America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- February 29, 2016 – March 4, 2016 Remember 9/11

Hello!

First of all…Happy Birthday to all of the people who only have a birthday every 4 years! And apparently it is a trial for them…so…. They can have a huuuuuge party today to makeup for the missed years.

Now Tuesday…Super Tuesday… Hillary! and Trump are expected to do so well, their nominations will be secured. I guess the rest of us with later primaries can just stay home.

The last one (Jessica) is the best performance ever on American Idol IMHO.

    Dems in the news

OJ Knife found !!!!! and where was it?
    Jim Webb for Trump?

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

March 4, 2016 – NATIONAL HUG A G.I. DAY – NATIONAL POUND CAKE DAY – NATIONAL EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY – NATIONAL GRAMMAR DAY

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning! Good to know we have lots of reasons to celebrate today! Who establishes them? Can we submit an idea? Hmmmmm….We had snow last night, and everything…EVERYthing is covered. Quite lovely….now it can melt, thank you.

    • lysie says:

      Hi Molly. Melt, yes..melt.

    • lysie says:

No clue who decides the “national” days. I enjoy it because it takes my mind off the news.

    • The Raven says:

      Other reasons to celebrate:
      – T G I F
      – Next week Spring Forward
      – 30 days to Opening Day !!!!
      – 10 months to extraction

    • lysie says:

Oh yeah! I’m celebrating all those.

Good morning, Rav. What are you and the wife doing today?

Greg is going to to a charity bowling tournament. Later we are out for fish dinner. Yum.

    • tillacum says:

Hmmm, we’re having that this a.m., when you know who gets up.
We watched the most disgusting so called debate last night. After Romney’s tirade against Trump, then last night’s so called moderators egging on 2 first time senators (who spending more time campaigning than doing senatorial work) to attack and interrupt Trump was beyond the pale. It was not a debate, it was verbal fisticuffs. There was not one bit of decorum of respect among the three candidates and the 4th wasn’t much better. Disgusting!
Our gardens are doing beautifully. The beets we planted are popping up, the black-eyed peas are up, I’m planting some more today. Our kale just won’t quit putting out more beautiful leaves, the garlic is beautiful, the tomatoes have flowers and this week we’re putting in the corn.

    • lysie says:

Agree, till. The attacks by everyone were disgusting. There’s no doubt in my mind the moderators planned it. Idiots!

I love hearing about your gardens. It’s much better than freezing temperatures and the white stuff.

    • The Raven says:

Lysie….split duties today. Our oldest grandchild has a birthday today (but she’s missing her two front teeth and is embarrassed) … my better half is going to help mom prepare the house for the fun while I watch the dogs. Hah !!

    • The Raven says:

Molly keeps misspelling Yuuuuge as Huuuuge

    • Molly Pitcher says:

You are yuuuge-ly right, Raven. Good luck with the birthday party!

  3. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody. The presentation went very well, so thanks for your good wishes. As far as Mitt Romney…..I agree with Molly. Wouldn’t justa scintilla of common sense serve the Republicans at this point? I look for the official scolding of the electorate by some GOP long-timers to commence soon. Pfft!

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

Ok…now let’s talk about Romney…..I’ll start…less than helpful, likely to firm up Trump’s support even more, and who the heck cares what Mitt thinks anymore??

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

March 3, 2016 – NATIONAL ANTHEM DAY—NATIONAL COLD CUTS DAY – NATIONAL MULLED WINE DAY – NATIONAL I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY DAY

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

After the results of “Super Tuesday,” we find ourselves with front-runners in their respective parties who each could, as President of the United States, take the decline of America under the Obama administration, even further down, to a point of no return.

      – T Sowell

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Love, love the breakfast. Thanks lysie.

    • lysie says:

Thanks, Molly. Are you able to unwind from your trip?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well….today I will try to pick up some more of the regular routine, yes…getting there…Our old cat is still with us, so that is something!
Is there such a thing as: Trump Derangement Syndrome? Bennett has a regular caller and guest, a distinguished psychiatrist…and he thinks there is.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Did you hear about Tavis Smiley’s comments on Trump??

    • mustknowhistory says:

Yes, TDS. I think everyone on Fox News has it. Whatever happened to fair and balanced? Maybe the Donald is a fraud, but can’t they just report the facts and let us draw our own conclusions? I know, I know…silly me. We are just too stupid.

