  1. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Scrumptious…I have some pecan syrup which I got last Feb. in TEXAS, but haven’t opened up yet….what am I saving it for??

    • tillacum says:

      Looks so yummy. Thank you.
Open the bottle up, Molly. You’ll be happy you did.

    • The Raven says:

So what does everyone think of the Lynch decision? Anyone smell a rat? NY Times and Democrats… chance of lies, deception.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I think Hot Air has a piece up about it: probably a dodge of some sort. Company arriving soon, so I will see if I can easily find it..
      Probably a smokescreen

    • mustknowhistory says:

Drudge is calling it the non-recusal recusal. Lynch was yucking it up with the reporter, as if to say. ‘Silly me.’ Completely non-serious.

    • mustknowhistory says:

Just listened to Limbaugh interviewing J Christian Adams. Adams said it was enough for Lynch and Clinton to meet. They did not need to discuss anything. Career lawyers at DOJ can read the tea leaves and know to slow walk everything. After all, Hillary will be the next president and these lawyers are not going to jeapordize their careers.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks for the Christian Adams report mkh…that makes sense. Is Limbaugh doing more interviews like this, btw?

    • The Raven says:

I think my hat is safe from my eating it (if Hillary has anything other than a wrist slap)

      oh…how about a relevant quote:

What on earth were you thinking ?

      – Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart to Loretta Lynch

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes till That bottle will be opened up. I am waiting for the right occasion…we are so trying to stay lo carb, but…the hour is coming!!

  2. The Raven says:

Carrasco strikes out 14 and takes [redacted] to 13th straight win

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Go [redacted]!! Love it…

Ok…good morning, and thank you for the rain…we need it….plus it will be over by about noon….maybe….

    • edinva says:

G’day all … again, as always, lysie, merci for le petit dejeuner .. tomorrow we do waffles here!

I’ve been getting all kinds of pop up notices that the Northeast has several tornado warnings out today. Great way to start this holiday weekend. We have only severe thunderstorm warnings. Ain’t we the lucky ones?

Todays being Friday seems entirely too anti-climactic. I would have sworn Tuesday was Friday. Oy. Gonna be a grand weekend. I wish I could handle mega crowds, and if I could, I’d go to the Mall, but I can’t so I won’t. Actually, I love little neighborhood parades where the kids dress up, fix their bikes, wagons, etc. and march a few blocks. It’s so Americana to me. We used to do that where we lived before moving down here to the ghetto. Even had a watermelon seed spitting contest!!! One year when my twin boys were about 5 years old, they marched wearing their red/white and blue/white striped (respectively) Osh Gosh overalls. At a certain point they were melting at the end of the parade, unable to keep up with the big kids, so the fire truck that was always the “caboose” of the parade, stopped and offered to have them ride in the air conditioned truck, behind the driver …. so there they were, waving to the crowds, cute as the day is long, from that AC’d comfort. (and I got to ride along!)

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That is so good! Hope you got a nice rest last night..

      Good morning lysie and Raven….

    • lysie says:

      Wow! Your team!!! Hooray!!

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Molly.

Any good plans for the day?

Greg’s brother came to spend a few nights at the camp fishing. I hope the boys do well.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, if all works out I will get out in the garden…nothing too exciting, tho….well the baseball ….that’s really all I need. Thanks you and Raven for noticing.
I looked up ALL the standings . There are quite a lot of teams above .500 this year at this time. Texas and the Cubs are really doing well.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh my gosh…one of our friends has broken both legs…just heard the news. while we were gone. Need to find out more, but her husband, who we actually know better, is the main, busy care giver.

  4. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

It cannot be that evidence an investigator may use to prove guilt of terrorism offenses is somehow insulated from an investigator’s suspicions about potential terrorism offenses.

In 1996, I was awarded the Justice Department’s highest honor [prosecuting the Blind Shiekh] … Today, to say aloud what the Clinton administration honored me for twenty years ago, is to be ostracized as an Islamophobic bigot.

    – Andy McCarthy testifying at the Cruz hearings

    • lysie says:

It’s the do anything, say anything to cover his arse…even if it means death to others. Disgusting man and anyone who follows his commands/lies.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I agree….sacrificing lives for some pre-election “narrative”?? Despicable…then lying and lying about it?? And then I see some photo of him with his foot on the desk in the Oval Office… His contempt for us …I return it and more.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

WHOA…watching Sports Ohio, and a Trump ad runs…stop Hillary Now. The speaker is one of the Benghazi defenders. Strong it is.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Wildly un PC, wouldn’t you agree? The Indians are playing the Braves…late inning, and the Braves are up to bat, losing, & what appears on some of the smaller scoreboards around the field? Chopping tomahawks! Oh the horror!

    • The Raven says:

Yes-sir-eee-Bob — the [redacted] shut out [redacted] and extended their winning streak to 12 games !!! Happy days in Cleveland

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      the whole month….June 2016…never forget…whatever else happens…..

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Is the Fix in? Haven’t read the article yet…but….

