America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- January 9, 2016 –January 10, 2016 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

Darn! Listeria is found again in a Blue Bell facility.

In the Rep. race it appears that Cruz and Trump are neck and neck.

Prayers for Taya Kyle who confronted Obama at his gun town hall. Her statement… “I want the hope that I have the right to protect myself. That I don’t end up to be one of these families, that I have the freedom to carry whatever weapon I feel I need.”

Early happy birthday wishes for my dad. Tomorrow he will be 90.

    Morning quiz:

    1) How many felonies has Hillary committed and gotten away with?

    a) None
    b) 1-5
    c) 6-10
    d) >10

    2) If Hillary was a Republican, she would have been in jail right now. (TRUE/FALSE)

Jemian … happiest of birthday wishes to you!

Good morning, lysie and all. I purposely avoided watching the Obama anti-gun townhall on Thursday. BP issues, you know. Was surprised to read that they allowed Taya Kyle and the other woman, who was able to defend herself with her gun against the rapist, were even allowed near the townhall. Was that a really bad snafu on Team O’s part, or did he and his people assume those women would come across as dumb, or as right wing gun fanatics, thereby making his case? How did they get in? We all know O can’t handle being challenged by opposing views of his own.

    • lysie says:

Hi ed If that was O’s strategy I’m very happy it was the opposite

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Wow, that is lovely Jemian.

ED lovely weather today in the Crescent City…the azaleas are blooming in front of a building down the block. The city makes me a little sad tho…crime is up…lots of young people from around the world have arrived to study, start entrepreneurial careers…the downturn in the energy industry is going to hurt, tho. Did you know there is a movement to remove Lee’s statue from lee’s circle?? So far, it ‘s been thwarted, but for how long?

    • edinva says:

Molly, unfortunately, crime is just a way of life in NOLA. My daughter went to Tulane and by the end of her 4 years, I was happy to see her move on. I LOVED the town with so much charm and joie de vivre, but there’s almost no escape or respite from the crime there. Every student in her small apt bldg had their car broken into, including her. The car was roughly her age!

I’d heard about the attempt to remove the General from Jackson Square and can’t imagine what will get that effort to succeed. No doubt the whole BLM/anti-confederate flag thing will die down sooner or later (to be replaced by something equally oppressive) and this will be forgotten, at least for a while.

Last year, both of our very good friends who we’d stay with in NOLA passed away, so not likely I’ll get back again. Maybe just go for a tourista visit, get some good eats, take in the sights. But that will be very sad for me.

In the meanwhile, enjoy those azaleas … they DO get an early Spring (and if you go to one of the outer ‘burbs, they should be having some of the early Mardi Gras parades. I believe they start on the Epiphany in those outer ‘burbs, then work their way into the city , getting bigger and grander every day till THE Mardi Gras.) Such fun!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks, ED…we have long family connections to the cit…..yes, there is that carefree attitude, and sad to say I was a crime victim here 40 years ago when we were living here. The river is at flood stage, and the old Huey p. Long bridge is still standing. You will appreciate that!

  4. lysie says:

    I repeat Molly’s post…”.Happy , happy birthday Jemian!!”

    • The Raven says:

      yodels and happy birthday youngster.

    • lysie says:

We are ALL young, Rav. How’s the vacation going?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, what’s going on in Florida?

    • The Raven says:

What’s going on in FL? Rain, rain, rain. And cooler. El Nino. Our RV has an outside electrical outlet and it is on GFI with the kitchen. When it rains, somehow the inside air-conditioning escapes past the outlet and forms condensation inside the outlet and trips the GFI and we can’t reset it until the weather improves. ARGH!! Takes out the coffee maker & the satellite TV – two essentials in retirement.
And to beat all, I purchased the winning lottery ticket and then the darn people in charge of that, picked the wrong numbers last night.
We have a river next to the campsite and our oldest dog was getting a drink when a fisherman said – you know that’s saltwater? Oh my. It sure was. I had to take her out multiple times the whole night. The fisherman also said there’s an 8 ft alligator that like to rest at that location. Don’t think we’ll go to the river anymore.
We went to watch the grandkids play basketball at the “Y” yesterday. Fun!!
Supposed to be cooler this week. The pool is heated.

    • lysie says:

Ha! You do know that is what camping is about, right? Still, you ARE having fun. Great!

  5. lysie says:

Yesterday was exactly as I wanted. Just another day. We bought an oil filter and oil for our Jeep, LED night light bulbs, and batteries for our remote. Then, we spent some time with our friends at the American Legion and agreed on many subjects re: O and his arrogance.

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
