America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- May 2, 2016 – May 6, 2016 Remember 9/11

What? What?? Another primary…sigh …..and Indiana is the focus this week. Cruz is said to be barnstorming the state, while Trump is super confident of a victory.
Gov. Kasich, where are you?

Did you know that Iraq is teetering on the edge of chaos? I find that incredibly sad and disturbing….for the good people there who hoped for something different after the brutality of Saddam, and years of war, and our good men and women who died there, were injured there. This needn’t have happened. No.

Stop Saying “I Feel Like” Coming from the NYT, this is quite amusing…

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      OOps….looks like I have a link to fix…Good morning!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope you are looking at a good day? Out and about yesterday, I was appreciating all the flowering trees…at one location, just tree after tree in a long line, so the effect was Wonderful.

    • lysie says:

The buds on our red maple are finally opening. Soon, bright red leaves. 🙂

It looks like high 60s and partly sunny. I’ll take it.

No major plans that I know of. Then again, Greg could come out any moment and ask, are your ready? LOL

    • tillacum says:

Good Morning lysie and Molly. It’s a beautiful day in central Texas. My yard man will be here and we have a lot to do. I’m transplanting some day lilies and other bulbs. My pink and yellow rose have bloomed, they are beautiful. I bought a Yellow Rose of Texas, in fact I bought 2, one for here and one for the community garden. We’ll plant one here, today and tomorrow the other at the community garden. I’m looking for a couple more, one to put by the post box and the other at the bottom of the flag pole.

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Hi lysie.
My friend and her husband got terrible news yesterday. More tests are coming to find the right course of treatment. But the first round showed Stage 4 cancer, and there are both primary and secondary locations. Challenges ahead and prayers needed. I just wept when I read her email.

    • lysie says:

Oh no! Saying prayers for your friends. So sad. ((((Molly))))

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie Their spirits are strong so far, and friends are stepping up to help and offer support. That is a good thing, and much appreciated. She is pleased with the doctors too.

    • tillacum says:

ed, I have a friend who is “learning” to cook. It’s all about health, gluten, and all of the other stuff connected with that type of thinking. My gardens sure aren’t “ORGANIC”, we
have cotton and corn growers in the vicinity and we get sprayed with whatever, and our plants LOVE it.

    • edinva says:

Thanks, once more, lysie for a delightful, balanced breakfast. (I went for pancakes this am. It’s usually a weekend treat, but it’s @ DayEleven of overcast/rain, so we deserved a treat!)

And here we thought all the fun (read: bickering) would end when Cruz and Kasich suspended. Ha! I am a little surprised that people who’ve held high posts and yap about Trump’s being “emotional” or speaking without thinking have been so quick themselves to jump on the bandwagon of those not attending the convention or claiming they won’t vote for him no matter what. Seems a rather emotional, unthinking response to the sudden collapse of primary season 😉

Till, your garden sounds lovely. I’m sure the rest of us will see that big yellow ball in the sky before too long.

  6. lysie says:

    ALERT! Heads up.

Frozen fruits and vegetables recalled over listeria fears

It covers about 358 different products sold under 42 separate brands, including products sold at Costco, Walmart and Trader Joe’s.

  7. lysie says:

I think we will need to share this.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

For sure! Now that’s a pizza!
Good morning lysie….I have a mid a.m. appt. and just down the street from the doctor’s building: my favorite garden store….good day to take a stroll thru the flowers, etc.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

So there’s an article over at NR analyzing Cruz’s defeat…and weakness: in the end, he was a “niche” candidate. The author may be right. But to be limited government, pro-Constitution means you’re a “niche” candidate??!? I get that he had his faults…but the depth of his positions shouldn’t be one of them.

    • lysie says:

Hi, Molly. It’s about time we can shop for flowers, right? I can’t wait.

I hope your appointment goes well.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It looks like I didn’t lose as many perennials this year as last, so that is a big thing! Now what;s the time frame for getting your vegetables going?

Lysie, Molly … what I wanted to draw your attention to in the pix is what’s written on the bottom of Zoe’s footwear in the outdoor shot.

      What is it, ed?