    • mustknowhistory says:

Found this comment on another site. Don’t know if it is true (pagliano is the person who was given immunity in the Clinton email scandal):

Napolitano was on Fox this morning. This is his take on immunity for Pagliano: The investigation is complete and the FBI has recommended prosecution. US Attorneys have gone to a judge to request immunity for Pagliano. They couldnt have made the request if there wasn’t a grand jury proceeding in process.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks for the Napolitano info…fascinating. I HAD heard that for anything more to go forward, a grand jury had to be in place. And that is a serious step.

    • The Raven says:

And the grand jury fails to indict. Case closed. And O is standing by with his pardon powers. Is it possible that O grants a pardon in secret?

    • The Raven says:

Well … just bought some Yankees v. Pirates spring training tickets (Mar 17th). I preferred Boston but the prices were double. And the Nationals were too far away (3 hour drive). Big surprise was the ticket agency fee – $30 for two tickets – tacked on at the end. What a rip off.
Should be a fun day, Spring training seats are all pretty good compared to big stadiums,

    • lysie says:

And green beer , Rav. LOL

    • lysie says:

Molly, yes, I did read about Tavis Smiley’s comments. I’ll leave it at that.

  6. The Raven says:

    Democrats in the news:

DOJ grants immunity to former staffer in Clinton email investigation.

    .
Whoa. How does a liberal journalist cover this story now that the coronation has already occurred?
Oh wait! How about, if they now discover that this staffer was the boggy man and since they gave him immunity, case closed.

  7. The Raven says:

Thanks to all for B-Day greetings. And, Lysie, my night at the restaurant started out really well, The appetizer was really good as was the salad. They offered two different strip steaks – one standard and the other was for liberals (no hormones, grass fed, lean, organic, less taste, and much more money). I took the standard. Then after a fairly long wait, we got the steaks and mine was cooked quite a bit more than the medium-rare I ordered. It was more like medium well. My wife had a much thicker cut and hers appeared to be a touch undercooked as she ordered medium and hers was maybe a little less but not much, Well, during our long wait for the steaks, our waitress was chit-chatting with the people at the next table for a very long time. I speculated to my wife that I bet our steaks either kept cooking under the infrared lights or the chef threw it back on the flames to heat it up. Since my wife had a thick “baseball” of a steak – it wasn’t affected as much. Usually steak places have a lot of practice cooking steaks and get it right so I didn’t think the chef was at fault – except when the waitress didn’t pick it up, the chef should have discarded the steaks.
The waitress soon asked if everything was cooked OK, and I said no, She offered to get another one and I was almost done with mine at that point, so I declined. The manager came over and looked at my steak, shook his head, and gave me both the steak and dessert for free.
I thought about stiffing the waitress, but in the end, I gave her a full tip.

    • lysie says:

Darn. I was hoping you would have a wonderful time.

      Did you have dessert? LOL

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Aack…there are expectations and then there is reality. I hope your next steak dinner is a better one.

    • The Raven says:

Lysie…yes, – key lime pie. It was a little strange, as they used a doughy, conventional pie crust rather than the graham cracker crust which is usual. I wouldn’t do it again.
Funny, until the steak & dessert , my wife and I were commenting that this restaurant was the best we had been to in Florida.

  8. Prairie says:

Hello everybody. Glad to have an opportunity to check in. I’ve been prepping this week to give a talk at the ladies luncheon at our church and that is tomorrow. I’m bringing Mr. Prairie along as technology consultant as I will show different websites from my computer onto a large TV and those things…..distract me. I can mess up a remote control faster than you can say “Tech Weenie”. Anyway, I think I’m pretty much ready. After tomorrow I have called a leadership meeting next week for some in our Bible Study group (who have demonstrated leadership this year) to get input and involvement in seeking God’s will for our group. After that, I’m trying hard to stay clear of commitments for a while. My, we live in interesting times, politics-wise, don’t we….

Raven….Wishing you a very happy birthday!

  9. Molly Pitcher says:

    Developments…
Dr. Carson is bowing out, it sounds like,
And Romney is announcing he is making a major speech tomorrow…

    • The Raven says:

      My prediction:

Romney will set conditions for his entry into the race. But, Trump will prevail and win the Republican nod. The Dems will use the same trick they used on Perry and DeLay. They will indict him for something having to do with race or immigrants. This will come after the female felon (felonette?) is given a pass.

