America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- April 2 , 2016 – April 3 , 2016 Remember 9/11 ( Weekend Edition)

Greg wrote this to many on his email list.

Stanley is a good friend of ours. He is retiring this April. He came to the United States From Poland as a teenager. He lived in Poland under Communism. He learned to speak perfect English. He is educated and became an engineer.

If you could talk to him he would tell you how he is extremely concerned about the direction of our Country and how some of our young people are even considering the “Democrat Socialist” Bernie Sanders or even Hillary Clinton. He fears the promises of free stuff they can’t deliver without giving up our freedoms and opportunities. Once you don’t follow the Constitution and the Bill of Rights you are at the mercy of whoever is in power. Once you give up these protections you don’t get them back.

His family was fortunate to escape Communism , but if we give up our rights and our Country and our influence in the world there will be nowhere to go. He will be the first to admit our Country is not perfect , but there is no where else he would be.

We can learn from someone who has experienced life under total Government control without living it our self.

  1. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. We have about 4 inches of snow and more coming. Blah!

    • The Raven says:

Thanks all for the kind words, all. As it turned out, I was on my way to the airport for the flight home to see mom when Hospice called and said she had passed in her sleep.

I had called the funeral home and they arranged to transport her to Pennsylvania where mom’s cemetery plot is (next to dad). I ended up cancelling my flight and am still in FL

As late as last week she was still reading the Free Republic posts every morning.

    • lysie says:

So very sorry. Your mom and dad raised a good son. (((((hugs)))) for you and your family.

      Do you have siblings?

    • The Raven says:

My brother. He’s in the DC area

    • lysie says:

      Both of you take care.

    • tillacum says:

Thanks for a good looking breakfast lysie.
Rave, your Mom sounded spunky and fun. Prayers for you and family.

    • lysie says:

You are welcome, till. Winter is back. The high for today is 30 degrees and snow still coming down. Dang it!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope the snow has stopped for you lysie. We are home and among other things I will have to call the dentist tomorrow….it feels like I’ve lost a big filling.

  2. Prairie says:

Good afternoon everybody, checking in briefly. We have had overall good traveling weather and are enjoying ourselves this weekend at a music festival. Will be traveling and meeting up with other picker-friends over this next week before we head on up to the Land of Deer, Bear, and Elk. When not on the road, I should have time to join in here more regularly, I miss our camaraderie.

Raven, I’m sorry to read about your mom on the other thread. Know that we are thinking and praying for you and your family. Take care, all.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi prairie. Glad you are ok, and in touch again,

We are leaving CO tomorrow early, so I will thank you in advance for breakfast lysie, and should be home tomorrow by evening….

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

We are thinking of you and your family, Rav.
