Good morning. In between keeping an eye on the baseball game last night, I watched the interview with Charles Koch with Megyn Kelly. Oh golly, that guy is a real devil, just like Harry Reid warned us /Huge SARC

    • The Raven says:

      I missed that Koch interview…shucks.
Early in my career I had an interview scheduled at Koch Industries in Wichita with their Director of R&D. He cancelled at the last minute. I later found out he was interviewing at my current company to be my boss! on that same day he cancelled!! Amazing!. Anyway, I dropped the idea for changing jobs and never did meet any of the Kochs.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What an odd thing to have happened! Well, Koch went to some length to describe his company’s ethics, which is first and foremost in their business plan. Your interview might have included a trip to the company cafeteria to see how you treat the staff there, for example. Also…how you respond to a question about failure. If you said you had never failed at any project, etc. Well, that would nix your chances.
I didn’t realize: he is 79…not young or even older middle-aged, but still active, that’s true.

Watching the Mets/Dodgers game. I am not a fan of long hair on pitchers or any other player, for that matter.

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  9. Molly Pitcher says:

So…..anyone anticipating the Dem debate tomorrow night? And on CNN? About as unpleasant as a root canal, I know, I know…….

    • lysie says:

Not me. No interest at all..!!

    • The Raven says:

Here’s my question to the candidates:

In a recent book, Dennis Ross’s view on the Middle East is Obama and Clinton fell for the oldest preconceptions about the Middle East, views that the State Department had been putting forward since 1948. There were principally three: “the need to distance from Israel to gain Arab responsiveness, concern about the high costs of cooperating with the Israelis, and the belief that resolving the Palestinian problem is the key to improving the U.S. position in the region.”
In his book, Mr. Ross documents how these arguments affected policy over decades and failed to predict Arab behavior—yet were very rarely challenged. The reason they failed is simple, he says: “the hard truth is that the Palestinians are not a priority for Arab leaders. . . . The priorities of Arab leaders revolve around survival and security”—not Israeli-Palestinian relations or U.S. policy toward Israel.

Do you agree with his assessment or will you continue with failed policies?

      And a followup

If Obama/Clinton knew from the start that your policy was to remove troops and allow radicals to retake Iraq and effectively make matters worse, why didn’t you tell this to the American people?

    • lysie says:

Good questions, Rav. I get the feeling they would start to answer it , but sidestep by mentioning climate change.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Did you hear that Cong. Ellison from MN, has endorsed Sanders? Is he the leading edge of the Black vote who will suddenly find the white guy from VT’s message attractive? And will Sanders make the pitch for that vote?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Raven, everyone did you see this? The economic fantasies of Robert Reich…a name from the past…

    • edinva says:

(the D’s are ticked that The Donald said no one will watch because he’s not in it … while they are saving a podium for Uncle Joe should he decide to enter the fray)

    • The Raven says:

I saw the title of the Reich article and smiled because all is revealed in the title so I didn’t read it.

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

Hitler got it mostly wrong, Stalin, somewhat right, and Mao, with his “Great Leap Forward,” warmer still. Marx and Engels were red-hot-close, but, they, too, missed the mark, if only by an inch. Today’s hipper, gentler, more progressivish progressives are confident that, if we’d only give them another shot, they’d finally get right what the others got wrong.

    – Matt Barber – Townhall – An Interview with the ‘Progressive’ Mind

  12. The Raven says:

Well, there’s a new gun challenge coming. … You know, with all the violence occurring in gun free zones, if this was an issue on the left, they would be suing everyone and his brother to allow guns everywhere so citizens could protect themselves. I heard yesterday on Bower and Rose that Israel is considering a law that if you have a permit to carry, you must carry. At all times.

AND, I have serious misgivings with the right’s push to attach mental illness screening to gun control. The left will simply find mental illness in every gun buyer.
