Some news to start the week:

Hillary seems to be snubbing the major police union this election year as she is not seeking its endorsement. She is now extra close to BLM. That’s the choice she’s made.

      TGIF, everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Long travel day tomorrow as we head east on last leg of trip, or maybe our last legs. At this point, it ‘s not clear.

    • lysie says:

Travel safely. A-Rods last game now on.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh, enjoy it then. I hope it’s a good one for him…the last of his career

    • Jemian says:

In Jakarta. One more flight to go. I checked into the transit hotel here (right in the airport) and slept from about 0830 to 1845. Showered, washed hair, changed clothes.

    • The Raven says:

OMG – you are bringing back memories. I used to not look forward to trips to Asia. Most were in Business class and were OK. I would overnight in Hong Kong and the hotel would pick me up in a limo !! I tried Tokyo once or twice, but it was too far to the hotels.

Then, later, budget cuts came and coach was the norm I experimented with overnighting in San Francisco on the way to SIngapore – my thought was to shorten the longest ride in coach. Even thought of Hawaii – but the trip length was way too long.

Hope the rest of your flight goes well, Jem. PS – Football starts soon.

  1. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    Morning quote:

Everything Hillary has ever touched has failed, been engulfed in scandal, resulted in massive investigations, litigation, financial ruin, prison or death. The final stage of any Hillary enterprise is a grand announcement that Hillary did not technically break the law. Or no one can prove she did. Or, even if she did, no one ever gets prosecuted for it.

    – Ann Coulter

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning! Hope Jemian was able to get off all right

    • Jemian says:

I did get off alright. Thank you, Molly. I am now at the beginning of a six-hour layover in LAX. I made the error of purchasing an pass to the Delta Lounge. The food selection is not good – all carbs! There isn’t any scrambled eggs or sausage or anything like that. And no diet coke. They also want to much for alcohol – which is chock-full of carbs, too. Oy vay. I’ll get over it. Well finished with Delta and moving on to Singapore Air.

Still haven’t made the final decision about Facebook.

      How is PB?

    • lysie says:

      Thanks for the update, Jem.

PB seems to be doing better. Still, we must realize each day we have with him is a blessing.

    • Jemian says:

I am in SQ11 somewhere over the Pacific on the way to Narita. Pretty good level of comfort for coach. I was rather wiped out by the time I got to the gate and, since I needed to chat with the gate clerk, I say in the first row of chairs, the handicapped zone. Presently, a young lady came up and asked if I wanted them to wheelchair me onto the plane. I thought for a moment and indulged. I was the second passenger to board. They will pick me up in Narita and take me to the next gate. How cool is that!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good choice, Jemian. We have started on our way home too.

    • Jemian says:

I have always felt the Tokyo/Narita airport to be laid-out in a confusing manner. But this time, they met me at the plane, wheeled me through security and to the correct gate. No confusion!

What was even more cool is that the stewardesses and stewards were all Indonesians. They were very impressed as I waited for the wheelchair that I could speak their language.

On to Singapore! So far, so good.

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

So good. Thanks lysie. We are still walking our feet off here as it remains a tad too cool and cloudy for my taste. Oh well.
      Any rain prospects there?

    • lysie says:

Yes, Molly. We did have some rain. Need much more, though. I think I hear the plants saying…”ah”!

    • The Raven says:

They must really be broke in Rio. The swimming pool turned green with algae. Insufficient chlorine! Hope no one gets sick.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What is the viewership? Am sure it helps that we have won some medals, but….

    • Molly Pitcher says:

You know Raven, all those years ago when you mentioned the inevitability of a Hillary! presidency, I thought you were a tad pessimistic….she was and still is, a terrible person, public “servant”, campaigner…. But the past year I have come around to your way of thinking. You were right.

    • Jemian says:

I’m leaving the house at 3AM. Is it worth it even trying to sleep or should I just sleep, if I can, on the plane? Hmmmm.

    • The Raven says:

Back to Rio – we have this:

Journalists in the bus hurled themselves to the floor after two windows were blown out. The driver put his foot down and got the passengers to the Games’ main press centre.

      Bullets ?

