America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- December 6 , 2015 – December 7, 2015 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

Our Viva Las Vegas trip.

It was a 2 flight trip to Vegas and 2 flight trip back home.

We arrived in Vegas at 11.39 Vegas time. We made a previous reservation for a car rental. We were informed that the car rentals were about 1 mile away from the airport and we were to board a shuttle to pick up the car. Okay.

After we picked up the car we were off to Caesar’s Palace to check in. Okay. Simple enough….not. Not wanting valet parking we looked for a spot to park. It was almost invisible. Ha! Greg decided to pull over near the hotel entrance and park. There were “no parking” signs, but since I was in the car while he went in and the car flashers were on…..we were not parking, BUT standing. (At least that’s the way it is in NY)

Great…were are registered and once again looking for parking. Finding the area would have been much easier if cabs, buses, people were not competing. LOL Wow! We expected congestion, but it was like going to the NYS Fair with freeways inside the fair. Yikes.

We found the parking area and followed the elevator signs. Great.

The elevator took us to the casino. Not wanting to do the slots until we dropped off our luggage in our room we searched for our room. Found out we had to walk through the casino to take another elevator to the room. Okay.

After unloading our luggage we headed back to the casino. Won some …lost it. Won some..lost it. Trust me not huge amounts. Perhaps, $20.00 total for all the days.

I watched on woman on the slots. When no attendant was near she hit the “bet ” button then tapped the other buttons very fast and won many, many times. If there was an attendant around she tapped the bet button once and lost. Hmmm. Made me think..it did.

The next night was The Reba, Brooks and Dunn concert. I would say there were close to 5,000 people at the Palace Coliseum and yet there was not much of a wait. Wow! What a show. The audience was very appreciative.
We went to the Hoover Dam, too. Outstanding site to see.

There are no Jack in the Boxes here. We had to try that. Also, we hit a few buffets. One was far too expensive for the quality.

All and all traveling rookies that we are…we had a nice time. We are happy we ventured out.

We went to the very moving Memorial Service for our old friend yesterday afternoon. One thing appealing thing about it, IMO, was the frank acknowledgement of the grief felt by the family, everyone. That was powerful, and not as common as it used to be at such services. Second, the pastor invited all who had sung with Vicki over the years to come forward to the chancel steps to sing her favorite Christmas hymn: In the Bleak Midwinter, which is one of my faves, also.

So about 40 of us did that…..hard to get thru. And finally. As the service ended a bagpiper moved solemnly up the aisle all decked out, playing, and then led the family back down the aisle and out. Oh my gosh. In between all this there were memories and stories, and laughter and tears.
Vicki, in death, engaged us, as she had in her too-short life.

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Caroline Glick is always so good. thanks for the link…pathological, indeed.

    • The Raven says:

Mr Zero is giving a speech tonight at 8PM on workplace violence.…he’s probably going to regulate guns through executive order. Whenever he screws up, he blames it on others. Those long dead founders couldn’t possibly predict the troubles he’d see so he’ll control guns and that will be that.

Isn’t it past due time to simply heckle the libs?

    • lysie says:

      Good morning Molly and Rav.

Y’all know where I think O can put his speech, don’t you.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

putting this more mildly than I actually think and feel: this speech scares the heck out of me….but looking at the bright side, it will surely generate some excellent, sharp writing & discussion and analysis from the right.
BTW, when there’s the talk of gun control the past days….what about the bombs those characters had produced? There was a lot more to their arsenal of death.

    • The Raven says:

Yeppers…the speech will go something like this:

      Ladies, trans, and Gentlemen
Let me get straight to the point. I am mandating gun education for every able bodied student over the age of 16. I expect the education to carry over to military service and concealed carry citizen soldiers.
I also am asking Congress to pass a law making it a felony for non-citizens to own weapons of any kind. We intend to have random searches of their homes depending on their last name.

Just dropping in. I enjoyed going to Las Vegas via your report, Lysie. It sounds like it was a delightful excursion. Of course, they have designed access to rooms, dinner areas, etc, via the casinos. More opportunities to spend, and lose, money. Kinda like grocery stores putting all that gum, candy, and magazines near cashiers.

      All is fine here.

      Good night.

    • lysie says:

      Hi, Jem.

Yes. You are correct, but being the practical person I am…it annoyed me to the point I didn’t want to do slots much. I showed them. Ha! 🙂

I guess I should have let my practical side at home.

  3. lysie says:

The ending of the concert. Not our video, but the same finale.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I’m hoping people still appreciate the words and message. Thank lysie

    • The Raven says:

      You did good Lysie !!!
When you travel as much as I did, all that stuff you mentioned gets lost in a fog. It’s part of the adventure.

    • lysie says:

Molly, I hope they do to. I pray they do. I searched that song and it was released in June 2001 prior to 9-11. Kix Brooks co-wrote the song.

      Thanks, Rav.

As we went from near to far I was thinking about you, Rav. I’m amazed how you did all that and remained sane or at least semi-sane. 😉 😉 😉

Most of our travel is by car on familiar roads….ie: NYS Thruway, PA turnpike, etc. That we know well.

      I give you a thumbs-up, Rav.

    Good morning everyone.