    • lysie says:

I pray that dem trick doesn’t happen, Rav.

    • lysie says:

Rav , did you have your birthday dinner?

    • edinva says:

G’day Molly, all .. and happy birthday to Rav .. first I was early, now I guess I’m late.

Understandable, but sorry Dr. Carson didn’t gain more traction to stay in the race. Hope he finds a good position in a future Trump Administration. I would love to see him clean up the Veterans Administration. Much of his campaigning focused on the terrible treatment of vets, so that would be a good appointment for him, better than Surgeon General.

Today for us is recovery day! We finished out our election official duties @ 9pm, after arriving there at 5am, with hardly a break, maybe 10 minutes to wolf down 2 pieces of pizza that constituted breakfast, lunch and dinner. Continuous flow of voters from the minute we opened at 6am till 7p closing. No long lines, but continuous, Don’t think there was a total of 15 minutes, combined, of all the gaps between signing in voters. At least the group of officials that work there are nice, genial folks who help make the day move fast.

The R winner in our precinct which is home to many heavy hitter insiders was .. ta da … Rubio. 2nd was Kasich, followed by Trump, Cruz, Dr. Carson. The last 2 didn’t hit 50 votes between them. Turnout was high for a primary, 931 voters yesterday, added to the 600 absentee ballots cast, out of 2299 registered voters in the precinct. Almost 60/40% split R/D, tho it’s an open primary so not sure how many D’s took R ballots to try to ‘stop Trump.’

Yesterday was a glorious Spring day. Today is cold, and s*** is forecast for tomorrow night into Friday. Well, it IS March. Was nice, tho, to have that break, and I think the warmer temps return Sunday or Monday.

      Gotta go take another nap!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes… I see… the population of your precinct voted per conventional wisdom would predict.

      Thanks for the report.

  10. Molly Pitcher says:

Now, Big Birthday Greetings to Raven , Conservative Pundit and Quotation Finder and Friday Funnies Engineer Par Excellence!

  11. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

March 2, 2016 – NATIONAL READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY (DR. SEUSS DAY) – NATIONAL BANANA CREAM PIE DAY – NATIONAL OLD STUFF DAY

    • Jemian says:

Good morning. Thank you for fixing breakfast for all of us.

    • Jemian says:

Ya’ know, I’ve been studying on this here wall idea. I’ve heard some say it isn’t feasible, that a wall of that size just can’t be built. Really? The Chinese built a bit of a wall. The Romans built a bit of a wall. Our wall can be built and should be built.

    • lysie says:

You are welcome, Jem. I agree with you. Build the dang wall and enforce the laws.

    • mustknowhistory says:

Trump’s presser last night was really good. He spent the first part talking about economic growth and how to get it. Watching FBN last night, Art Laffer was very positive about Trump’s economic plan. This Trump I could vote for.

Remember economic growth and what that felt like?

    • lysie says:

Good morning, MKH. Whoever our candidate is he MUST beat Hillary or Bernie. If not..kiss economic growth goodbye.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Good morning!
Banana Cream Pie Day…lol. “Old Stuff Day”…Does that mean us?? or old stuff like you find in attics and basements, and somewhere in between?

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Molly. Good to be home?

      Old stuff…others not us. 🙂

    • The Raven says:

Jem, the Israeli’s built a wall. (the bad guys are now tunneling under it). And the Vatican has a really big wall.

BTW… My wife has changed her mind on Trump. She will now vote for him if it comes down to it. She also thinks he will mop the floor with Hillary.

      PS: Is it safe yet?

    • lysie says:

“mop the floor with Hillary” I would like to see that…..Hillary as a mop..Ha!

    • The Raven says:

Down here in Florida, there is a barrage of Rubio ads. Nothing from Cruz. I will make an educated guess that Cruz and Rubio made a side deal to not campaign in each other’s home turf and see if they can beat Trump on their own.

MKH…I think Hillary should be getting the wrath of the media – not Trump. Therein lies the problem. We put Mitt Romney against Obamacare and there was no traction possible with his Massachusetts roots. Now the media will make the incompetent liar and felon look like Cinderella next to Trump. Note the media is ignoring Cruz on purpose.

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  13. Jemian says:

    Prayers for our nation today.

  14. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start, Molly.
