America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- February 2, 2015 – February 6, 2015 Remember 9/11

The President is coming under increasing fire for his administration’s failure to identify the enemy, and develop a strategy to fight the worldwide threat of Islamic Terror.

New Presidential polls reveal surprising strength in Walker’s position and weakness in Bush’s. The Romney withdrawal may not be such a plus after all for Jeb.

And 2 pieces of good news: Boko Haram has suffered some severe losses in a raid on its positions in Nigeria, and closer to home, a video of a store clerk walking a blind, elderly customer home in the cold and snow has attracted quite a lot of views this weekend. Goodness still exists in the world and we can find it when we look.

More transformation What the regulators what to do with the internet

  2. The Raven says:

Morning Quotes (after the Prayer Breakfast speech):

“…. This is just the moment to dilate on Christendom’s sins, isn’t it? While Christians are being driven from the Mideast? [Obama] always says these things as if he’s the enlightened one facing the facts of the buried past instead of the cornered one defeated by complexity, hard calls and ambivalence. He is lost. His policy is listlessness punctuated by occasional booms.”
    – Peggy Noonan

“…..for once he didn’t blame Bush”
    -James Taranto, WSJ

“..The Medieval Christian threat is under control, Mr. President. Please deal with the Radical Islamic threat today.”
    -Bobby Jindal

    • Molly Pitcher says:

mkh and Raven the Jindal comment is terrific.

The President is the one on the ” high horse”. As Noonan says, he thinks, tho, he is the enlightened One.

    • edinva says:

Too bad Noonan wasn’t more skeptical about Obama back in ’07–’08. Alas, she was one who seemed to think he walked on water. Back then she was too big on trashing Sarah Palin to look objectively at Obama. So anything she says now is years late, trillions short. But thanks, anyway, Peggy.

  3. Prairie says:

Raven My husband’s head has been exploding about the illegals and the Earned Income Tax Credit for a few months now.

We’re seeing on the news that ISIL is saying the American woman died in the Jordanian airstrikes. Bull roar. I’d bet cash money that she’s been dead for a long time. Terrible for her family….

  4. The Raven says:

    T G I F

    I know, don’t be cruel

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

OK! Yesterday went all right? And today will too.

Thanks for the breakfast lysie Have y’all figured out what may have set off the attack? My friend who had to have heart surgery last Sept. with an extremely clogged artery is trying to figure out if the year before she was doing anything different with her diet to bring it all on.

    • lysie says:

Yes, Molly. We think it was Greg eating peanuts and blackberries over the past few months. Not gonna do that anymore. Not…not ..not.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Blackberries for sure! Dang…

When my husband got home from his Men’s Bible study last night, I asked him if he and his friends had razed any villages, ravaged any women, tortured any children. He said, no, of course not, and I replied, well there’s always tomorrow.

      He was not amused.

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

A recent Homeland Security Committee hearing on immigration revealed an alarming consequence of President Obama’s executive amnesty—that illegal immigrants with deferred status may be able to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Moreover, this person, who is here in the U.S. unlawfully, could be able to file an amended tax return for up to the last three tax years, possibly receiving upwards of $24,000 in tax credits.

  6. The Raven says:

    Democrats in the News

Brian Williams – Katrina this time
Brian Williams – Brokaw’s take – fire him
Brian Williams – too big to fail – Howard Kurtz

  7. Prairie says:

    Obama readies war powers pitch

The White House is poised to send a formal request to Congress asking for a new authorization to use military force against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. No doubt some focus groups have been giving input to Valerie Jarrett.

Slightly related, I’ve been reading some interesting stuff on Honor/Shame cultures and interacting with them and the differences between them and Western culture which is focused on the individual and rule of law while H/S cultures are all about preserving at least the appearance of honor to the family, the male of the household etc. Shame-based cultures must be both astonished and amused at Stinky’s poor reaction to many events concerning foreign policy. There is no way that 0 can have “face” in those cultures. It’s abominable that he has the support that he has here.

  8. Prairie says:

Senate Democrats Vote to Shut Down Department of Homeland Security

Let me guess….and the Majority Republicans let them get away with it.

  9. Prairie says:

The odious Nancy Pelousy is out giving code-speak messages in the press, basically encouraging RATs to not show up at Netanyahu’s speech before congress. Greta VanSustern reacted superbly, IMO. She was so disgusted with Pelousy’s code-speak to the donks that Greta said if any of the congresscritters didn’t show up to the speech, she would send out cameras to track them down and see what they were doing instead of being there. LOL!

Played a benefit concert at the rehab place that our friend is at. He’s losing ground, IMO. Which happens with prolonged immobility. The residual effects from the stroke are too severe for him to gain any level of independence back. It’s been two and a half months and he still can’t turn himself in bed. She is adamant that she won’t put him in a nursing home but acknowledges she can’t take care of him alone. Very bad situation.

  10. Molly Pitcher says:

    Afternoon news….

Calls for Brian Williams to be fired in the wake of what to name this…..”.WilliamsGate”? “HeloGate”?….you know what I mean..

The President was at it again this a.m., drawing the moral equivalency picture at the National Prayer Breakfast before an audience which wasn’t buying it

And Smart Move: Pentagon moving assets in the area into better positions to respond in case one of our planes is shot down fighting ISIS

  11. Molly Pitcher says:

Too juicy to pass up Details from David Axelrod’s upcoming book

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

I’ll try to check in when I can. I need to be with Greg. He’s doing well. I want to keep it that way.

