America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- October 26, 2015 – October 30, 2015 Remember 9/11

Hello!

Will the real Bernie please stand up? That’s what Hillary is probably wondering after Sanders’ forceful attack on her this weekend at an Iowa Dem party dinner. Plus, he went after Bill, who had also made himself a convenient target on the Iowa caucus scene.

It was just a few days ago on the CNN debate stage when Bernie raced to her rescue over those silly old emails and made her giggle in response: what a sweet pair they were.

We will pause here and think of her response after that dinner attack….. Probably something other than a laugh.

  1. The Raven says:

TGIF …. on the road now.!..bbl

  2. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Breakfast with Zoe. 🙂

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      That’s cute!

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Molly. With all the wind we have been having lately the trees are almost bare.

    • lysie says:

Hahahaha! It’s called a doorknob ladies.

    • edinva says:

My little angel! Thanks, lysie… tonight we dine with Miss Zoe. Life is good!
AND my ancient Volvo actually passed VA Safety Inspection this morning. I was sure it’d fail, so am much relieved. Whew!

Don’t know if it’s made national news yet, or if it will, but our local high school had a chemistry experiment go horribly wrong this morning. 5 students and 1 teacher injured, 2 students flown with life-threatening injuries to the trauma/burn center in DC. I would ask you to send out a prayer for those students and their families. It’s a somewhat tight-knit community for a DC suburb, so everyone will be affected. The teacher’s injuries were not sufficient to send him/her to the hospital, but I imagine s/he will be traumatized for life (as will all the students).

    • lysie says:

Have fun with the sweet one, ed.

Prayers for the student and teacher.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi ED I JUST heard about this chemical fire on the radio news. Terrible. Prayers for all involved…
Guess we can all rest easy now that di Blasio has endorsed Hillary! And truly glad that the RNC has cancelled plans for that Feb. NBC debate. Well, duh!

    • edinva says:

wow, lysie, hadn’t heard that Hillary won the diBlasio endorsement. Maybe she’ll carry NYC now? Always a possibility. Actually, I have a “true blue” friend who lives in Manhattan, and said she’d vote for a Republican for mayor next time if diBlasio is the D candidate.

Haven’t heard any more about the chem explosion at our old school. They were @ 2 hours short of leaving for a 4 day weekend. Our schools are used for election polling places, and this election weekend is always a 4-day school holiday, when elementary teachers meet on Mondays/Tuesdays with parents, middle and high teachers prepare qtr report cards, etc.

  3. The Raven says:

    Morning quote 1:

The Chinese Communist Party’s decision Thursday to end its one-child policy is a landmark that ends one of the worst government intrusions on human freedom in world history.

    – WSJ ed. today

    Morning quote 2:

They know the world has gone to hell, and they want a nominee who can explain how bad it is and who can articulate how conservative policies will fix it.

    – Kimberley Strassel, WSJ on what the Republican voters are looking for.

    Morning quote 3:

How strange it must be for people who comfort themselves with the slander that the GOP is a cult of organized racial hatred that the most popular politician among conservatives is a black man. Better to ignore the elephant in the room than account for such an inconvenient fact. The race card is just too valuable politically and psychologically for liberals who need to believe that their political opponents are evil.

    – Jonah Goldberg.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

    Evenin’ everyone…
A useful train wreck. Making lemonade from a lemon. I’m not giving credit to the awful moderators, but the Rs on the stage handled themselves pretty darn well, with a couple of exceptions whose names begin with K and B.

  5. edinva says:

I doubt I’m posting at the right spot, but this is something worth reading: Our VA gov told a state senator to “man up” after the senator complained to authorities about death threats from the father of the TV reporter who was killed by a madman on live tv (I think that was back in Aug). This manly man (in his mind) governor of ours would take away the gun of law abiding citizens, and go on about mental illness when a shooting actually takes place, but when someone complains about direct threats, he mocks and belittles them? What a piece of work our gov is! Maybe this big, brave man will dispense with his own (state funded) security detail, to prove his manliness?

