Political turmoil in Iraq? That is the question as Maliki surrounds himself with military units in central Baghdad, and refuses to surrender power to a successor. Details remain sketchy tho. If true, this would be a further move into Iran’s sphere of influence.

Meanwhile it is unclear whether 3 days of US air strikes on ISIS positions in n. Iraq have relieved some of the pressure on the beleaguered Iraqis and Kurds there.

So now, Rick Perry. We are becoming a banana republic before our eyes.

  2. Molly Pitcher says:

The accounts from Ferguson are still confusing to me….must need a nap….

Right now my 1 question is: did the officer responding know about the robbery or not?…. Seems like there are conflicting reports.

  3. lysie says:

Not our boys dancing, but close. With the new trimmings they are light on their feet.

  4. lysie says:

The boys were good. Of course, John the farrier is excellent. Bentley was a good boy. PB..was PB..good boy as usual.

I was tossing and turning…all night with worry about the trimmings. Wasted time.. So happy that is done for the year.

    • lysie says:

Certain parents abandon their children and it’s acceptable? Yet, if a US citizen leaves a dog under the same conditions. ..charges are filed. Not condoning either…just a thought.

    • tillacum says:

This is just another way of noboma ruining our country and making us the laughing stock of the world. OH…. I dislike that creature. I agree with Col. West commenting on nobama’s beliefs. I’ve known for years that he’s an islamist. I’ve been thinking since the islam brotherhood became strong in the Lebenon government, that he belonged to the same club and began putting brotherhood members in our government. “Devout Muslims. How many departments are controlled by the Islam Brotherhood. And Shrillery? I think she too has links to the Sisterhood. HMM? HUMA HUMA ?

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thank you and good morning lysie….hope you have some good plans for the day.

It’s been so cool, that I have been disinclined to do garden work….cool and windy. When that changes….outside I go. Been thinking about some changes I want to make for next year., too.

    • lysie says:

You are welcome, Molly. Very cool here, too…and rainy.
The boys are getting pedicures this morning. LOL

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Once a year, right? My old cat needs one, I’m thinking…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Can you take them to Tractor Supply??!! Funny to imagine….

    • lysie says:

Our farrier, John, is very good at trimming…very good.

    • lysie says:

Times like today…actually every day…. I wish Sarah was here. The younger horse Bentley has always had an attitude. Sarah doesn’t put up with any baloney. Bentley knows I’m squishy. I was able to get his halter on after 30 minutes. Trust me…he would NOT get that window with Sarah….

    Obama’s Brutal Vacation

Come on, Hinderaker. Obama doesn’t deserve the sympathy or pity of anybody who calls themselves an American.

Finders keepers losers weepers, ed. Nothing to keep yesterday…unless someone collects broken beer bottles. LOL

The person in charge of the picking up trash along the roadside used to be a flaming lib…still is sort of.

Politely I asked him… Do you agree with the rioters in Missouri? His answer NO. Do you think it is all right for the people to take their anger out on innocent store owner? His answer NO. Do you think people have the right to defend their family if a person breaks in the house and threatens? His answer YES , definitely.

Rather than question the areas he and I disagree.. I wanted to emphasize the areas we agree. He’s coming along…slowly, but coming along. Plus, he really is a nice guy, but doesn’t understand how conservative he is because he wants to be liked by everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Good morning to you.

Sounds like a “no-go” on the rescue mission in Iraq…too few to rescue……????? Excuse me? More incoherence, IMO….this administration looks, IS pathetic

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

Greg and I didn’t find any money at the “Adopt a Highway” event. The other team found…..$2.00. See? The economy is bad. The April event.. both teams found over $70.00 each. People just don’t throw away money like they used to.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well darn on the money bust, but thank you for doing that.

Hope the weather was good for you….those rain deluges….LI was it?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Am having a heck of a time figuring out the new arrangements in posting links in the heading…I seemed to have gotten lucky with the only one I managed to get right yesterday.