  13. The Raven says:

    Democrats in the news

Senate Dems in the minority stomping their feet – You won’t believe this one.

Brian Williams – admits he lied.

Tom Wheeler – The man who will destroy the internet.

  14. The Raven says:

I just ran out and bought the one and only winning Powerball ticket. All of you should now save your money and stay home.

  15. The Raven says:

    Beginning of the end headline:
FCC Chairman Proposes Utility-Like Regulation for Broadband Internet

In order to make room for Netflix, we’ll need to

    a) Remove those bandwith hoggers like Free Republic, Powerline, etc
    b) Make contributions to the Democrat Party

Every agency we have is corrupt. EPA, IRS, VA, FDA, XYZ……

  16. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  17. Prairie says:

Good evening all. Watching the coverage of the immolation of the Jordanian pilot….animals. And I highly suspect that the Jordanians don’t have the delicate squeamishness about waterboarding and associated tactics that the US does, so the female ISIS member that they will execute in a few hours has probably already coughed up (ahem!) everything they can get out of her. Oh well, apparently there is no Islamic terrorism at least according to Barky. Why the republicans let him get away with these travesties, I’ll never understand. Too many cool Washington DC cocktail parties to risk not getting invited to perhaps. grrrr…!

Lysie, I hope that Greg is better, I must’ve missed what was going on, but sounds like he’s OK. Mr. Prairie has caught a cold, hopefully he’s better tomorrow too. So far, I’m hanging in there, but I don’t want to tempt providence either. Our band will play a benefit on Thursday at the rehab center where our friend who had the stroke is still at. That stroke happened just before Thanksgiving…..I am concerned that he will not ever recover enough strength and abilities to allow him to go home. Bad situation.

    • Prairie says:

Speaking of watching the coverage, I can’t say that I care much for Rear Adm. John Kirby. When he does a presser, I just don’t find him fully credible. Besides, I finally figured out who he reminds me of (hope this posts correctly):

    • Prairie says:

      darn….I don’t remember how to post a pix I guess…oh well

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It looks like you posted it all right, prairie not sure why it didn’t appear…

I don’t much care for Kirby either. And what about 0 making that statement on the horror?? He was slumped over the table…his voice and words weak. But slumped over! Just an awful appearance.

  18. The Raven says:

    Just saw Amer. Sniper…good flick

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Aw… What did you think of the ending?

    • The Raven says:

You mean the parade scenes….great. We went to the noon showing and there were maybe 5 people there …so not the same crowd reactions as a filled theater !! I immediately got on the web afterwards to see if he really did score a hit from over a mile away. He did……but not as depicted. He also didn’t kill a child. But he did tell lies…..When he got home, he bragged that he shot some bad guys at a gas station, that he killed New Orleans looters post Katrina and that he got in a fight with Jessie Ventura (his estate lost that one in court).

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, he was not a perfect person. At times, humble, at other times that bragging. I think it must have be part of the PSTD that is depicted in the movie. He had a hard time readjusting and needed still to fulfill a mission. The simplicity of the ending and the lovely music…the trumpet playing that perfect melody…mournful and stoic at the same time.

  19. Molly Pitcher says:

Afternoon news…a horrific video of the murder of the Jordanian hostage pilot has appeared. He will be considered a hero by his countrymen.

SF bookstore a casualty of the city’s hike of minimum wage. Seems like some were surprised that this would happen!

And..Manufacturing declines in December…also global demand falls

  20. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  21. The Raven says:

In the news – Johnny football :

Browns quarterback Johnny “Football” Manziel — off to rehab (drugs & alcohol??)

  22. lysie says:

Sitting here with lots to do, but thought I would watch morning TV….

Price Is Right. Where the heck did Bob Barker go? LOL That’s about how long it has been and longer.

  23. tillacum says:

lysie, great news about Greg. I’ll bet he was funny when he was “under”. Happy to hear he’s doing well.
Rave, hubby couldn’t believe what he was watching. It’s almost as if Pete Carroll threw the game. (I doubt he did), but even I new he made a terrible call. I doubt he’ll be with the Seahawks tomorrow.
I saw a poll, after Romney dropped out, Jeb Bush dropped to 3rd place. Scott Walker at 19%, Huckabee at 16%, Jeb Bush at 9%, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and ? at 6%. What the standing is today, who knows.

  24. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  25. The Raven says:

First time in maybe 20 years- I watched the super bowl until the end…. And what an end!. The Seahawks were about to win and then the Seahawks coach ( 9/11 truther, Pete Carroll) made the absolute worse call I have seen in my lifetime. And they lost. He should resign. Really, really bad call.

BTW, Molly, those polls showing Walker good and Bush bad were taken before Mitt dropped out…..I’m guessing Bush picks up most of Mitt’s (establishment) votes? Don’t you think?

    Democrats in the news

    1) de Blasio again. More anti-cop actions speaking louder than words. AND those lawsuits !!!!
    2) Joe Biden – He literally causes dictionary publisher to drop word from dictionary /s
    3) Progressive Women — Men Should Avoid them For Their Own Safety – P Howley

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I heard about that call. Yikes! How can a coach make such a bad call? Pressure?

I misread the details about when that poll was taken, it looks like. And that’s the prevailing thought about Romney’s backing out & what it means for Bush, yes.