    • lysie says:

Yes, ed. McAuliffe should travel with no security especially when going to inner cities. What a jerk he is for commenting.

    • tillacum says:

Mr McAwful if far superior than anyone with the exception of the Clintons who are as superior as he, so he and they are entitled to gun totin’ guards. Didn’t we know that?
It’s raining in central Texas, has been raining all night. It’s a nice rain though, a little heavier than a sprinkle. It’s nice, but I was planning to pick some mustard greens and pull some yellow squash. Oh well, there’s day after tomorrow, when we can scoop out the squash and use it for a boat, the mustard greens will still be good to pick. So all is not lost.
The cukes should be coming on too.

  6. lysie says:

Like it or not Paul Ryan is the new Speaker of the House.

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  8. The Raven says:

I missed the debate but heard about this.

…also Cruz has come out with an excellent economical plan. He has Arthur Laffler on board

Here’s an excellent summary of the CNBC moderators.

    Morning quote:

The Democrats have their own super PAC, it’s called the mainstream media.

    -Marco Rubio

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I just heard that clip from Cruz also. Apparently Luntz’s meter jumped the highest in audience response that Frank had ever measured! Cruz’s mind…shows how sharp he is, too…very, very…

    • mustknowhistory says:

I can remember the exact circumstances in which I stopped listening to CNN (late 1990’s), MSNBC (last Friday in October 2004), and CNBC (third week in September 2008). I am real close to dropping Fox News, preferring now Fox business.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Whoa! Your mind is pretty sharp, too! I like Fox Business, but don’t watch it regularly, & only watch Fox News carefully., very carefully. I still like the 5 p.m. show, but it has some terrible moments….like when Geraldo is on…

    • lysie says:

We watched both the debate and World Series.

Sometimes I wonder why the candidates go on the news stations. Now I know why. To slap them down. 🙂

    • Molly Pitcher says:

The Royals look like they could play another whole summer of baseball, right now! Oh my goodness….And the Mets…they are tired, but….who knows? That’s baseball: anything can happen.

  9. lysie says:

Ryan is nominated for speaker with 45 Republican voting against him. That is enough to block him from getting the speakership when the floor votes tomorrow.

  10. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Feeling a bit better.

    • tillacum says:

OH YUM, my kind of breakfast w/bacon. Have you noticed bacon is now on the “killer” list?

    • lysie says:

      Good morning till and Molly.

We like bacon. Sarah LOVES it and I can honestly say….” Don’t mess with Sarah and her bacon”. 🙂

Molly, what ever I had hit me like a lead balloon and seems to have deflated like a regular one. I’m taking it easy until I feel much better.

The cough I had made me sore. That has lessened.. a lot.

I’ll be making chicken soup today, Rav. Perfect day for it.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning lysie and till Killer List….HA! I say…. Dems belong on that list. That sounds terrible, but they should certainly be on the Danger to Mankind List.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope you are doing better lysie The weather isn’t so great, so best to continue to take it easy…The wind here picked up a short time ago., plus bouts of heavy rain.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What I want to know is: why are the Rs having a debate in Boulder? Hmmmmm?

    • edinva says:

Glad to hear you’re feeling better, lysie. Thanks for the baconless/processed-meatless veggieful breakfast. Gotta love these people who make a living out of finding things normal people enjoy and trying to destroy it. Ugh.

Wonder how the GOP debate tonight will go? Heard that after the weekend summit, ole Jeb’s gonna come out firing with both barrels. Carson will be a huge target. And, of course, The Donald will steal the show. Time for *some* to call it a day and just close down their campaign, but I think maybe it’s all they have in life? Oh, well, not my call.

We have local/state elections this year. Does anyone else? We have elections every year and it’s frankly tiring. Especially for partisan volunteers. There’s just no break. The GOP in Fairfax County where I live used to be quite vibrant but is now moribund. Lots of libs have moved into the area just overwhelming the older crowd, and, as they are wont to do, are changing it rapidly into the hellholes they moved FROM. DH and I opted out of being election officials this year, lest we be locked in the polling station as our dear granddaughter was being born. Alas, she came early, so that’s no longer an issue, but I’m glad we don’t have to get up at 4am to go work the polls till 9pm.