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  7. Molly Pitcher says:

Trump’s speech on the economy. Powerline. Sounds pretty good

  8. Molly Pitcher says:

Afternoon, everyone….Kimberley Strassel has written a timely book: the Intimidation Game…VERY timely…about the effort to supress political speech…this kind of thing seems to be in the news regularly now. Remember the WI prosecutor of a few years ago who made those early a.m. raids?? She covers that, plus the global warming dissent …making that illegal….and more…

    • edinva says:

      G’day all

Speaking of “alternative realities” did anyone watch the Benghazi Committee’s presser (or read the report) then read the NYT/Hillary! take on that ?

Happy to report we are enjoying a beautiful sunny warm, not hot and/or humid, day here in our Nation’s Capital. DH has semi-annual physical exam today on the other, far other, end of town. Then mentally I am set for the Fourth of July weekend (for which I have NO plans whatsoever!)

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope your DH gets a good report, and ALL goes off well and safely and funly in the Nation’s Capital.!!

  9. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Sorry for the late breakfast. Darn hip hurt all night.

    • The Raven says:

Get a sleep number bed for the hip pain !!!

    • lysie says:

      We may just do that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Sorry to read that….(((lysie)))

We are on the road…listening to the final bk. in Rick Atkinson’s WWII trilogy. The French are about to enter Paris! Vive la France!

    • tillacum says:

Let’s see. Bacon, eggs, cheese?, bisquits with a cuppa. OH YUM. Thank you lysie.

The GOP Benghazi report will be out today and a conference at 1000 hours. I’ve heard the democrat version was released yesterday and Donald Trump appeared in that report 29 times. Was he in Benghazi during the raid?

    • tillacum says:

lysie, I’m so sorry your hip is so sore. I remember mine, those years ago. Have you made an appointment for a second opinion? Please, my friend, find a solution, I just hate the idea of you hurt so.

    • lysie says:

Thanks, till. When I had my left hip replaced 8 years ago I was told that my right one wasn’t quite as bad. I will get a second opinion. Not to worry, dear friend. I’m a tough cookie. 😉

    • The Raven says:

IMHO the video excuse at Benghazi was Obama’s idea or Ben Rhodes. Hillary executed it and is keeping quiet in exchange for air cover on her emails. I bet there has already been a pardon written up for Justice

    • edinva says:

sorry to read about your ongoing hip issues, lysie. Hope you find some permanent resolution SOON.
      And thanks for breakfast!

    • lysie says:

You are welcome, ed. Thanks. I’ll be fine in a couple of weeks….then….boot scootin’ and chacha. I’ve missed dancing……very much.

    • edinva says:

lysie, glad to hear ‘help is on the way’ and you’ll be back to your old trix!!!

DH and I just returned from blood draw(s) to hear that Andrews AFB is on lockdown due to report of ‘active shooter’ … guess you all can see on TV. Maybe over by now?

Just so looking forward to the Fourth weekend. I’ve been messed up all week on what day it is. I thought DH’s doc appt was today, as I thought a mediation he had to participate in was today. Both were yesterday. Alas, he’s more on top of his calendar than I. We both had to go for blood draws this am, me to see if I am in fact pre-diabetic, or if the result last time, first ever showing high blood sugar, was due to a little over-celebrating at Christmas with all those Belgian truffles. DH may be taken off yet another pill. He no longer has to take any diabetes meds, which is something of a miracle. All things considered, we’re in darn good shape for our ages, so no complaints at all.

Let’s just get on with the weekend, already!!!

  12. Molly Pitcher says:

Evening all….a Hillary!/Pocahantas ticket? Well why not….it’s absurd enough for the times… Men , particularly white men, would love it. Not.

  13. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

      Morning quote #1:

I instinctively felt I had an extraordinary image

Ansel Adams on capturing his famous Moonrise over Hernandez in newly released video

      – – – – – – – – – –

      Morning quote #2:

It is hard to say how it happened: Perhaps it is that Republicans’ primary appeal is to something small-towners take for granted (tradition), while Democrats’ is to something that small-towners are condemned for lacking (diversity). Both appeals can be effective, but it is only the latter that incites people to repudiate the culture in which they grew up. Perhaps it is that at universities–through which pass all small-town people aiming to climb to a higher social class–Democratic party affiliation is the sine qua non of being taken for a serious, non-hayseed human being.

For these people, liberalism is not a belief at all. No, it’s something more important: a badge of certain social aspirations. That is why the laments of the small-town leftists get voiced with such intemperance and desperation. As if those who voice them are fighting off the nagging thought: If the Republicans aren’t particularly evil, then maybe I’m not particularly special.

Christopher Caldwell of the Weekly Standard (from Instapundit article)

And one more news bit today:

      – A wider Panama Canal opens today !!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie….good morning to all. Getting ready to start for home, with a detour along way to see old friend.

Wonder how the markets will open this a.m.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

YAY! Editing/ posting again in the header…..some glitch with WordPress I guess…not me.

The title of the piece I linked …I changed that slightly, but significantly.

  14. edinva says:

AND Independence Day just ahead! We remember what an extraordinary event that was in all of history. And the sacrifices of the colonists willing to lose their fortunes, as many did, for that cause. But that we had leadership like that today.

Let’s pray for wisdom at the SCOTUS … not counting on it, and many cases will be ties, leaving them where they were before getting to the SCOTUS. In some cases that’s good, in others not so much.

Certainly am feeling sorry for those folks out in the beautiful state of West Virginia.

  15. lysie says:

Thanks for the new thread Molly. See you in the morning.
