A U.S. Army Sgt. taken and held in Afghanistan by the Taliban has been released, and 5 very dangerous Taliban fighters freed from Gitmo for a temporary sojourn in Qatar to growing questions and few reassuring answers.
The concerns are focused on the way the Administration handled the negotiations, lawful notification of Congress, and of Course the wisdom of such an exchange in the first place. The Taliban sees it as a great victory. And do they also see this as the first opportunity to gain more releases for their numbers?
And then there is the statement by SecDef Hagel that the release will draw the Taliban into more peace negotiations with the administration. WHAT?
Does any of this signal American strength??
