know about Generation War.

Also: has anyone seen the PBS Frontline 2-parter on the NSA scandal and Snowden??? It’s called The United States of Secrets, and it seems like it’s pretty close to the real scoop on the story, as far as I can tell (Except that Glenn Greenwald is a radical Lefty, not the middle-of-the-road journalist he tries to be on camera). The lying byt the Gov’t. is just unbelievable.

Part 1 is called The Program, which tells about the NSA software and administrative program. Part 2 is called Privacy Lost, about the chase for Snowden and how the Gov’t. used secret executive orders to force Silicon Valley to participate in warrantl-less dumps of social media, internet and phone data. Scary.

    • The Raven says:

Well today was supposed to be an absolute perfect day…sunny, 82 and low humidity……and we were going to take the boat on a scenic cruise and maybe do some fishing– but it started raining around 10AM and hasn’t stopped. Started watching old Perry Mason’s maybe a movie (got Lincoln here and some other’s we fished from the $5 bin)

    • The Raven says:

      Lysie….Tanaka has a no-hitter going….but only 3 innings ……Yanks ahead by 4

    • lysie says:

We are watching the game on Greg’s laptop out on the deck. Gorgeous day…sunny with a little breeze.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Josh Beckett pitched a no hitter in Philly!

  4. lysie says:

    Molly, thanks for the links.

The Mark Steyn article re: D’Souza is a great reminder. The corruption abounds in the Obama Administration and in the Democratic Party, but don’t try to do less…by mistake if you are a conservative.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Bizarre meeting at WH on foreign affairs with key Senators invited

    • Prairie says:

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, described Tuesday night’s White House meeting with chief of staff Denis McDonough and national security adviser Susan Rice as “one of the most bizarre I’ve attended.”

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Just had this thought….If it was bizarre WITHOUT 0….just how much more bizarre would the meeting have been WITH him….I know I’m a racist for saying that…..

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  7. Molly Pitcher says:

I’m with you on that vote.

the Indians managed to play a regulation 9 inning game last night….and lost…hmmm
