  1. The Raven says:

I’m beginning to think the reason Obama is incompetent is because of Global Warming

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

      Good Sunday morning to you.

      Morning Quote:

Leftists like Sanders and Obama are at sea any time their favorite narrative does not apply, i.e., the U.S. can’t be painted as the villain.

      John Hinderaker, Powerline

    • lysie says:

Good Sunday morning to you, too, Rav.

I didn’t watch the debate last night. The leftist are programmed like robots. No emotion (other than anger) no thoughtfulness, nothing but programmed words and ideas.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I think it was Ed Henry who reported on the strange, strained pre-Dem Debate strategy phone call. He was restrained in his details, so am enjoying the backstory via Powerline. Dem Derangement Syndrome?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

We had a good time Fri night with our senior church group. Some of the Vets spoke and told some hilarious stories about life in the Army/Navy/AF, but there were some poignant moments too and one of the guys just couldn’t say much about his Vietnam time.
Some men from a nearby American Legion post came and told us all about how the flag is folded, and what each fold represented. Most of us did not know any of that!

    • The Raven says:

When I was in Boy Scouts, we were taught how to fold a flag by someone in the Legion. I still remember how to do it (I think).

      Morning link:
Post’s Goodwin calls for O to resign or lead. Fat chance of either

The Dem’s favorite tactic is to blame their disasters on the Republicans. Everyone nods their heads when they blame the Iraq invasion on Bush and the Pubs. No one even thinks that what Obama did was not anything close to what a Republican (or a person chosen randomly from an urban high school) would do. No one remembers the state of affairs in Iraq when Bush left.

      Isis is not Bush’s fault.

    • edinva says:

When I went to GS camp, every night we had a ceremony to take down the flag, and fold it properly; some leader always told the story of what each fold meant. By the time we left camp, we sure knew it! If I worked at it, I could probably repeat it today, *several* years later. And they say rote teaching doesn’t work!

BTW, no word of any member of my son in law’s French family being anywhere near the slaughter zone on Friday. At least the French have begun their bombing the ISIS sites in Syria. Why the West hasn’t been doing that for a year is beyond me. What’s the world come to when the French fight and the American leaders wring their hands?

Let’s pray for a more peaceful week ahead.

    • The Raven says:

Last night we were at a neighbors and one of the ladies was a Dem (I think) hell bent on nuking the Middle East. She was also an Auburn grad and would randomly switch to the Panthers, Cam Newton, and the Georgia game (with swear words). Jem would have been proud. But if I would have taken a poll, I don’t think there was a far left wing sympathizer in the room (even though some Dems). Hopefully a trend but we are not a city here…we are in the boonies (our district was over 70% for Mitt – not too many libs here).

    • lysie says:

Molly, my grandfather raised, lowered and folded the flag each day at the local bank where he worked for over 40 years. Many people would bow their heads as they walked by. Gramp did it with much respect and honor. Sure do miss that gentleman.

Rav, there may be hope….I pray these roaders wake up.

    • tillacum says:

      OH YUM. Thank you lysie.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome, till.

Woohoo! The sun is shining. It looks like it will be a nice day.

    • The Raven says:

I’m gonna watch Johnny Football at 1PM

    • lysie says:

      Who does he play against?

    • lysie says:

Ack! Not looking good for Johnny Football’s team.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

yes…people rushed out of church today to watch that game.

  3. lysie says:

Jem, I just got around to reading your Hal Moore link on the week’s thread. What a wonderful man! Thank you for posting it.

  4. The Raven says:

T’was only 7 terrorists in Paris…did all that damage. Meanwhile Trump surged 17 points. Wow.

  5. lysie says:

    Thanks for the links, Molly.

  6. tillacum says:

Thank you Rave for the Horowitz article. I’ll read it later today.

  7. edinva says:

Not a happy morning. I noticed at Facebook pix of all these iconic landmarks around the globe that went blue/white/red for the French. Every place EXCEPT the White House that defiled itself last June by going all rainbow. What more need we know?

