America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- January 24 , 2015 – January 25 , 2015 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest suggested that if middle class families are worried about O’s plan to raise taxes on families saving for college by eliminating the tax-free money withdrawn from 529C accounts they should send their children to a (free) community college.

Beyond arrogance, I say.

Does O think he can change the tax laws by bypassing the House and issue an executive order?

lysie, I think the money was taxed once, why should it be taxed again? Put it in Tax Free Annuity.

    • lysie says:

Agree, till. It was my understandings O wants to tax 529C accounts when there are withdrawals. If your child attends college you must withdraw for tuition, etc.

I think he’s warming up…… he’ll confiscate the retirement and medical savings.

    • edinva says:

The 529 college savings plans were SUPPOSED to be tax free. It was an incentive to families to put aside $ for their kids’ education, and prevent what’s going on now with kids ending up with tens if not hundreds of thousands in college loan debt that cannot be wiped out, even in bankruptcy.

VA has/had a 529 to pay for state schools’ tuition. IIRC, the tuition cost was established at whatever it was when the family began the plan so it wasn’t subject to yearly tuition increases. But who knows when a kid’s born or even 12, 13, 14 years old if they’re going to want to go to a state school? Nonetheless, families who’ve worked for, budgeted, and put aside $ for their kids’ college educations, with the offer of its being tax free, should not have that taken from them in order to pay for ‘free’ education for others. I’d assume that these people already are in a fairly well-taxed bracket, so are subsidizing the state universities and community colleges in any case.

What’s wrong with kids going to Jr. College. That way they get the requirements out of the way and they can concentrate on their major. Nothing wrong with that. My sister began in Jr, with the GI Bill, then moved on up to a phd….and it’s true she can pile it higher and deeper. I think it would be a good idea to begin in a Jr. college and move up, if the student is qualified, too many today, are not. In fact I think many are more qualified for a vocational school. How many butchers, electricians, plumbers are out of a job today?

    • lysie says:

Nothing wrong at all, till, but should it be free and then tax the accounts of those saving for 4 year college?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Evening ladies. Are you trying to understand another Dem racket? Goooood luck.

    • edinva says:

Till, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the 2 year community college program. I have two who went that route. The WH arrogance was in telling families who are concerned because they have been saving since the kid was born or maybe first grade for his/her college education that the govt is going to tax those savings away, while offering *FREE* community college education to everyone else (with THEIR tax money!)

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

Hi all…again. I appreciate Sen. Mendezez’s raising the alarm on Iran.

  5. tillacum says:

    Good Morning All.
Molly I think a LOT of people tuned the SOTUS off this time. Hubby watched, but tired of the verbal after 20 minutes or so.
Rave, I agree with Michael Walsh. In every way possible, this creature shows he is of the muslim “faith”. He is on his way to meet the new leader of Saudi Arabia. He stayed away from France when world leaders joined with France to show they were against acts of violence. OH, yes, They were leaders.
His underlings are calling a long time friend names for accepting an invitation to speak with our
elected of both parties. Oh, I just thought of something. Will the WH recommend the democrats not attend BiBi’s speech?

    • edinva says:

      Good morning, all

With regard to your suggestion, Till, that the WH might recommend Dems not attending Bibi’s speech …. they are in a jihad against anyone – anyone – who crosses Herr Obama. They are putting out warnings to Sen. Menendez (D-NJ) who has now TWICE taken on the WH, first with regard to its Iran policy when he said (I paraphrase) their talking points sound like they are straight out of Teheran. He followed up with complaints about their Cuba policy. He will pay a price.

The November elections left Obama & Co. more dangerous than ever. Like a rat cornered. The next 2 years (minus four days, but who’s counting?) will not be pretty. Let us hope and pray that a strong Republican challenger to Hillary or Elizabeth emerges, and that there can be some kind of unity within the GOP and its affiliates.

The forecast snow for the biiiiiiig storm here turned to rain! And not even much of that. Nonetheless, there were runs on markets for the usual emergency supplies. Now another is forecast for Monday. WIsh we’d just get a big snow and get it over with. I’m ready!

If Rs won’t fight for late term babies, what will they fight for? What do you think?

Chores need to get done. Back later

    • Jemian says:

In answer to your baby question, there hasn’t been any news. One or two pics from the other grandparents’ visit. I’m hoping Carissa is sleeping through the night, but, really, it’s a bit early for that. I think The Youngest is having a visit from one of her best high school buddies. That will be good for her.

JT and The Bride went to a marriage retreat this weekend. The pictures show they’re having a good time.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Pics are good Jemian. Glad to get the news.

I wonder how much the Russians will charge us to use their satellite for emergency calls?
About the same amount they charge to ferry one of our astronauts to the space ship?

    • lysie says:

Insane. I think all taxpayers who owe taxes this year should send checks to the IRS via Russian Post Office or whatever they call it over there.

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

      Morning quote:

“…there were too many “academic and political hacks” with “hard-core ideology” who are running the country without making progress.

-Jeb Bush in his first main candidate speech.

All the main players so far are Democrat wannabees on immigration…….

But, I’ll tell you, I’m getting fired up with Rubio stirring, Bush, Romney, making moves, and noises from Perry, Carson, Christy, Warner, Pataki, Portman, Jindal, Hucklebee, Santorum, Paul, and Cruz. I’m looking forward to each of them coming forward with a program that will tear apart Obama’s dream and heave it into the ocean.

This time, I’m going to try and stay calm when RINOs say things I don’t like because Obama always says things I don’t like and Hillary will be the same.

The balance of brains, charisma and solid conservative credentials with this pack will be fun to watch. I’m pulling for Cruz but don’t think he has the charisma gene.

For those of you like me with cholesterol problems….—there’s a new pill coming……a revolutionary breakthrough in cholesterol medicine. The PCSK9 inhibitor. More here.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Hmmmmmmm….good morning.
I am still mesmerized by the WH’s appalling threats to Netanyahu. The WH is being disrespected. Give me a break! They pioneered its use starting with the earliest days of 2009 and their arrival in Washington.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks for the cholesterol med. news. Passing it along to DH. And speaking of him, something was really “off” in the Pitcher household Tues night. He completely skipped the SOTU to watch old Law and Order reruns!

He has never ever done that because he likes to “stay informed” no matter what…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I am going to see the Turing movie next week, also. BTW, there were more women watching AS yesterday than men. A small to medium sized crowd and the women just outnumbered the men. A large # of women going to see that movie also would explain the hi box office numbers, too, I’m thinking.

    • The Raven says:

I stopped watching Law and Order when they became too far left.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh yes…he’s catching up on some real oldies…got the DVDs from the library. Our county/city library has one of the best DVD library collections in the country. It’s very, very good.
      HA! good cartoon!

    • lysie says:

      Hi Molly and Rav.

Greg and son went ice fishing once again. Greg asked me to go. I said, ” Are you nuts?”

Is anyone else sick of all the “it’s about me” reports on Fox and Friends? Look at me..I did this. Look at me..look at me. Look at my son..he did this. (Aww, how cute, but keep it to yourself and family not national news.)

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh my…no, I don’t watch that early show. I have become addicted to Megyn Kelly however

    • The Raven says:

      Quote 2

It’s easy to despise Barack Hussein Obama, perhaps the least qualified man ever to accede to the Oval Office. The empty resume, the imaginary biographies, the laziness, the arrogance, the profligacy with the public treasury, the weakness, the cowardice and the cringing servility when dealing with America’s enemies abroad: his six years as president of the United States — a presidency we will all look back upon someday with wonder, shame and national embarrassment …. The man is a disgrace.