    • The Raven says:

      >> But the past year I have come around to your way of thinking

I don’t remember…what was I thinking? That she would be OK? If so, that must have been an imposter Raven. My rule is never, ever vote for a socialist, Democrat, fascist, or communist.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

No,no you were very, very pessimistic :that she would be awful, but likely to be president. I suppose this was in ’08 or earlier. It has just taken her longer, thanks , UGH, to 0bama.
I just didn’t think she would make it…

    How about that Mr. Fung?

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

And good morning to you. Are you still enjoying the lake? Here it is cloudy….

    • lysie says:

Good morning. Not at the camp. Still monitoring PB and now our Koi in our pond are having problems. With no rain the pond level is down about 18 inches. One Koi died last night. We have it aerated, but with this heat and no rain it puts a strain on the fish. We would fill it up some, but we need to conserve our well water. Yesterday we bought bags of ice to put in it…cooling the water a little. Also Greg put a tarp over to shade it.

Darn heat and no rain. We are now on a drought watch. I have never seen it like this….here…ever.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my…that is serious. Greg’s ideas …sure hope they work.

  8. tillacum says:

Happy to hear PB is stronger and spunkieness is good news.
Rave, I heard the murdered Iranian scientist accused of spying for America had his name on Shrillery’s. e-mail . She and her group were real blabber mouths on her e-mail. I think people have been quietly done away with because of their sloppiness. (CIA people). I also heard the FBI is investigating a union (? can’t remember the letters) and among the boxes hauled out contained Shrillery’s stuff also. I guess she was using their office for a vote for hillery place.
    Golly it’s HOT and HUMID!

  9. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start, Molly and the quotes, Rav.

    • Jemian says:

Good morning! I went to bed last night after reading about the arrests of terrorists on the island of Batam, which is owned by Indonesia. They were planning to launch missiles into Singapore, about 20 kilometers away from that island.

I wake up to read that, due to an IT glitch, Delta has grounded their fleet worldwide. I am flying Delta to LA on Thursday.

    • lysie says:

      Good morning, Jem.

Oh no! Do you think Delta was hacked? Prayers for you during your travels. (((hug)))

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Oh dear…I hope it is all straightened out soon for your travels. We fly Delta on Saturday.
      Stay safe Jemian

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Delta is starting up again gradually today

    • Jemian says:

I wasn’t all that worried they wouldn’t get it straightened out by flight time. But, the why of it all has me a mite concerned. Safe travels to both of us!

And just now, I have read that Julian Assange has released some more emails. If I understood things correctly, the email, among other things, directly links Hillary to the attempted coup in Turkey of a few weeks ago.

Has anyone booked flights through Orbitz? So far, I have only been charged for the booking fee and not for the flights. In the past, and with other companies, the entire charge goes through immediately. Does Orbitz wait until later before charging the flight?

    • lysie says:

Sorry Jem. I can’t answer that question. We have never used Orbitz .

    • Molly Pitcher says:

No…never used Orbitz…Expedia tho, and if memory is correct, the charge came at booking.

    • Jemian says:

RATSO! The plane tickets have now gone through the account. Oh well. I was hoping ~~ but not expecting ~~ that Orbitz had given my $6.99 (the booking fee) tickets. It would have been like winning the lottery. LOL!

    Morning quote 1:

Coming into the Rio Olympics, Katie Ledecky had left a swim platform a dozen times in finals races at major international meets. Every time she touched the wall first.
Sunday night at Estadio Olympico, Ledecky made it 13 for 13, dominating the women’s 400-meter freestyle as everyone who has paid swimming a moment’s notice the past year knew she would
… Silver medalist Carlin Jazz of Great Britain was nearly five seconds and some 10 meters behind Ledecky

    – WSJ on the amazing Ledecky taking Gold in the 400 m freestyle and smashing the world record by 2 seconds- also M Phelps got #19 Gold in the 4×100 freestyle

    Morning quote 2:

To establish mootness, Judge Sentelle said the IRS had to show there is “no reasonable expectation” that the targeting will happen again and that events since have fully healed the negative effect of the violation. That clearly hasn’t happened

    – WSJ ed. on the 3-0 vote against the IRS appeal.
