    Good morning everyone.

Took Greg to Urgent Care yesterday afternoon. Dr. gave him antibiotics. After a few hours at home, Greg got worse so I took him to the emergency room around 9 PM. Just got home. He’s staying a few nights. They may try meds. or surgery if surgeon suggests. Minimal damage. One infection burst. I’m so happy we didn’t listen to the first doctor. He suggested waiting 24-48 hours.

Going to try to rest after taking care of animals.

      Appendicitis?

    • lysie says:

      Rav, diverticulitis.

      Greg just text me this:

The surgeon just talked to me. They are going to avoid surgery first. I haven’t moved to my new room, yet. I am going to be here at least a few days.

      😦

    • lysie says:

Must get sleep. Been awake for 28 hours.

Don’t expect another breakfast when I wake up. 🙂 LOL

    • mustknowhistory says:

I am so sorry. Take care.

    • tillacum says:

Lysie, so sorry Greg is in such discomfort and a “bubble” broke. It’s a good thing you didn’t listen to the first Dr. Now take some time for yourself and get some rest. Then you can worry about Greg. We’ll worry while you get some rest and sleep. Prayers up for the both of you.

      lysie, so sorry you and Greg are going thru this. Based on my long-ago experience, they will keep him a few days and the surgeon will recommend continuing with antibiotics (@ 2-3 weeks), then return for the surgery. Sometimes the surgery requires a ‘correction’ afterwards. I hope for now he’s out of pain and the infection is clearing up at warp speed. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ok, I was thinking you had made that trip to the hospital…Praying that the meds work and surgery is avoided lysie. Sure sounds like you acted in time. That is something to be thankful for.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope everything is ok, lysie. Thinking of Greg and you

I am off on interesting trip down into and thru the valley with the snow…not too much so far, but going north may change things. Back later

Aloe is so good for anything. I’ve never had trouble in the tummy, but hubby has and I had a terrible time getting him to make one swallow in his orange juice. Finally he did, and I gave him about 2 ounces per day with his juice for the day. It works all the way through the stomach area. We take ours with juice, of any kind and even put it in a breakfast smoothie along with Hemp protein. I’m a firm believer in good things to keep our ole bods in tip top shape.

Good morning ! Do you think the measles outbreak and the way it’s spreading thru the west has something to do with the unvaccinated illegal children let into the country last summer?

    • lysie says:

      Yes, I do.

Please pray for Greg. On occasion he gets a diverticulitis attack. He hasn’t had one in a few years until yesterday afternoon. I may have to take him for care. I pray the home “treatments” will prevent that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh, yes, prayers offered for a quick recovery for Greg. Glad you let us know , dear ((((lysie)))). Take care of yourself, too.

Ahead of the next storm, I’m headed to grocery this a.m.

But yu will never hear it from our media…it is verbotin

    • edinva says:

Lysie, sorry to hear about Greg. My husband had severe diverticulitis years ago. He opted out of the surgery the docs had recommended, and went on a special diet. The first thing I’d recommend is getting some aloe vera juice (Geoge’s is the best, most bland, and available at health food stores – not GNC) Have him drink 4 ozs before each meal.

The actual diet my husband followed was complex AND expensive with all kinds of vitamins/minerals, etc. Living the diet was pretty time consuming. He followed it religiously for a year or two (lost 40 lbs in the process that he never regained). The diet cut out dairy (substitute is acidopholous?), had only non-citrus fruit for b’fast, veggie sandwich on 9-grain for lunch, with fish/white meat at dinner. I don’t want to take up ATRW bandwidth with the details, many of which I don’t remember, but he’s never had another diverticulitis attack. The last was 1993.

Good luck to both of you, I hope it clears up quickly for him.

    • lysie says:

      Ed, thanks for the tips.

Yes, Aloe. I forgot about that. My aunt is a health food/vitamin/ mineral follower. She talks about aloe often. I will check it out for Greg.

      Thanks again.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I had never heard of that aloe treatment, but do know by experience that diet in some illnesses and chronic intestinal conditions plays a huge role. Some years back I gave up all, ALL, acidic foods for a whole year…salad dressings, tea, chocolate, tomotoes, etc., while my system got well.

Then I re introduced them all very carefully, and ever since have been ok, but alert to any problems, and still watch what I eat .

    • tillacum says:

I’m sure it’s true the illegal children have brought the measles and virus with them? This administration and media have been pretty silent about these two outbreaks among American children. There is also an increase in head lice and probably impetigo and other skin diseases. I wouldn’t be surprised if some addicted children have been sent here too. We can thank this whole administration and the democrat elected in dc for allowing this to happen and I also blame the Republican elected in dc for not being more
      vigilant with this Marxist/muslim.

    Good morning everyone.
