It used to be that a person in the wrong had to prove innocence. An Idaho couple is learning that it’s now the opposite.
They are trying to evict a squatter who made herself at home in their empty house while they tried to sell it. The squatter said she signed a lease. The owners say they didn’t lease the home. A judge ruled that the couple can’t evict her.
Plus, the squatter was arrested a few days ago for failure to finish probation for a drug charge. She spent 8 days in jail.
I envision , a few years down the road….knock, knock, knock. Door opens. Person on the outside. ” I need a room for a few days. Let me in.” Owner , no. Stranger takes it to court…Judge rules the homeowner …in the future… must let a person in. It’s only fair. /S