      Anyway…will keep trying, but later…

    • edinva says:

lysie, the reward is your satisfaction in doing your civic duty, right? I never even considered that they would find $ that added up to anything. (not sure why I didn’t think of it, it makes sense) Is there some mechanism/rule about found $, does it go to the organization that volunteered the time or the volunteer(s) who found the $?

I believe that effective today, we will have ‘gay marriage’ in Virginia. It’s amazing to me how that one topic has moved forward so dramatically, after being voted down in the various states, the judges overturned the people, and simultaneously ‘public opinion’ has had a complete turn around? Didn’t Roberts in his ruling on O’Care say it wasn’t the court’s job to overturn elections? Something like that? On a personal level, I don’t care, but as a society, it’s a bad way to go. It rips the very fabric of Western/Judeo-Christian civilization, such as it is. Not a good day.

Otherwise, everything’s sunny and bright. Daughter/son-in-law coming for dinner tonight, as is a dear friend who’s spent the past year as national president of a fairly good sized organization, so we’re helping him re-enter ‘normal’ life. Hope everyone’s day is great!

“The world is exploding” but Chuck Hagel is on the case

Personally, I’d feel more confident in Deputy Dog or Dudley Do-Right.

  15. Molly Pitcher says:

ABC reporting that US Special Forces, Marines have landed in Iraq to asses evac route for those people still alive on that mountain……..fine now about the other minority populations under dire threat of extermination?

This administration’s catch up policy, or whatever you call, is scary, incoherent, inadequate, pathetic, unrealistic………………..

  16. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

Good morning Lysie! I will take a serving of that great looking low-carb breakfast.

[late breaking correction – just saw the Coke] — errrr maybe not.

    • lysie says:

Hi there, Rav. The no sugar cokes are there as well.

Today, if the weather permits we will be picking up trash along a highway. Greg’s ex- workers asked him.

Last time he and Sarah cleaned the highway they found $73.00. Wish us luck 😉

    • Jemian says:

Thank you for the diet coke. We’re going through our semi-annual DC drought and I am rationing my stash. Any addition is greatly appreciated.

      I miss Reaganomics.

    • The Raven says:

Jemian…..the SEC power rankings are out …. Alabama is numero uno and Auburn close behind- The rebuilding Vols are way down in the middle of the pack….the entire line of the offense and defense graduated.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Good morning!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

One link I got right after a few tries…the other….not so successful, so will return to work on it later. Looking forward to Limbaugh after not hearing him for 2 weeks for the most part, and hope it’s a good show.

lysie Looking forward to reading that Greg’s day was a good one!

    • tillacum says:

Now that’s my kind of breakfast. I’m in the process of losing 20 pounds, before mid October.

    • lysie says:

Wishing you much success, Till. I’ll be trying to do the same.

    • Jemian says:

You Vols have had a rough several years, haven’t you? The pendulum swings. You’ll be back on top soon.

I wish we weren’t rated quite as high right now. Pre-seaon polls are just hype and if you don’t live up to it, the fall can be rough. Of course, I think we’re #1. However, its all bragging until that whistle blows. We’ll see what happens.

    • Jemian says:

Till, good luck with the weight loss. I dropped a dress size this summer. I’m hoping the trend continues. I was slowly moving down the scale, but back in June, when I was so sick, I didn’t eat for about 10 days. That did it!

FYI, as a result of the high fever, my hands and feet started peeling on June 30. I still have some patches coming off. Not much, but not entirely done either.

    • The Raven says:

I wish I knew how to tweet. I’d like to tweet back to Axelrod and list the “stupid stuff” he did. The list is endless and if others get involved, it may bring down the Twitter server.

But the truth is, the Dems are great at being critical of their own policy failures after the fact. But where is the wisdom before implementation. THis is the stage where they all jump up and down with ecstasy

    • Prairie says:

On the tweeting, couldn’t Axlerod just delete you? I really don’t know how it works I’ve never done the Twitter stuff and disengaged my FB account months ago.

I know she’s playing carefully calculated politics but she appears as a lying coward in my book. As usual.

