America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- July 13, 2015 – July 17, 2015 Remember 9/11

Will a “time out” be the path Greece and the EuroZone take to solve Greece’s fiscal problems and Europe’s authority? And will it be enough? It’s a scheme as yet untried.

Also this week, we are told an Iran deal is imminent…perhaps announced Monday. Who among both parties will be the ones to call the agreement what it is: a form of Russian roulette with our future? What kind of leaders must Obama and Kerry be to promote and agree to such a thing?

  1. The Raven says:

[up early to get the smoker going]

    Morning quote:

“… the reason it’s so frequently quoted is because it’s so damn true.”

Arthur Laffer on the Reagan quote:”…Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem..”

  2. The Raven says:

Who’s better? Argerich or Van CLiburn ????

    • The Raven says:

      Democrats in the News:

Secret Science – EPA wants to continue to hide data, Obama will veto any Republican bills to force transparency. That means the ‘Pubs are on to something.

    • lysie says:

I’ve always liked Erich Clapburnton. 😉

Seriously, it’s Van Cliburn for me, too.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Cool! Hard choice…but since I was a girl in TEXAS when Van Cliburn won the competition, I will have to choose that….for the memories of a proud time!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Wow, what delicious food! Yuuuuuummy

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh all right ,I love them both. I think Agerich and the orchestra are having more of a “conversation”, which is what is supposed to happen in this case, but I will listen to the Van Cliburn again. It is a good listening exercise, that’s for sure.

    • lysie says:

Another thought, I remember seeing Van Cliburn on The Ed Sullivan Show.

    • The Raven says:

Everybody usually picks Argerich for technical prowess, but I think Van Cliburn plays it the way I think it should be played. He blends in with the orchestra and Argerich puts the spotlight on herself.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, Ed Sullivan. I do remember that too.

Raven… You are right about her technical ability. It is something! She sure took her time getting that piano bench adjusted juuuust right…

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I haven’t had a baked potato for ages, Oh my, does that look good!

      Good morning dear lysie

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Molly.

I could do that. Hollow out most of the potato and put ham and cheese scrambled egg in it. That way there would not many carbs.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s the way to do it yes!

Dang I have had problems all week putting the newest links at the bottom of the link section…oh well….maybe they should go at the top…hmmm…

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Check this out: Sending a message from our dear leader to….

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quiz:

What’s the next to go on the liberal agenda?

      a) manners
      b) jail
      c) voting
      d) parents
      e) other

if you thought verification – it’s already gone

    • lysie says:

Gets worse and worse as he gets closer to leaving.

Since he went to a prison to speak and let some prisoners go I’ll say B and E.

    • lysie says:

Hey Rav. We are thinking about the flea collar you wrote about. Still, like it?

    • The Raven says:

Yes…Seresto is good. Our vet also recommends it

    • lysie says:

No side effects? I’ve read a few reviews, mostly good, but some say their dogs get a rash around the neck.

    • tillacum says:

Hmmm, never thought to serve a filled baked potato for breakfast. Good idea. Thank you for another breakfast idea.
Darn, I missed our morning golf game. Oh well, there’s tomorrow.
      Have a wonderful Friday party.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome, till.

    • The Raven says:

No rashes……Dogs in Democrat families get rashes on their necks – you shall be fine..

    • The Raven says:

Last night we had all four grandkids plus mom’s in a sleepover. Every sq foot of floorspace had stuff scattered about. Every kid had an iPad app going. We finally got everybody outside in the pool and later made a fire and toasted marshmallows. They eventually got sleepy and konked out.

I earlier bought every breakfast item I could find (sausage, bacon, juice, fruit, etc) and they would have none of that and wanted dry cereal this morning. So I have lots of leftovers for your breakfast tomorrow, Lysie.

They all just left (went shopping) and it is just me and the dogs. Very quiet. I think I will listen to the CD I just bought. Tomorrow, I volunteered to smoke a brisket and we are having an all day picnic so it starts again. Monday I go fishing with a friend from work. Yes!!!

    • lysie says:

Thanks for the answer about the collar. LOL We will give it a try the first of the month.

Large breakfast for tomorrow supplied by you, Rav. Thanks.

      Hope the CD is enjoyable.

  4. The Raven says:

Speaking of terror attacks…Wisconsin’s supreme court ruled against the prosecutors.

    Quote from the judge:

The special prosecutor has disregarded the vital principle that in our nation and our state political speech is a fundamental right and is afforded the highest level of protection. The special prosecutor’s theories, rather than ‘assur[ing] [the] unfettered interchange of ideas for the bringing about of political and social changes desired by the people’ . . . instead would assure that such political speech will be investigated with paramilitary-style home invasions conducted in the pre-dawn hours and then prosecuted and punished.

