America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- October 5, 2015 – October 9, 2015 Remember 9/11

Hello!

The first Monday in October has arrived, and that means the USSC begins its new
year’s session. It seems like the decisions were just being handed down from last year. But that was June, and the beginning of summer.

Terrible rains and flooding continue to threaten the East Coast….particularly, so far, S. Carolina.

And is it a good thing or a bad thing that Jason Chaffetz will challenge McCarthy for the House Speakership?

FYI, several times today when trying to connect here… there has been an error message. It might be just my internet. Don’t know for sure.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

TGIF….haven’t followed the news this p.m. , so I don’t know if the Rs are still headed for DISASTER as the MSM would have us believe…

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  3. The Raven says:

Well, AT&T came and I got a “none of the above” response from him. Just as I suspected, they don’t have fiber optic cable at our house. But, what they do have is fiber optic at the main street. They then use existing copper in the phone lines for the last mile. It works !! Not as fast as fiber but fast enough for netflix, etc. Happy camper here 🙂

Now I have to spend a good day or so changing my email everywhere.

On another subject, with all the hate spewing from the left, I suppose it is OK now to highlight how dumb Obama is.

    Yep…ol’ Mr. 58 States

    Morning Quotes:

For the first time in American history, we have a man in the White House who consciously and brazenly disregards his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution. That’s why I say the greatest threat to our Constitution, our safety and our liberties, is internal. Our president is an enemy of our Constitution, and, as such, he is a danger to our safety, our security and our personal freedoms.
    – Wash. Times’ Tom Tancredo, July 2010

Obama says he’s not a Bolshevik, and he says he’s not an ideologue. That leaves one other possibility, he’s an idiot, a full-fledged idiot..
    -Rush Limbaugh, Feb 4, 2010

The most popular headline at the Real Clear Politics Web site the other day was: “Is Obama Becoming A Joke?” With brilliant comedic timing, the very next morning the Norwegians gave him the Nobel Peace Prize.
    -Mark Steyn

    • lysie says:

      Great news about your internet.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

AT & T keeps bugging us…it is so hard to make the comparison between what we have now, and what they promise…we do pay too much for our cable contract, and it’s no longer as justifiable as once it was.

At some point before the end of the year, I have promised my husband that I would establish a gmail account, and therefore disconnect from my cable email. He says that’s a start in the right direction, and he mostly uses his still maintained old work email add. He is able to do that, you see., even in retirement.

    • The Raven says:

We are paying $100 less per month now

      Morning quote:

These shootings are a symptom of deep and serious cultural decay in our society,” he explains. “These acts of evil are a direct result of cultural rot, and it is cultural rot that we have brought upon ourselves, and then we act like we are confounded and perplexed by what is happening here.”
“We devalue human life, we have no regard for the sanctity of human life in any regard, from the unborn, to the old, and to every single person in between, we devalue it and act as if we have almost no regard for humanity,”
“Meanwhile, the shallow and simple minded liberals will continue to blame pieces of hardware for the problem, and they will long for the days before firearms were invented, but the simple truth is, as long as we place no value on human life, as long as we glorify senseless violence and evil, we will get the exact same result.”

      Bobby Jindal

    Morning quote:

One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results. We all know a famous road that is paved with good intentions. The people who go around talking about their soft heart . . . I admire them for the softness of their heart, but unfortunately it very often extends to their head as well. Because the fact is that the programs that are labeled as being for the poor, for the needy, almost always have effects exactly the opposite of those which their well-intentioned sponsors intend them to have. . . .

    – Milton Friedman (from today’s WSJ’s Notable and Quotable)

  8. The Raven says:

I went fishing today and opened a bag of shad bait fishing lures and the smell is really bad and I have washed my hands a hundred times and it is still there. Argh. But onto another story.

We are out in the boonies and have satellite TV and internet. The TV is OK, but the internet is a problem because it is like mobile phone data and is limited in monthly usage amounts and very expensive. So last year, AT&T was going down our nearby main road burying fiber optic cable for their UVerse internet and I thought hallelujah !! But, they stopped about a quarter mile from us and I pleaded for mercy and they said tough luck…we ain’t coming in that far.

We have AT&T land line and I was talking to them on another matter and the guy says…hey, we can give you high speed internet at your address……and I told him that was not in the cards…..the fiber optic cable stopped down the road. He said I was wrong and they are coming Thursday to install it. I will be sooooo happy but I’ll believe it when I see it. They also can bundle land line, TV, cable and cell phones for about $180/month less than what we pay now and of course that data usage limit goes away and we can watch movies again.

So….today’s quiz is. The AT&T technician, on Thursday will.

    1) Call and say the salesman was wrong and they can’t install the internet or phone.
    2) Ring the doorbell and after calling a bunch of people in the office, will say the salesman was wrong and they can’t install the internet or the phone
    3) AT&T will install high speed fiber optic cable and phone service. I will tell him my neighbors all want it as well.
    4) They will tell me the service is not high speed but rather slow DSL over the landline and I will shoo him away after rubbing shad bait fish on his nose.

  10. lysie says:

Molly, your link re: Beta male.

That reminds me of one of my gripes. In a movie or TV show a man assaults a women. Another man steps in to save her. The two men fight. It looks like the good guy may lose the fight. Meanwhile, the woman is screaming while a nearby object…chair….log…knife…whatever…. is within inches of her. Rather than clobber the bad guy….she chooses to scream. Ack, ack, ack! Get a clue woman.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      LOL…I do understand your point!

Good morning…a slow start here..our last day before heading home tomorrow..

Saw that business about C.C…..just too bad…

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  12. lysie says:

Molly, from what I have been reading , Chaffetz is a little better than McCarthy. Daniel Webster has put his hat in for the Speaker, too. He is more conservative than the other two .

  13. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start, Molly.
