    Ding Ding…it is time…..for GASPing

My choice is narrowed down to anyone who has the kahonies to reverse the last eight years.

    Ted Cruz.

Second place is Walker…then maybe Rubio

    • lysie says:

GASP! My choices, too. Although, not to keen on Rubio.

If I have to follow a recipe to make cookies, cake, bread, etc. why the heck can’t politicians follow the recipe of the land? The Constitution.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      GASP!

I like….Rick Perry…because he is “cool” in a distinctive Western way. He is from Texas -like me – and speaks with a certain twang. He is tall, dark and handsome. He also has a wonderful personal story…rising from very modest means. 😉

My second choice is Scott Walker.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Did I sound like a 0 supporter, circa 2008??

    • The Raven says:

So our X’s in the box are all from Texas

    • lysie says:

Love that video , Rav. Most of those singers we have seen in concerts. What fun…especially George Strait. and Vince Gill.

  2. tillacum says:

Just heard the house voted 300 to 121 to remove country of origin on food stuffs….Beef for one. I do not like that. We need to know where our “food” is coming from and what’s in it.

  3. The Raven says:

OK..after reading Krauthammer’s racing form…….it is now time for the first Golden ATRW STRAW POLL (GASP !)

    Instructions:

Carefully consider who you want leading our country and be prepared to cast your vote later this afternoon. For extra points, give a short paragraph on the reason and your runner-up choice,

Although this is the first GASP, sometime in the future, we will have the last GASP.

    In the mean time,

    T G I F

    Good morning everyone.

10 facts about John Wayne. Fun and so interesting.

  6. Molly Pitcher says:

We just had quite a bit of thunder-y noise…..and a little rain. Heh…

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

      Early today !!!

    • lysie says:

We had severe storms last night. I was up to see if there was any outside damage. None.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning. All week long…storms predicted….none materialize. We have had 2 brief showers tho….2 days ago it was. The water bill is not going to be pretty

    • lysie says:

I was watching the radar last night and was hoping the patches of green hit your area. It was a very small band.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yep it was….and the accu weather site has been wrong, wrong several times….Rain starts in 119 minutes. Rain starts in 64 minutes…Rain starts in 80 minutes….Nope. Have never seen it this “off” target

    • lysie says:

Yes. You are correct. Forecasts are not 100%. Good for perhaps a warning, but after that they tend to fizzle.

My friends, please say encouraging prayers for Sarah. She has a job interview at a vet hospital today at 11 a.m. Thanks

    • Molly Pitcher says:

May that interview go well lysie! I know Sarah is ready to work ,and will be a super tech in her field of veterinary med.!

Raven Thanks for that update….it did sound plausible, tho, right?

Oh dear….across “the wire” this a.m….news of distress in extended family…young cousin. Hard to read, Off to regular eye appt. soon, so back later.

    • lysie says:

      Thanks Molly.

      Prayers for your family.

  8. lysie says:

Rubio’s campaign says that it has raised $100,000 after The New York Times reports of his driving record and personal finances. Ha!

  9. The Raven says:

The most transparent President in history has immigration buried in the trade bill. It is really time to find out what in the *&%$$&**@ is going on with both Pubs and criminals

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Oh goody! Breakfast!

I am listening to some story via Bennett about some Lib/Progressive having his eyes opened due to the 0Care Effect….remember the President saying yesterday that no one could possibly be unhappy with his signature program? Well, there are a few and they are not just on the right….

    • lysie says:

      Good morning Molly and Rav.

It’s been raining “cats and dogs” here.

Yesterday we took Sarah to some area vets to drop off some resumes. Wow! While going home on Rte 690 cars and trucks were pulling over with flashers on because of the rain-out. Scary when tractor trailers are going 65 mph and the driver can’t see.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh my those are very dangerous situations….we had a couple of brief showers yesterday. That is all…so today…more watering….

    • Molly Pitcher says:

ED That is a cool story about the farm in MD…Good for that family…Do you remember which county? Maryland is just gorgeous….I love it and try to forget about how lib the area between DC and Baltimore is….

    • edinva says:

Molly, believe it or not, it’s Montgomery County, just past Potomac, an trafficless hour’s drive from DC, and yet lightyears away. Here’s a link to their website: http://www.homestead-farm.net/ Unfortunately, we didn’t know the tart cherries were in bloom until we’d come in from being in the sun picking strawberries, and were sapped of energy. The tart cherry season is so short, it’ll be over before the weekend. But they are absolutely fantastic and taste as good as they look in the picture posted this morning on the home page.

  15. lysie says:

Thanks for the week’s start, Molly,

    Good morning everyone.

  16. The Raven says:

The NY Times going after Rubio for traffic tickets (and earlier the water bottle?) is a head shaker. I suppose they are saying… ” …. if we go into this detail on Rubio….then Hillary must be clean….we can’t find anything on her. ”
But alas, there is plenty to find on her, NY Times. And she needs to be locked up. You can do it NY Times. You can do it.

  17. edinva says:

Those escapees could be anywhere by now. Pretty brilliant scheme and they clearly had some inside and outside help. I fantasize that their partner(s) built a ‘bomb shelter’ type place under a house very near the prison where they can hang out for a few weeks or months, then when everyone stops paying attention, just go wherever they want. I also fantasize that they’re hiding out in Gracie Mansion.

More big decisions coming down from SCOTUS, tho I’m sure they’ll save the most controversial for last, i.e., ‘gay marriage,’ and the Obamacare/state exchanges cases. Wish I felt more optimistic.

Hope y’all are well. I will have a fairly busy week ahead and leave Saturday for my annual NY/NJ trip, this year a month early to accommodate my friend who’s traveling in from Spain. Hope to get in here, but life/work have a habit of interfering. Seven of my h.s. buddies, our ‘core group,’ will be congregating at Beach Haven NJ for a ‘girls week’ to celebrate our collective 70th. We all still think we’re 15. Oh, well. At least we don’t think we’re 15 so much as to try wearing bikinis. So there’s that.

AND, come 11/1 or thereabouts I will have a grandDAUGHTER. My Molly found out Friday her baby will be a girl. Just too excited!!!

    • lysie says:

      Good morning , ed.

It’s very hard nowadays to be optimistic. I pray the SCOTUS decisions are based on law and not feelings.

Congratulations. Now you have several months to buy cute little girl clothes.

Have a great time with your friends.

    • edinva says:

      Thanks, lysie

Today I went with a friend out to a pick-your-own strawberries place in what’s left of rural Maryland within commuting distance of DC. I swear the berries were ripening on the ride home, so I had to eat some, of course. Oh, they are so good. Made some jam to bring out on a nasty winter day.

Interesting thing about the farm .. it’s a couple hundred acres remaining from the original settler in the mid 1700’s and still owned/farmed by one of his descendants, however many generations later. The present owner is my DH’s 2nd cousin. I’m really thankful that there’s been one person at least thru all those years who’s maintained interest in and love of farming.

So far tonight we’ve dodged a tornado watch. Only severe thunderstorms to worry about. Hopefully, the tornado doesn’t materialize anywhere.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh nice ED…very nice…granddaughters are sugar sweet.
Enjoy your time with your old friends, and as always, thanks for taking us along! In a manner of speaking….

    • Prairie says:

Congratulations on that new grandgirl, ED.

    • tillacum says:

You are a busy lady. Have a great time with your friends. Oh, and think of all the cute
girls things for your new granddaughter. What fun.
