  1. Molly Pitcher says:

Today marks the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. May God bless those many, many families affected by that war, and those whose remains rest in far away places.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning friend. Hoping you have a good day as you roll into the exciting weekend.

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Molly. Thanks.

Sarah received the final test grade she was worried about. Got a B. Yay! She’s such a worrier..like her Mama.

    • tillacum says:

Good Morning Everyone. Thank you for breakfast lysie.
      YIPPEE, David Cameron WON!

    • edinva says:

Cameron and Conservatives won big in UK. They may not be OUR idea of conservative, but their left is to the left of our left, soooooo it’s all relative. Maybe Brits are getting a little tired of their hospitality being taken advantage of by the new immigrants. Of course, the solution to that in the US, thanks to POTUS, is just to make the immigrants a majority. Problem solved.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Friday, YAY!

  3. Prairie says:

Experts: Chances rise that U.S. Supreme Court will take John Doe case The latest on the WI O’Keefe vs. (rogue prosecutor) Chisholm case before the US SCOTUS

Beware Baltimore’s ‘No Justice, No Peace’ Prosecutor Andrew McCarthy on the Baltimore DA’s tremendous over-reach (an excellent legal analysis, worth the read)

  4. Prairie says:

Lysie congratulations to Sarah and also you and Greg (parents need these milestones too!)

Good afternoon all. Mr. Prairie and I attended the county observance of the National Day of Prayer this morning and enjoyed it a lot. What do you suppose Mr. Obama would say to hear an incredibly strong intercessory prayer that publically asserted that his heart is hardened and then prayed for the Lord to soften it? How do you suppose he would react to hear a heartfelt appeal for the blood of Christ to be applied to him? This strong female prayer warrior didn’t stop there…she prayed through the microphone for the House and Senate to be led by God’s own principles in writing their legislations. And then…the SCOTUS. A verbal appeal for the Lord to impress their hearts not to legalize same sex marriage and to uphold traditional marriage. Then she went on to county and local officials and judges, imploring the Father to help them resist being led into bribery and corruption. To hear her loudly declare that America is a CHRISTIAN NATION! (Mr. Prairie and I had been calling “Amen!” all along and by this time the rest of the crowd was joining in loudly).

And this was just the first of several pastors, educators and community leaders who stood fast for Judeo-Christian values. The Border Patrol and local LE’s were heavily represented and the color guard was piped in with a real bagpipe (very well played I might add, but then, it’s Edinburg, TX after all). A rider-less horse honored all of the fallen LE’s and Border Agents, the latter were recognized individually going all the way back to 1925. Taps was played. And once again the bagpipes sounded their wail to Amazing Grace.

On a personal note we saw a couple of fellows that we knew and it was good to reconnect with them. It was a privilege to be present and honor those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms. And to hear even local school officials call for recognition of Jesus Christ in our schools. Wow.

The scourge of abortion was prayed against in our nation and an appeal for forgiveness of our sin and a healing and revival of our nation. School children were present. People came and went but the celebration goes on until 8 PM. I was struck anew at how GRATEFUL I am to have been born in this great land America. While I cannot repay evil with evil and will await God’s judgment for that, I will stand firm for His commands, this nation and against the evil of satan’s influence against us.

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie and good luck Raven on your mowing today.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome, Molly.

Wow! What a beautiful day. The leaves are almost full on the trees and flowering shrubs. Beautiful!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Yes….we have some early a.m. fog……

In local news: Johnny Manziel (sp?) has moved out of the downtown area to a gated golf community in the ‘burbs in an effort to stay on his new track.

The Cold Case squad has tracked down someone on the lamb for decades….the guy escaped prison in 1959!

    • lysie says:

I can’t imagine the life he lead during those years. Constant fear of someone finding out.

Cripes. When younger guilt was all over my face when I took a cookie from the cookie jar before dinner,

    • tillacum says:

Thanks lysie, I’ll have that, sans toast.
The whitehut says it’s too early to accept ISIS’s claim for the Garland,TX trouble.

    • lysie says:

Good morning, till. You are welcome.

Taking a break from stall cleaning. One done..one to go.

I have to admit we let them go a bit over this horrible past winter. Lesson learned..no matter how frigid… clean them each and every day.

    • lysie says:

      Woohoo. Stalls are done.

    • edinva says:

Good morning, all. Lysie, that is one beautiful breakfast.

I’m laughing as I scroll down these comments. The WH isn’t ready to accept ISIS’s taking credit for Garland, but you can bet they are ALL OVER the charges, however absurdly drawn, against the 6 Balto cops, right? And now, Her Honor, rhetorically speaking, is partnering with DOJ under AG Lynch to ‘fix’ the Balto PD. Nothing about “fixing” the dysfunction in “the community,” only the cops. In the meanwhile, the Moore family and NYPD prepare for the burial of a 25 year old police officer killed in the line of duty. How topsy turvy is the world we live in???

