America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- September 13 , 2014 – September 14 , 2014 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

This past Tuesday’s primary only 9 percent of the New York State’s 5.8 million Democrats bothered to vote. Let’s hope it’s a nationwide continuing trend.

Sad. Last night a Pennsylvania state trooper was killed and another injured after a shooting at a Pike County’s Blooming Grove state police barracks…about 35 miles from Scranton.

Obama administration once again forcing nuns to pay for abortion and contraception.

  4. The Raven says:

Obama’s Ship is Sinking – Goodwin, NY Post.

You know, it would help if he was a leader. The people give him low marks because the people have to do the leading. Have we ever had a Prez where we have to stomp our feet to get him to do something?

    Cartoon

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s a funny image…stomping our feet…well, “leader” and 0 don’t belong in the same sentence……and yet…..paradoxically, his mission is being accomplished: our destruction.

If the ancient oracles were still consulted, the puzzle would be one for them.

Oh Oracle of Delphi….how does 0 accomplish so much when he does so little?

Thinking thru this as I type the answer might just be:

The ramparts of freedom and civilization must be robustly maintained thru strong leadership and citizen guardianship and responsibility, otherwise they will be overwhelmed by the greater destructive forces of darkness and nihilism.

There is 0’s failure…..and ours. That might be the oracle’s answer.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh that is funny. You can just hear his voice…oh aaaaack..

the case of the mystery virus Powerline

Hmmmmmm……I was wondering about this, weren’t you?

    • lysie says:

Yes, as of yesterday three children have been hospitalized in the Syracuse area.

    • The Raven says:

We should have known. By the way, what is going on at the border…..are we still importing Democrats? It got really quiet, didn’t it?

    • tillacum says:

I’ve been thinking and speaking of this mystery virus coming from the influx of the kids from south American countries. We[‘ll probably be seeing other diseases popping up throughout the school year. We’ll see diseases we’ve controlled for decades showing up in coming months.

  6. The Raven says:

Check out Pelosi on Drudge……she is out of her mind. I bet she actually believes the 24/7 propaganda from her own party. The Dems have no clue what conservatives are all about. No clue. Unless that is a last ditch effort to get out the vote?

    • mustknowhistory says:

Oh no, not last ditch at all. We still have 6 weeks of this..

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Ha,ha….6 weeks. Yes indeed…a long 6 weeks.

      Evening all..

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi should not be any where near the positions they hold, but there they are. Truly the bottom of the barrel……I wonder how many young people know that old phrase?

  7. Jemian says:

Apropo of nothing else, our family had a bit of drama starting while I slept from Thursday to Friday. When I awoke, I read an email from The Bride that Jemian’s Terror had a heat stroke and was in the hospital at Ft. Benning. He spent some time in the ICU and then a day in a private room. I am very glad that someone noticed he was in difficulty and wrapped him in cooling blankets and he was spared. His temp got up to 106F. He is out of the hospital and probably returning to his home unit sometime this next week.

Everything is back to normal now.

  8. edinva says:

G’day, all … rain here today, all overcast and dreary with slightly chilly temps. Am loving it! I did not watch the ‘address to the nation’ the other eve, but read summaries, live threads, etc. Better on the blood pressure that way. Seems the Islamic State isn’t Islamic according to BHO. Simply amazing. Whodathunk it? Wait till the head-choppers find out, won’t they be surprised!!

Had an interesting week. Last Friday night, late, I noticed a ‘floater’ in my left eye. This sort of thing doesn’t happen mid weekday when docs office are open, right? So Monday I called my regular eye doc, saw him Wednesday; he was insistent I see my retina doc THIS WEEK, not next. Friday, early, I was at Mr. Retina Doc. As I’d suspected, I have something akin to macular degeneration, but it’s special: macular degeneration for nearsighted folks. It’s treatable, and we began treatment yesterday with a shot of avastin to the eyeball, and another scheduled in @ 6 weeks. Could be a lot worse. The funny/odd/it figures thing is that half the time at the docs was spent waiting for insurance to approve my getting the injection. Finally, they approved BUT not for 14 days! In 14 days I’d have been blind in that eye, but thanks, folks. So, I agreed to pay for the cost to the doc for the medicine and doc would ‘eat’ the difference. At least I’m pre-approved for the next shot.

Also, VA requires an emissions inspection for registration renewal. Doncha know, my car’s computer isn’t talking to the computer at DMV in RIchmond, so it failed! It’ll be fun to see what the cost will be to re-engage communications.

We have a U.S. Senate race in VA this year but you’d never know it. No signs anywhere that I’ve seen. It’s incumbent Mark Warner being challenged by Ed Gillespie, former head of the GOP and strategist responsible for many a GOP victory. I’d have thought Ed would have put up a fight, a good campaign, SOMETHING. Alas, I was wrong. The whole McDonnell thing hasn’t helped Rs in this state. Some other states had better come across; the Old Dominion done fell down.

    • Jemian says:

I am so glad you got to the opthomologist in time. It’s the “wet” macular degeneration, isn’t it? The treatment sounds very much like what my dad receives. How amazing, to me, is the shot in the eyeball. But, it is imminently treatable.

The McDonnell debacle is so disappointing. The GOP-e is so entrenched that even though he is absolutely the winner of the primary, those cross-over votes should be thrown out, McDonnell is meeting obstacles at every turn. I understand another court case will be heard or decided this coming week. It is hard to keep up with the events.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my gosh about your eye….I don’t think I could take a shot to the eyeball.

This seems to have come up suddenly?

  9. tillacum says:

Things you’ve not used in 30 years? lol, wait till you send it to Goodwill.

    • Jemian says:

Lysie, if you haven’t used it in 30 years, take pictures of it and then toss or give away. It is the memory the stuff brings, rather than the stuff, that you are keeping. A picture is so much smaller than the actual stuff. The memories will remain.

  10. Molly Pitcher says:

My husband is extra busy this Sat., so I am on my own with my own share of things to do….sometime in the mid to later afternoon we will meet to see if there’s anything else we can to do together to finish the day completely worn out! Ya know?

    So much for retirement….

    • The Raven says:

Ahhh, retirement. We are heading out next week on our Southern tour. The neighbors will use anyone in our driveway as target practice while we are gone. Mom is going into assisted living and we are taking the dogs with us.

I just realized that one stop at the world’s largest flea market is a problem…the flea market is only;y open weekends and I have the stop scheduled during the week. Need to rearrange everything or find something else to do there.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well….take this on my experience, but if you do get to the flea market…..be sure to leave space in whatever you start out with so that you have room for the flea market gems you find!

Shipping as an option….oh no, too expensive.

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