My daughter’s husband’s family are French or French-American Both parents came here after completing college, so they still have quite a few relatives back there, and in fact his brother/wife and child lived in Paris until a year ago. So far I haven’t heard of any of their relatives who might have been involved as victims in any of the attacks.

THE question of the day is: When will the West elect strong leaders? We’ve had wimps now for too long. When gay rights and climate change top of the US President’s agenda, the world is not safe. Period.

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

This article on David Horowitz (hat tip Powerline) is a long read but has some eye-opening accusations of the left. The current university student fiasco is more than likely orchestrated by Marxists. Here’s the money quote

The fifth essay in the book, “A Radical Holocaust,” examined how the post-Communist left had revived the Marxist paradigm applying it to sexual orientation, gender, and race. Horowitz calls this maneuver “kitsch Marxism” and in this chapter reveals how the left has revived the destructive force of the original paradigm as well.

Horowitz’s next book, Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes, published in 1999, quickly became the most controversial work the author had written. It addressed the new cultural dimensions of the radical cause, specifically the determination to make race function the way class had in the traditional Marxist paradigm. White males were demonized as an ersatz ruling class responsible for every social disparity between racial groups and genders. In the absence of actual racists in university admissions offices, for instance, the left created a myth—“institutional racism”—that was alleged to explain all disparities in academic test scores and university admissions. The creation of this myth was essential to keep alive “the discredited Marxist idea that an alien power separates the citizens of democratic societies into rulers and ruled, the dominant race and the races that are oppressed.” Behind the idea that all blacks are victims all the time, according to Horowitz, lies the desire to perpetuate the failed Marxist vision and the social war it justifies.

Fortunately, Horowitz offers strategies for Conservatives to counter these politics. It is not the way we are doing it.

Like Reagan and Milton Friedman, the now conservative Horowitz used to be on the left. However, Horowitz was on the FAR LEFT, a communist.
He is also the founder of the website guide to the left.

    • lysie says:

Excellent, Rav. I skimmed through the article and will go back to “digest” more after another cup of coffee.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

A disturbed good morning to you.
Now before we go too far….do not underestimate our capacity to over react and take revenge on our Muslim neighbors. Beware the backlash!! And, oh, don’t forget our terrible crimes during the Crusades almost 1000 years ago. /sarc
Really…are we finally going to wake up from our little honeymoon from reality ? I know we can’t depend on 0 or any of his crowd, and we’ve been screaming for 7 years about our country’s direction. So I am talking about the squishy middle, There is no running from absolute, on-going complete vigilance and devotion to national security

    • lysie says:

      Morning, Molly.

You are right about the squishy middle. Don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, don’tcha know!

Some lefties are blaming it all on right wing extremists. At least we know where they stand. Ignorant as it is.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well yesterday was defining, and yes Raven I was wondering about tonite’s debate also. But anyone who can’t face what happened yesterday, or wants to misname it, have to be pushed to the curb. We can’t afford such fantasies.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Horowitz is a serious man. Thanks for the link!. I had noticed it on Powerline, but not followed up on it

    • The Raven says:

Right wing extremists? That didn’t take long. I guess they don’t have an NRA over there. In Europe, a right winger is a non-lefty. A Nazi.

    • lysie says:

Well, I guess the right wing extremists hurt Issi’s poor wittle fwellings by calling them what they are…terrorists.

We must all sit in a corner with dunce hats on.

    • The Raven says:

John Fund asks the question: Will Democratic Candidates Condemn Islamic Terrorism Tonight? Maybe the cause was microagressions or a Halloween costume. Or a video?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

also….it wasn’t just 0 yesterday who spoke of ISIS being “contained”…Kerry, over in Europe, used much the same words. IOW, they were gloating in their own way about the death of Jihadi John, as if that was a huge deal . Sorry, it just wasn’t.