And into this topsy turvy world, next Fall our nuclear family will welcome its first newborn. Our eldest, daughter Molly, is expecting on or about 11/1. So joy rings throughout the land, or at least our family. DH and I married late, so our children and theirs are a generation behind their cousins. Molly’s oldest cousin’s son graduated from college @ 4-5 years ago. We are very spread out on a time span.

Looking forward to tomorrow to see how the UK decides on its future. It’ll be interesting to see if Cameron can hold on. Supposedly Labour/Tories are neck and neck. But that’s the Guardian, so who knows? I guess the UKIP is taking a bite out of what are called the “conservatives'” there. And it’s a long, long way to November ’16. REALLY long!

    • lysie says:

Good afternoon, ed. Congratulations!!!! Exciting months ahead with the upcoming birth of your grandchild.

    • edinva says:

lysie, thanks! Looking forward to it.

    • The Raven says:

Johnny M going straight? Did he quit drinking?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Johnny Football spent the winter in a recovery facility.

Yikes…the weather near OKC….prayers for those folks as they’ve been hit too often too hard.

  7. The Raven says:

That article on Hillary incompetence is funny

The case that her supporters put forward on her behalf — she has flown nearly a million miles, visited more than 100 countries, read briefing books (!) and had tea with local power brokers (!!) – highlights just how pathetic her achievements are.

But misses her greastest asset- just like Obama……demagoguing and winning.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s right. It’s no holds barred on the demagoguing. The question becomes: are we willing to accept this anymore? Clearly, they will keep it up til stopped.

  8. Molly Pitcher says:

25 Years of Climate Tipping Points It’s a catastrophic disaster going to kill the whole planet….25 times over….and over

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ok, that is delicious as usual.

Yesterday I had lunch with my old singing group..women, aging women with aging husbands….Oh my gosh, the number of accidents, illnesses, scares in the year since I have seen most of them…One of them had been rushed to the ER just yesterday a.m., and so that was the very latest…so I keep all of them in my heart and prayers, and didn’t sleep well last night, still processing it all.

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Molly.

I’ll keep your friends in my prayers.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks dear lysie. My husband mowed the back yard yesterday. Then it rained. Now, it looks like it grew an inch over night!

    • lysie says:

We had a small amount of rain last night, too.

    • The Raven says:

Speaking of mowing…..I dropped off our riding mower on March 22 for a maintenance (oil change, etc) …. and they still have it. They said it would be done in three weeks and that was three weeks ago.

    • lysie says:

      Seems a bit long, Rav.

Molly, you are correct…the grass grew like crazy last night. Still, not complaining.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Sounds like everyone arrived with their mowers to be worked on at the same time!

Avoid the spring rush! Take your mower in in Jan.! LOL! Sure….

    • The Raven says:

That is the excuse they used, Molly P. – that there were 40 ahead of me and they are way behind. As I suggested to them, they should have told me that when I dropped it off and I would have done the maintenance myself. They called yesterday….It is finished at last and I can pick it up today. And I need to get going on mowing the lower 40 ASAP.

  10. lysie says:

Feeder is out. Greg saw one today.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Cool!

And May the 4th be with you!

(Just heard this little quip on Fox News to honor the new Star Wars movie …)

    • tillacum says:

Ours are green with a beige breast. One is just terrible! I have 4 feeders out and he won’t let any other hummer near any of them. He dive bombs them, he swoops up under them and chases them away. He is so belligerent.

    • The Raven says:

OMG – You should have put it as quote of the year !!!

“May the 4th be with you!”

  11. Prairie says:

It seems that things got a bit spirited in Garland TX last night. So far I haven’t heard how it’s being spun, probably much of the leftist media will criticize the art exhibit and blame them, exonerating the ISIS jihadis.

Of course, if the greenies or the pro-abortion groups were having an event, that would be entirely OK, protected under the 1st Amendment. And an anti-Christian group, that would be celebrated by the left. But this, will likely fall under the category of the Double Standard that we have all grown accustomed to. At least the cops popped the perps and there were no other lethal casualties.

    Don’t mess with Texas.

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  13. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

“… it’s time to consider fitting Hillary with her own body camera.”

    -D.W. Wilber, Townhall

    Morning quiz:

Which weapon of mass destruction will have the greatest effect on the world population in the next decade?

    a) Nuclear bombs and their delivery systems (eg, A-bombs, H-bombs, cruise missiles, ICBMs)
    b) Biological and chemical weapons (eg sarin, anthrax, Plague, SmallPox)
    c) Liberalism (eg, family breakup, religion harassment, wealth transfer, low growth and debt, crime escalation, excessive taxation, tyranny, race baiting, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago)

    • lysie says:

      c) because it allows a) and b) to happen?????

Gracious, no body camera please. 🙂

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      C. especially if you include the last 50 years. Let’s call it Leftism or “progressivism”?

    • The Raven says:

I like liberalism because of the negative connotation they brought to the word – not the confusion with classic liberalism!!! But left and progressive work as well.

      Morning quote #2

“….the Democrats really have the extreme position here.”

      – Carly Fiorina on abortion

    • tillacum says:

C because it disrupts the most import “government” we have. Mom and Dad, Boss. Kids. the population learning rules and regulations to support them the rest of their lives.