Rainy/dreary here today. Supposed to be nice tomorrow. We still have a lot of colorful leaves, but maybe after a day of rain they’ll be gone. Monday may have been the peak of the Fall season, it was a beautiful day and every tree seemed just perfect. NOT looking forward to turning the clocks back Saturday night/Sunday morning. Y’all have a great day!

    • lysie says:

Thanks, ed. Did you see that pix I posted? What a loving family. 🙂

    • edinva says:

couldn’t find the pix, lysie … I’m still a complete cyber illiterate.
Been having the BEST time with little Miss Zoe. And, as a newborn, she does nothing but sleep, occasionally wakes enough to cry, and puts her fingers/hand in her mouth. End of routine! All babies are such miracles.

    • lysie says:

OK , ed. I’ll post it tomorrow morning. We will have breakfast with Zoe. 🙂

    • edinva says:

nice start to the day, at least for me, lysie!

    • tillacum says:

After your chicken soup and lots of rest, be sure while watching the “debate” (question and answer session) be sure your drink is hot, like hot mulled red wine to keep your cough in check, and make you happy watching the twitchaticians bolstering their answers. We’ll also see if Jeb will do as Mommy and Daddy told him to do during the session, like not standing on his tippy toes during the picture taking.

    • lysie says:

Thanks for all those tips, till.

All I want from a candidate is what is best for the USA and the truth. No mincing of words.

  11. Molly Pitcher says:

Afternoon everyone….a House committee has begun impeachment proceedings against IRS chief Koskinen…uphill battle probably…no consequences for this administration’s lawlessness.

    • tillacum says:

Good Morning Molly and lysie. Aw shucks…why would he be on the impeachment hit list?
He just said what he was told to say and look Mssss. Lernor was given a pass, so why isn’t he given one?

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

      Mornin’
Yesterday was “Senior’s Day” at the movies and we saw Bridge of Spies. Really good (although I was initially suspicious when the opening day libs gave it a standing ovation) — it was a Hollywood film and portrayed the Soviets correctly and didn’t blame everything on us. It was truthful and thus didn’t have liberal make-believe history.
      Acting was superb.

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

“One more liberal justice and our right to keep and bear arms is taken away from us by an activist court. One more liberal justice and they begin sandblasting and bulldozing veterans’ memorials throughout this country. One more liberal justice and we lose our sovereignty to the United Nations and the World Court.”

      Ted Cruz

    • The Raven says:

I have coined a new term.

Illegal citizen – Def: One who votes for Democrats (does not respect laws or the Constitution).

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Another fantastic breakfast lysie, and Raven, you are on an early a.m. roll, with your review, quote, and new term.

Thank goodness baseball returns tonight for a few more games til next spring.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Raven are you by any chance listening to Bennett? (coincides with your definition) He is interviewing Amity Shlaes, and they are agreeing that the past century, has been an assault by libs on the limiting government principles of the Constitution. 0 has taken this engine into hyper drive they emphasize.

    • lysie says:

I’m sick. I went to bed Sunday feeling a little off and coughing a bit. Yesterday? Yikes! Today is a wait and see. I’m going back to bed. We have tickets to see tonight’s Maverick’s show in Vernon, NY. Must get better or give my ticket away. 😦

    • Molly Pitcher says:

So sorry about your being sick! Take it easy, drink lots of good liquids. Gentle, long distance hugs….

    • The Raven says:

Molly….I don’t listen to Bennett….keep forgetting to put him on. Next week I’m moving the computer to a room where I can close the door and not disturb the better half (my mother is moving to an assisted living facility down the road and will free up her room here) – so I’ll try again.

      Get well soon, Lysie.
      Have some chicken soup.

BTW— speaking of food…..the World Health Red Meat scare just came to mind. I bet this is a political move since they are hell bent on reducing cattle populations for global warming reasons (cow flatulence). What do you think?

  13. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
