America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- June 2, 2014 – June 6, 2014 Remember 9/11

Hello!

A U.S. Army Sgt. taken and held in Afghanistan by the Taliban has been released, and 5 very dangerous Taliban fighters freed from Gitmo for a temporary sojourn in Qatar to growing questions and few reassuring answers.

The concerns are focused on the way the Administration handled the negotiations, lawful notification of Congress, and of Course the wisdom of such an exchange in the first place. The Taliban sees it as a great victory. And do they also see this as the first opportunity to gain more releases for their numbers?

And then there is the statement by SecDef Hagel that the release will draw the Taliban into more peace negotiations with the administration. WHAT?

Does any of this signal American strength??

Israel to expand settlement construction, as Obama’s Middle East policy collapses

Good. Now if Bibi would come on TV and tell Mr. Obama “Up Yours”…..with that charming smile of course.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

You mean that charming smile with the steely eyes? Yes, indeed.

Ok the latest re: bergdahl….the US may have also given the Taliban cash for the POW or hostage or whatever he was. All this info will and is coming out because some, some in the government can’t stand for it, and think we need to know

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

Today is National Donut Day. When did doughnut become donut?

  3. The Raven says:

Kim Strassel at WSJ has an article today (Meet Obama’s Kissingers) on the reason for the foreign policy incompetence. If Zero’s actions with Bergdahl, Benghazi,, Syria, etc seem similar, it is because his NSC is run by a couple of political hacks who look like they aren’t old enough to vote. One of them, Rhodes, is the guy who came up with the video story after Benghazi.

    Related morning quote:

Having made my decision as commander in chief based on what I am convinced is our national security interests, I’m also mindful that I’m the president of the world’s oldest constitutional democracy. I’ve long believed that our power is rooted not just in our military might, but in our example as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. And that’s why I’ve made a second decision: I will seek authorization ,,, from the American people’s representatives in Congress.

Now this may not seem like Obama, and it may seem like what he should have said with the Bergdahl prisoner swap, but it was Obama being political after his red line mistake in Syria. He threw the “force” decision to Congress so Harry Reid could kill it.

  4. lysie says:

    Miss him so much.

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  8. Prairie says:

I agree Molly, the decline of musical education and even rudimentary sight reading skills have contributed to the decline of hymn singing. Much to the detriment of worship services, IMO. Some praise music is…..okay. Much of it is mind-numbingly simple and boring. Unfortunately, it is becoming quite pervasive in many churches. Speaking of churches we are in a location where the Baptist churches outnumber any other denomination by 10 to1.

I am so infuriated and disgusted about the release of these terrorists that I can barely see straight. Congress is useless. Obama is a tyrannical dictator and his stooges like Rice and that State Dept blonde are Baghdad Bob propagandists who would be comical if it weren’t so serious. I was surprised at Jay Carney’s hasty departure. He must’ve been unwilling to ride the plantation train where Obama wanted him to……which in Carney’s case is sayin’ something.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      There you are…!

…a few weeks ago we attended Sunday services at a Baptist church, and the hymn singing was phenomenal! Both the choice of the hymns and the participation….what a great thing to have been part of, we thought as we left this church miles and miles away from home.

Your own travels are going well, then?

  9. lysie says:

Ouch! Stalls cleaned and new mats in. Those things are 4’x6′ and weigh 100 pounds each. Greg and I are going to be sore….good kind of sore..accomplishment kind of sore. 🙂

    • Molly Pitcher says:

And where are the guys while you do all this work on their behalf?

      Good job!

    • lysie says:

Out in the pasture.,,,neighing hurry up.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      I suspected as much.

Dealt with some chores and phone calls, trying to make arrangements, etc…yesterday, knew it would be a little frustrating, and it was, …but done, done, done now.

    • lysie says:

Good that you were able to accomplish what needed to be done. Too bad it had to be so frustrating.

I’m dealing with a store ad that appears to be bait and switch. I emailed customer service. I received the usual blah, blah, blah response. I wrote back explaining that this was not the first time that it happened. So far, I haven’t received a response.

  10. lysie says:

    From till,

Still can’t get to post, but when my cousin gets here, he’ll straighten it out. The new fellow who helped straighten out some problems did some things and that’s probably
why this is happening, plus on FR I don’t receive my pings, like I used to, except when I Log In. I still check in to see who’s doing what. It’s hot and cloudy here today, and I’ll check the community garden in a pit. Then at 1300 I’ll check in with my Dr, he’ll check my toe, which looks pretty good.

Tell everyone hello for me….and I’m like a bad penny, I’ll return.