The Kennedy wing of the donks will support Elizabeth Warren, IMO. 6 years ago (with two more looooong years and countless lives lost to go), Kennedy support and the machinery that they have established was enough to bring about the Obungo victory…..time will tell if it will be enough again. Good article you linked.

  18. The Raven says:

If you are interested. Sounds like quite a “marriage”……

Nice day today here. We’ve seen several deer, including several bucks, 2 elk cows and 2 elk calves, prairie chickens, and a red tailed hawk. We haven’t ran across the big elk herds yet, but we will eventually. The prairie chickens are so stupid, they stand right in the road until you almost run over them.

    • Prairie says:

I suppose in the mountains they are more properly referred to as grouse.

    • lysie says:

Hello. Prairie. Love your animal report.

How could Williams do this to his children? How? He put his emotions ahead of all those who loved him. He made a tragic choice, and a selfish one.

    • Prairie says:

I’m waiting for the toxicology report. If he was drunk or drugged out, his judgment was impaired which may have diminished his ability to call on any self-control. Bipolarism was also present according to multiple reports.

Driving around this afternoon we saw a herd of about 30 elk cows and calves. The bulls hang out at even higher altitudes during the summer months coming back down in mid to late Sept and Oct. They probably spend their time playing cards and smoking cigars…..

    • The Raven says:

I remember back in the 08-09 years thinking Obama sounded serious about his policies but wouldn’t implement them if elected (like most liberal politicians). Sure enough, some of them, like closing Gitmo, were delayed, but he pretty much went down the radical left path. And the critics predicted all the negative stuff that would happen in the world if we did and it is happening right on schedule.
We have a do-nothing President who blames Congress (and of course, GWB) as do-nothing !! But that’s not true. Look how much worse it would have been if the House had been a total door mat.
He should announce his resignation on Sept 11.
      [morning rant complete]

I just started reading Rubin’s Silent Revolution: How the Left Rose to Political Power and Cultural Dominance – so far so good. He claims the radicals aren’t centrally organized… just sort of happened that way

Also …Obama’s constant fundraising is part of the strategy used in Colorado. I sure hope the ‘Pubs are reacting to this.

    • edinva says:

The quote mightn’t be so funny/sad/tragic if it weren’t so true!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That quote about sums it up, doesn’t it?

Good morning everyone, and thank you for the breakfast lysie

ED…..hello there! Summer travels, visitors about done?

    • edinva says:

hey, Molly … ALMOST! I have a friend coming to Balto next week, who I will join there, then in Sept my Beach Buddy is coming down for a week. It’s been a nice summer, can’t complain.

Today my niece’s little girl, who will be 3 in October, underwent Neurosurgery, involving drilling six holes into her little skull. Mid-summer she started having migraine headaches, then her head was tilted to the side, and couldn’t get straight. Before that she was an adorable bundle of sunshine. They tried a number of procedures. Today’s is the one they’d tried to avoid. What a nightmare. Apparently it started with a cold! Somehow it lead to a form of meningitis, and that’s what has caused all the trouble. Just breaks your heart. My niece has held up well. She has twin 10 year old boys, this 3 year old, and another little girl who will be a year old this month. Hands full! And then some. So, I’d ask for your prayers. After surgery, they have to keep a nearly 3 year old still for five days. Good luck with that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my gosh! Does some pressure have to be relieved? Is that the reason for the drilling? Prayers for your family’s strength and healing, yes.

      Also….update us, ok? Please….

    • edinva says:

Molly, I don’t know the full story. They tried a procedure @ 2 weeks ago, sort of a traction pull for her neck. It worked initially but didn’t solve the problem, so finally they had to break down and have the surgery today. I understand she’s in her room now, my niece will stay with her for the week. 5 days of not moving for a nearly 3 year old? Don’t know how they’re getting thru this. Will let you know whatever I find out when I DO find out, for now I’m using my nephew as messenger. Thanks for asking, Molly

    • Prairie says:

Prayers up for your niece’s little girl, ED.

    • Jemian says:

      Prayers ascending, Ed.
