    Good morning everyone.

NY Daily News…..a prime example of NY Values

    • Molly Pitcher says:

If you won the lottery…what would you do with the money…hmmmm?

I heard a talk show host say he might buy his own airplane…he travels a lot

    • Prairie says:

Honestly, I’d give a lot….perhaps the majority of it….to worthy charities. I know it sounds altruistic but I’m sincere. Oh, I’d probably get a new small car…..ours is a 2009 that had been in the car rental fleet. It isn’t going to last forever but it services us well down here.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi prairie…. I understand what you are saying. There are certainly worthy causes I would love to so easily support. I don’t think I would want to turn my own life upside down because of such a windfall….just a few “extras” of special wishes. …a housecleaning service? A personal chef? Lol..that would be cool, oh, Yes.

    • Prairie says:

Molly… a chef! Great idea. And maybe a personal trainer….because I could use one. But I agree with you on the material things….they don’t bring happiness, that only comes from knowing Christ.

    • The Raven says:

A few years ago, there was a TV show with several new lottery winners getting advice from experts (one was Donald Trump) on what to do with all their money. Seems that most lottery winners are not good with money and they blow through it quickly and go broke. The Donald was big on real estate.
One of the new millionaires wanted to give it away to charity and the experts all advised against that.
As for me, I would use a large fraction as “insurance”….. investing it carefully, use some to combat socialism ( a disease worse than cancer ) – and the rest for a comfortable life.

    • lysie says:

My Gramp, the head teller at a local bank, taught all of us to be conservative with our money and yet not stingy.

First, I would contact an adviser.

Then, I would donate to a few reputable charities, have a new addition built on our American Legion, anonymously pay off family members’s mortgages, have vehicles repaired or buy new…that’s about it. I’m not a needy person so not much would I buy for myself. Besides, I’ve already been to Vegas. LOL

  3. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Power Ball winners in CA,FL,TN. Rav did you win? 🙂

  4. Prairie says:

The procedure went well, the MD very pleased. Hopefully this will clear up the infection….I suppose if it doesn’t then a more invasive procedure under general anesthesia would be required. More than what could be done in the office. I’m back on steroids and antiobiotics for 5 and 10 days

  5. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Well, so much for a no snow winter. We are getting clobbered. Luckily no one needs to get out.

  6. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

My impression is the government probably did something wrong in this case. Whether there’s liability or not is a legal question. However, I feel like the government is doing everything it possibly can to make this as complicated as it possibly can, to last as long as it possibly can, so that by the time there is a result, nobody is going to care except the plaintiffs.

Clinton appointee Judge Dlott on allowing a class action suit by the Tea Party to proceed against the IRS (from today’s WSJ ed.)

  7. Prairie says:

So there was some live music in the Park tonight, a reasonably good festival quality bluegrass band. They do campy, corny humor but people were laughing and enjoying it. The patriarch slips off the stage during one number and returns afterward in green blazer and red baseball cap as “Ronald Rump”, Donald Trump’s twin brother. It was actually fairly clever, he stood up there with his lower lip jutted out, had some one-liners.

I remember from our performing days how tough doing effective comedy is. Our friend Rick was always the one who could pull off the jokes. Miss him a lot.

  8. tillacum says:

When I lived in Germany, I spent many weekends “Folks Marching”, walking through grape vineyards, through old Roman ruins and many farms where the litter from the barns was piled high and wide along the paths we were directed to walk past, Tonight I listened to the president piling the same higher and wider and smellier than any I walked past. We are truly in deep litter.

See you all tomorrow. Prairie, I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow.

    • Prairie says:

Thanks till and everybody, I appreciate the prayers very much.

    • The Raven says:

Ha!! That’s funny, till. But, take heart, as it’s his last SOUA (until his next job as King). Then, his extraction as Molly puts it. I love that word since it isn’t what the Constitution had in mind to describe a President leaving office and Obama isn’t what the Constitution had in mind for the office

      Relevant Morning Quote:

As he begins his final year in office, President Obama’s legacy project is already in high gear. This includes Tuesday night’s State of the Union, which is best understood as the start of a campaign to persuade Americans that the last seven years have been better than they believe. He needs to start early because this reality makeover won’t be easy.

      – WSJ ed.

  9. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody. Checking in, my sinus procedure is in the morning so I may be away for a couple of days. Or I may be around, who knows.

Glad to have other plans tonight, not that I’d watch Stinky’s remarks even if I was at home. Mr. Prairie is considering buying a Powerball ticket..LOL

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. mustknowhistory says:

I hear there will be a Syrian refugee sitting with the First Lady. Isn’t that nice?

  12. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start and countdown, Molly.

  13. edinva says:

Molly, I fear one of the most treacherous times in US history will be between election day 2016 and Inauguration Day 2017.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Quite true!

    • tillacum says:

You’re right ed. I think we’ll see an increase in USA destruction from now to the election, then a tremendous increase from the presidential selection until, and even during the new President’s swearing in, to America’s destruction. He, his minions and George soros are vigorously working toward that end.
There has been some good news about hellary’s time as Sec of State. Evidently she’s been found to temper with “secret” e-mails. She didn’t want the secret e-mails, but wanted that information sent by fax.

    • tillacum says:

I’m going to have to spell. “temper” to tamper.

  14. Molly Pitcher says:

Football and the cold weather across the country are 2 other stories, plus Hillary! trying to deflect the latest email disclosures.

    • tillacum says:

The SEAHAWKS…..WON!!!! YIPPEE! I was worried for a couple of seconds though. It was a hard played game. Now I’ll have to worry (?) through S. Carolina. hmmm.