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

Changing of the stall mats day. 😉

  12. lysie says:

Thanks for the links, Molly. Victor Davis Hanson- excellent.

    • lysie says:

Yay! We bought 6 mats for Bentley’s stall. By purchasing used ones we saved over $100.00.

Then, Greg went to get our newly bought used Jeep Cherokee inspected. I bought it from my aunt …who is buying another from her bf ….who is buying one brand new. She bought this 1993 Jeep from her bf in 1999 with about 80,000 miles on it. It now has about 113,300. It has been Ziebarted almost every year. It has new tires, new muffler, new battery, new floor boards, new gas tank and came with 3/4 tank of gas. I offered a price. She said that the price was too high. I lowered it a little. She told me $350 firm. Huh? That crazy I said. Firm she said.

Now back to the inspection. Greg was at the inspection station at 10:15. It was done at 10:26. Reason? The last inspection sticker had the mileage at 113,000 miles. Only 300 miles driven in one year. Greg told the mechanic how much we paid for the Jeep….his eyes bonged out. Couldn’t believe it.

My aunt thanks ME for buying it. I say…NO…THANK YOU!!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh that’s great….love the buys. Good job to you both…and to your Aunt. LOL!

Oh my Mark Steyn is on fire this p.m.

    • The Raven says:

Good for Bentley.!! We just got back from the vet — $500 for two dogs (annual shots/checkup/heartworm)……Yuck!!.

One dog is 10lbs overweight and needs to go on Atkins….I just ordered some low-carb dog food. Hah.

    • lysie says:

Yikes! That’s a lot of money. Our horse vet is far more reasonable. Our dog/cat vet is not reasonable…at all.

  13. The Raven says:

Inquiring minds want to know [Obama politics trigger alert]:

Does Obama have a stash of unexecuted back-burner action items like the Bergdahl trade ready to move to prime time when the need arises – like getting the VA off the headlines??

  14. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  15. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

… Article 85 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice states: “Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.”

But wait: We are not “in time of war.” We are in Time of Obama.

In Time of Obama, dereliction of duty is heroism, …

    WSJ’s Bret Stevens

    • lysie says:

Sad how O has changed so many things for the worse.

Generally, I have an optimistic outlook. With these people leading that has changed a tad. I pray for our country’s future.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I found a new word to describe this administration…it was used in a Krauthammer column recently, but what it modified….I don’t remember exactly, but it fits the 0 gang: grotesque.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Is this character going to get a Rose Garden welcome?? Are they planning that??

    • lysie says:

Once again imagine if a republican president did this. Let’s say a truly heroic marine held captive by the Saudis. The libs would be crying about big oil.

  16. lysie says:

    Bit, Rav, Molly everyone….Help, please.

OK Till can log in , but the site will not let her comment. Anyone know how to fix that?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

She is registered as a contributor. Have you done anything as yet to help…something that didn’t work?

      Has her email changed?

I will try bumping her up to the next level. Will do that now If that doesn’t work, perhaps we should end her user status, and then reinstate her, you know? A reboot, so to speak…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I bumped her up. Sorry this has happened. we’ll see if this works…I’ll send her an email also.

    • The Raven says:

Something is weird today…..I had a post completely disappear — not a trace (unless somebody didn’t like it).

    • lysie says:

Molly her email is the same…yes.

Rav, I saw that your post was gone. Didn’t have time to read it. I thought you pulled it because you posted something bad about me. Then, I realized you don’t pull any punches so it couldn’t have been about me. 😉

    • The Raven says:

My post was the links to the Bergdahl desertion side of the story.

    • The Raven says:

I now think I hit TRASH instead of UPDATE

  17. Molly Pitcher says:

I forgot! This is 0’s week to destroy the coal industry! YAY!
Several items on my list today…rain coming, too, so the outside jobs come first.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thank you so much mkh for that article. Yes, it is certainly true of many denominations. It’s connected in some ways to the decline of musical education…in some ways at least. There are other factors, too. Article is bookmarked for in depth reading…

  18. lysie says:

Molly, all…Tillacum has mentioned that she can’t get in to ATRW. I will try to help her.

  19. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

It is, in my opinion, the single worst speech in presidential history.
-Jonathan Owen on Obama’s West Point Speech

    From Taranto’s column

  20. lysie says:

Negotiate? Sure, why not? Just like here in NYS we must negotiate with the friendly burglars. Let’s invite them in…if not already in….sit down and discuss the problem over a cup of coffee. BUT! Never discuss Christianity or traditional family values.

And to think I DID wake up on the right side of the bed. Imagine if I didn’t. 😉

  21. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