I’m not sure which was worse – Obama using the IRS to attack Republicans or the Wisconsin Prosecutors….coupled with voter fraud…..the Dems are below contempt. We cannot forget.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

A terror attack in Chattanooga ? Still much to learn, but FBI into it very quickly, using certain language unambiguously per Catherine Herridge, Fox News

    • The Raven says:

You are premature, Molly P. The name of the shooter is Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez – so it will not be terrorism. Plus it was in a GUN FREE ZONE – and the video did it.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ha! Workplace violence then? No it was remarkable how fast the Feds were on to this, and what was released about the ISIS tweet….it can’t be denied…increased security acoss the board… They are worried about more attacks.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I just love the Shriners hospital ads on Fox so often these days….love, love them. They are an antidote to all the very, very bad stuff going on. What a boost they give me. “Love is…..”

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

OK! How you doing? Thanks for the breakfast lysie

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Molly. Doing well, thanks.

As far as I know dad is back at the assisted living home. So far no events.

    • lysie says:

      Yikes. It’s 47 degrees outside.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Some good news and hoping for your Dad’s cooperation and peace and rest for you.

I have some daylilies outside my window here. They are a wonderful peach color, and just keep going and going! I want to plant some more!

    • The Raven says:

So. O says “99% of the world community” agrees with him on the Iran deal. It is quite strange that the majority of the comments I have heard are in the 1%.

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

“… the spectacle of the Administration attempting to crush the conscience of a religious order is a lasting discredit to the U.S. traditions of pluralism and tolerance.”

      – WSJ ed. on the Tenth Circuit ruling on The Little Sisters of the Poor

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, on your comment Raven and the quote. The administration is harder on the Little Sisters than he is on Iran…there is something very out-of-whack here.

  7. The Raven says:

    Democrats in the news:

NASA staff reacting to Obama’s Iran Deal….. The Pluto probe contact

  8. lysie says:

Rav, I’ll be voting again in less than 40 minutes.

I’ll be asking Greg to do the same. Maybe Sarah, too.

  9. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  10. lysie says:

    2015 All Star game tonight.

  11. The Raven says:

    Help needed.

I entered a photo contest. It’s at an RV park in Florida and the prize is 2 free nights !! Hah. Should be a snap for a retired amateur photographer, eh? Well, turns out people have to vote for it. (I thought the owners would pick one)……

So I thought I’d recruit any of you who want to help out. First you go here and then you vote for the best picture. Hint…it is on the third tab and has the name dlaslo on it. It is titled “Carrabelle Beach”

Note you have to type in your email for the vote to count and then they send the confirmation to your email with a link to click

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

    16 reasons it’s a catastrophe…a dangerous debacle

Ok, all sorts of weather warnings going off the last 1/2 hour

    • The Raven says:

It’s a deal worse than even we imagined possible. It’s a deal that gives the Iranian regime $140b in return for … effectively nothing: no dismantlement of Iran’s nuclear program, no anytime/anywhere inspections, no curbs on Iran’s ballistic missile program, no maintenance of the arms embargo, no halt to Iran’s sponsorship of terror.

      W Kristol

  13. lysie says:

The VA has ruled that dad is competent. They released him to go wherever he pleases because he told them he will not go to the assisted living place. I’m sure where he pleases will be the VFW for several drinks. After that where?

    After making threats….this not right.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Doesn’t sound like he’s making the right choices, no.. If the VA calls him competent, and he wants to make his own choices, what’s left for you and your brother?

    • lysie says:

This has been going on for years. I don’t know for sure. What I do know is my brother and sil should not let him back. I think we must , as hard as it, let him choose the path he wants and let it go. Especially , since the VA states he competent.

    • lysie says:

Heartless some may think, but if they knew my dad…….:-(

      He needs professional help.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I was hoping that would be your conclusion. It’s not heartless, but perhaps the only way that would finally bring about a change…

    • lysie says:

Honestly, there is no other choice.

    • lysie says:

I asked to resign as POA and health are proxy, also.

    • lysie says:

Dad’s so called friends have always been much….much more important to him than his family. Let them take care of him.

      Sorry. Letting off steam.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I think it’s more than just “steam”…. you are taking hard, necessary action. This hasn’t happened over night or even thru a few months. It’s been a long process, and sounds like you have reached the end of your role in it. ((((lysie))))

  14. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  15. lysie says:

Ugh! Horrible day here today. Dad was put in an assisted living facility last week. He acted up and the place called the police. He was then taken to the VA. for evaluation. After at the VA they sent him back to the facility. I pray he behaves. This is too much stress for my brother, sil and us.

  16. The Raven says:

Breaking: Gov. Scott Walker today confirmed that he’s seeking the Republican nomination
Funny: Trump Flip Flops (I wonder why they didn’t include his immigration flip flop)
    Good & necessary: Lysie’s back, Lysie’s back
Interesting: These people want to teach conservatives how to make a better web site and blog better.

  17. Molly Pitcher says:

    • lysie says:

It’s going to be a hot one today. The air conditioners will be running soon.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Dang, send some here! I will double check, but don’t think it’s going to be all that warm.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

ok, to be clear at my end….85 here, and that is warm, yes, but you wrote “hot”, and that to me is over 90, so, hence my reply and I repeat: send some here, because I am missing the heat! LOL! ( I know….that is too hot for most people….)

  18. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
