America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- November 1 , 2014 – November 2 , 2014 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

Those of you in time zones that do..remember to fall back, my friends.

After being detained for 214 days, US Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi returns to the United States. A Mexican judge agreed to his release after Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Reps. Ed Royce (R-CA) and Matt Salmon (R-AZ) pushed for his release.

The stock market made some gains this week after the previous week of losses.

jihadism in the Netherlands sounds like a terrible situation in a small country

  2. lysie says:

The “boys” think their supper should be now since it’s getting dark-ish. They are staring at me as I go past the sliding glass door. Cripes it’s only 3:18. You’ll adjust lysie….you’ll adjust. /grump.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

The time change hit me like a ton of bricks about an hour ago. Hoping a nice long nite in bed straightens me out. Before then, all day, I was fine….

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  4. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

And now they must be punished. All of them.
Normally, I am not a partisan advocate. I am a registered Democrat, though I vote as an independent.
Not this year. This is a national emergency and the only responsible action is to vote Republican for every federal office.

Michael Goodwin, NY Post backing up Rush’s claim that the vote AGAINST the Dem’s is a temper tantrum and temporary. The benefits of a free country and free markets is beyond the grasp of John Q. Public.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well….we forgot to “do” Halloween!! Are we getting old or what?!! OR does talking about the Dems cover it? Certainly a scary topic….

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well I am not too pleased that the story seems to be about “competence” NOT ideology…I mean the story of the election…haven’t read your links, yet, and of course, the election hasn’t happened yet either, but that seems to be the “pre-word” on it. Who knows?

  5. Prairie says:

No federal civil rights charges expected against Darren Wilson

If it’s in the WashPo, you know that it was approved somewhere up the Obungo food chain. I think they keep dribbling these leaks to break the “bad news” to the blacks that there is no real evidence against Wilson. All that said, I wouldn’t go within 100 miles of Ferguson for a long time now.

    • Prairie says:

Totally unrelated to the above post, but we just saw Tim O’Brien (ex- Hot Rize bluegrass band star) on the Marty Stewart show. He played a solo on his fiddle and sang the lyrics, accompanying himself in perfect harmony on the choruses in what would be the other vocal part(s). It was way cool, sounded like the harmony vocals were there, except for just being the notes and not the actual words. If that makes sense.

He’s always been a very talented guy. Hot Rize was one of my favorite bands, fun to watch them from their early days to stardom. Their alter-ego band “Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers” were just a hoot. At a point in the show, one guy from Hot Rize would stand and keep talking to the audience while the other three moved off-stage. The schtick was that Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers were Hot Rize’s roady group but they whined so much that Hot Rize had to agree to let them play on stage once on a while. The other three band members would then come out in cowboy costumes and keep it going while the first guy quick-changed off-stage. They then commenced to playing some of the finest Western Swing you ever heard…all playing different instruments than they did as Hot Rize. The comedy was hilarious. Wonderful stuff those days……

    • Prairie says:

You can get a good flavor of both Hot Rize and Red Knuckles and the TB at This link
The website is “Dr. Banjo”, Hot Rize’s banjo player, Pete Wernick who plays the pedal steel on the Red Knuckles vid. If you remember the United flight that crashed and went cart-wheeling through the corn field several years back, Wernick, his wife and young son were on that plane. They all survived, walked off the plane and met up in the corn field. Wernick was on his way to a performance and his banjo made it through the crash too. Bizarre, life changing story. BTW, Tim O’Brian is the shorter guy doing vocals on the video’s. O’Brien was Red Knuckles.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I guess we should be thankful for some positive news….I was nearly certain that the administration would pursue Wilson here and beyond, tho.

    • edinva says:

Molly, can you imagine? The pressure the prosecutors had to be under with POTUS and AG on them, they couldn’t come up with enough against Wilson! Still, even with the leaks to ‘soften the blow’ when the announcement comes, I’d wager there will be rioting. I am not so sure how far beyond Ferguson that will extend.