    • mustknowhistory says:

      It says Trumpette, I think.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s right….Trumpette. A little hard to read. It was easier in the email attachment I got. Very cute baby, and that lovely Virginia scene behind them. Near and dear to Thomas Jefferson.

  12. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start, Molly. Another rainy day, here.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It may clear up….rained here a few hours ago, and now the sun is out.
      Good morning!

    • lysie says:

Hi Molly. We could us a little sunshine.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Sunshine didn’t last long😕

    • edinva says:

I am just now catching up … what a week!!! First of all, thanks for posting the fam pic, lysie .. yes, the bottom of Z’s footwear says “Trumpette.” At first I thought they were at the Trump estate/vineyards in Charlottesville (which they may well have been – they were in C’ville) but then I remembered that Trumpette is the brand name of an entire line of baby footwear.

I think pretty much everyone who perceives him/herself as Republican or conservative is reeling for the suddenness with which the primary season came to an end. All those millions upon millions spent to shut down The Donald, all gone to waste, and now all kinds of #NeverTrump types insisting they’re so principled they’ll vote for Hillary! rather than him. That’s sure proving your conservative bona fides!

As it turns out it may be the Dems who now have a fun-filled contested convention. I doubt Hillary could survive, yet the D powers-that-be want Bernie about as much as the R powers-that-be wanted Trump. All too funny because it IS true that both parties have become corrupted by power. Imagine a race with a hard core Commie vs. a (mostly) self-made billionaire capitalist! What could be more fun?

We are on the 11th day of overcast/rain/showers/drizzle/t-storms for at least part of every single day. It’s supposed to clear up and be sunny and low 70 temps here for Mother’s Day. My sons are having us over for brunch at their new place. DD will be celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a mother. I’m thinking of going afterwards to a Marine band chamber music concert. The various USMC bands put on free concerts every week, and I hardly ever go .. ’bout time to step it up! (Molly, another thing to do if we can get together on your next trip to DC is to go to the Marine Barracks for a concert or Friday night dress parade)

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I didn’t know that about the baby clothes name. Interesting!

  13. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

“… It seems the whole idea of Communism, or whatever they want to call it, is based on propaganda and blood. Their whole life and thought is to convince somebody else. It looks to me like if a thing is so good and is working so fine for you, you would kind of want to keep it to yourself.”

    – Will Rogers

    Democrats in the News

Et Tu Cuomo – NY Corruption Takedown by US Attorney Preet Bharara continues

Why are all the lefty states corrupt? Will the Supremes give a pass?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning!…..communism: based on a lot of blood, spilled, that’s for sure.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

…a never ending story, Dem corruption.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

If you get a chance read the NYT article I linked at the top and let me know what you think…The title caught my attention, but then….in the very first paragraph, the writer mentions Cruz and Trump for her evidence that we are making political decisions that are emotion-based! Unbelievable considering the the Dems have been working this angle for decades…..But NOW it’s suddenly a problem for the Left. Sigh…..

    • The Raven says:

Yeppers…I know people with the “I feel like” opening. But I don’t agree with the article that it is a powerful deflection of an argument against. I “feel like” it is a wimpy statement that you can easily allow the other side of the argument in…… It’s a squishy lead in for squishy people. Once my boss wanted to find out why I wasn’t a lib (my third straight uber-lib boss). He sent over another lib to ask me. I was caught off- guard but managed to rattle off a few points. Then, the boss himself asked me (apparently not satisfied). That was the perfect time for a “I feel like.” But, what I said was something like…..”Your ideology is a never-ending sea of malcontents.” I didn’t get fired.

Speaking of political decisions how about Biden/Warren?

“Don’t be shocked … if two weeks before the convention, here comes Joe Biden parachuting in and Barack Obama fanning the flames to make it all happen,” the former speaker said.

Could it be that Obama is holding back the Hillary email indictment to see what the polls look like via Trump or Cruz?

    • lysie says:

Put the cuffs on all of them. I’m sick of the corrupt politicians.

I’m trying to remember if I express my views using the “feel like” phrase. I know I have used it this way: 😉

    • The Raven says:

      Singing with you Lysie

      ” … Some LGBT’s have nuts….others don’t!! …”

PS…Is that kind of joke PC today?

    • lysie says:

      LOL , Rav. LOL