If you look at NY’s Harlem and DC’s 9th St. Corridor, both harmed severely by the 60s riots, and both enjoying an incredible renaissance, will folks be wiling to go backward, even when the Obama/Holder DOJ couldn’t find enough to charge Wilson? I’m hoping not.

NO warmer here today but at least the sun’s shining. We should hit mid-60s by midweek before going back to 50s. I remind self that in a month or two we’d LOVE to have 50s.

    • lysie says:

Thanks for the link and info, Prairie. Great way to forget the crud happening. Just sit back and listen to the harmony and pickin’.

  6. edinva says:

G’day all: winter sure set in quickly, didn’t it? A few days ago we were in shorts; today, multi-layers, hats, AND thermies. brrrrrr. Snow in SC on 11/1 set a record. At least it’s going to warm up again next week and we’ll have a respite before the real cold sets in. Maybe an Indian Summer even?

I CANNOT WAIT for Tuesday. All the hype about Rs taking the Senate scares me; wish they’d all just SHUT UP!!! The D’s will do anything and everything, calibrating, whatever to win. Makes me nervous. DH and I will be election officials again. I DO hope the county’s multi-million dollar investment in new voting machines pays off and they perform as promised and get us out of there an hour or so after the polls close, instead of 2-3 hours. It’s a long, long day. Then again, by the time we get home, who cares what the results were! I DO hope (and expect) it’s going to be good.

VERY happy for Sgt. Tahmooressi and his family that this ordeal is over. Obama had nothing to do with it, tho he IS busy manipulating gas prices and the stock market as is done at election time. And pushing around states that defy his “Ebola policy.” A little late, but it seems the country is catching on to him as his approval has plummeted down @ where Bush was at this time in his presidency. Tho, W’s was nowhere near as deserved.

    Stay warm. And dry.

    • Jemian says:

Working on the dry part, the warm will be easy.

I don’t know what to think about Tuesday. My hopes have been dashed both on election day and in the years that follow. I’m glad God knows what He’s doing.

Pleas pray for Quan Tredwell. He injured his ankle on one of the last plays of today’s game. It looked serious, enough to be a career ending injury.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning ladies….yes, our bodies are adjusting…somehow I’ve managed to enjoy Fall a little more this year.

So sorry about your player Jemian Hope there is some good news re : his injury.

    • lysie says:

      Hi, ed and Jem.

About the weather…my problem is I want to go outside fast….forgetting a jacket. Brrrr. Must remember a jacket.

I watched some of the game , Jem. I was a bit worried early in the game, but then they pulled ahead. Prayers up for Quan Tredwell. That must be an awful injury.

    • Jemian says:

The good news is that Tredwell did not break his ankle. He did suffer a broken leg and a dislocated ankle. Those are season-ending injuries. Tredwell has been a power-house all season and could have enjoyed a great pro–career. It was a very tough game. In the end we were able to pull it out, but only because we scored last. There is a reason many of us call our teams “Cardiac Tigers.”

  7. The Raven says:

I don’t understand… There are 10 dead heats in the Senste races and voter fraud gives the Dems the edge, so why are people favoring the Pubs?

    • lysie says:

      Thanks Molly. Those are great.

Greg and his brother are at the camp. Far too cold and windy for me. Luckily there is a furnace and the propane tank is full. They will need it tonight and tomorrow morning.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

And you are toasty and keeping the animals company! Sounds good to me.

My husband has cleaned out a small small corner of his study…one thing that means is he has shifted a bunch of items to me to make decisions about!

    • The Raven says:

      That’s a guy thing

    • lysie says:

In all honesty I’m very happy for Greg and his brother. They rarely see each other and need the alone time.

Ha! Rav, you admit it’s a guy thing. LOL I had no clue you would do that. Ha!

Each gender has its quirks that’s for sure. And yes, I AM speaking for myself. Believe it or not I’m not perfect. 😉 LOL

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      It’s a guy thing! LOL….probably so….

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
