  1. The Raven says:

Great football day. Today my Vols have another tough opponent – we play the Bulldogs at 3:30. also today No. 4 Michigan faces test versus No.8 Wisconsin also at 3:30. Clemson via Louisville tonight at 8

  2. Molly Pitcher says:

Oh my…looks like we while be watching Hurricane Matthew in the week ahead. It’s pressure is dropping, it’s already a Cat 4, and the projected path includes s. FL

  3. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • lysie says:

      Jem, congratulations to JT!!!!

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Biscuits! Yay…let me get my bottle of Steen’s cane sugar syrup…..

Good a.m. to you, everyone…off and running ….back later. Hoping the [redacted] get to play some ball tonite, after too many innings lost to rain.

    • The Raven says:

Well, the Dems aren’t taking any chances.
      – Two voter frauds in the news
      Here and here

    • The Raven says:

Ahh…Just saw Jem T. is now Sgt Jem T. Congrats to all!! Is JT a Tiger’s fan as well?

    • The Raven says:

Senate races are real close…probably 50-50 unless the ‘Pubs pick up NC

    • Jemian says:

Thank you for your congratulations. JT who is Staff Sergeant will be, around Christmas time, Sergeant First Class designated thusly, SFG. I tried calling him last night, and got through, which is a small wonder in-and-of-itself. But something was wrong on my end. They could hear me, but only bits and pieces of their convo came through. So, I would say something, he would write the answer. I would respond and he would write his answer.

They seem to be doing well in Seoul, but missing the states. It is the first time the Bride has lived outside the US and there is a bit of cultural adjustment. From the things that are put on FB, it appears they are doing everything right. It just takes time.

And, of course, they are all Auburn fans. It is in the blood.

I got up because hubby woke me up. But, I’m still up because I’m hoping my headache meds will kick in. Every day with this pneumonia, I wake up with excruciating headaches. It takes about 40 minutes to an hour for meds to work and then, life goes on.

    • lysie says:

I pray you will be better real soon, Jem. Take care, rest.

  4. Prairie says:

To get back at Ted Cruz and keep in good standing with the tech giants who support this heinous venture. Now, aren’t these the republicans that we all know and….despise? Pfft!

    Good morning all….

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Never Trump Land…..note that Glenn Beck gets his own bubble…funny

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    – Gary Johnson drawing a blank when asked to name a single foreign leader

  9. The Raven says:

Well…..Boston clinched the East yesterday and all divisions are now clinched. The Yankees are not out of wild card possibilities, but it looks really bad. I am rooting for the two “C’s” the Cubs and the Redacted’s to play in the World Series.

PS: Tim Tebow had his first at bat in the minors

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. The Raven says:

How do we judge a debate that had a biased moderator? Perhaps Trump should practice something like what Cruz did here – although Trump is not skilled at that.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

The second illustration would get Holt’s attention, I think! Very good..

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, Trump would have his own way of doing it…one issue is tho, that Trump himself inhabits the media world. So to some extent he’s going to be blind to their biases, or not want to face them…just an early a.m. thought….

    • edinva says:

I think Trump’s task at the debate was to show he is “presidential,” and that meant to show utter and complete restraint: no bringing up Bill’s piccadillos, no calling on the bias of the moderator, no talking down to Hillary. He accomplished that. I saw someone noted that Hillary won the debate and Trump won the election in that debate. Of course, that remains to be seen. I had hoped he’d crush her mercilessly and that she’d have a meltdown, but that’s just me.

Early am appts. Hope Jemian and lysie are healing well and all are having a good day.

    • The Raven says:

Did you see what happened to Savage? >> LINK HERE I suppose we can now pull liberals off the air willy-nilly. 90% of what they say is gobbly gook.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh Wow…..well, it’s a good wake up call to what’s at stake.

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie. Every bite of that will be delicious.
I just saw a photo of Hillary! in her red pantsuit, mouth wide-open in that way of hers: She’s going to eat us alive. that was my thought.

Well, other than that….how are you feeling this a.m.? My friend who broke both her ankles last June is done with her therapy….will continue to do exercises on her own….complains some of pain, but is ready for the long haul. She had a lot of pins placed in those ankles…bad breaks.

    • lysie says:

I had the staples removed yesterday. Also, the xrays show everything is in order. My complaint is feeling tired.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, that is hard to face when you think of all the things you want to do. (((((lysie))))).

    • The Raven says:

You notice all this liberal gobbly-gook last night? Income inequality, trickle down, tax the rich,
And Lester Holt asks Trump about income inequality as if it is a given that there’s a problem.
He should have told Hold to grab a plane to North Korea.
Or maybe say Lester Holt probably won’t get paid the same as LeBron James if he picked a basketball career.

  13. The Raven says:

No questions on immigration, emails, Benghazi, or the Clinton Foundation but we have the birther story, bankruptcies, tax returns & women issues. That was so obvious. Lester Holt is a weak, weak idiot.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I only caught a few minutes of it near the end, mostly. Reading a few things this morning is making me very gloomy and apprehensive. But I slept well last night, so…..Yes, Holt is coming under fire….

  14. Prairie says:

Good evening everybody. I’m ducking in here, NOT watching the debate but following peripherally on FR and other websites. I decided not to participate in this particular media circus….I already know who I’m voting for.

We received email notification from the park office that a mountain lion has been seen stalking prey in broad daylight and attacked a deer on a driveway and a dog on a porch. Somebody snapped a picture of him/her…’s a big kitty. All this happening about 3-4 miles away. There’s always an adventure up here. The elk were bugling in our meadow this morning….loudly.

Lysie and Jemian prayers lifted for your recoveries.

    • The Raven says:

I watched the first responses and thought Trump was terrible. Just like the Vols game on Saturday — I left and picked up a book. But my wife has it on and it sounds like Trump is getting a second wind.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Here’s a book for you prairie: Beast in the Garden.

Be careful of those mountain lions. Take them seriously.

Not watching the debates either. Need to get some rest tonite…

    • Jemian says:

Thanks for prayers. Currently in bed feeling pretty weak. I tried to watch the debate and keep up with the FR thread. Internet is too slow. I would like some of Hillary pain need. When I cough, I see stars. The headache doesn’t respond to regular pain meds.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

oh Jemian. I sure hope today is better for you….don’t let this political mess interfere with your getting better.

    • Prairie says:

I’m not sure if I mentioned here that while Mr. Prairie’s sister and husband here were we had a bobcat on our driveway. It sauntered away after turning back to look at us staring at it from the porch. It wasn’t nearly as big as the mountain lion, naturally….but still, pretty exiting. Did I mention on this forum that we went to a Wolf Preserve and got to touch some lives wolves? So cool.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

prairie You’ve been giving us interesting wildlife reports…that’s why I suggested you read that book about wildlife in CO…

  15. Molly Pitcher says:

Most will be watching to see what color condiment Hillary will be dressed as tonight. Will she be dressed like Dr. Evil or like a Teletubby

    Hysterical….from a piece at American Spectator….I vote Teletubby….

  16. edinva says:

G’day, all. Amazing you can watch the debate from so far away, Jem. What a world we live in. I suppose we will watch. I wouldn’t mind watching her have a meltdown.

Not to shock anyone, but the editorial board of the WaPo declared that there is “no debate,” that, in fact, Trump is unfit for office. Uh, huh. Who saw that coming?? The Myers/Graham family was smart to get out while the getting was good.

Molly, 17 weeks is starting to sound better and better. Still too much time, but we’re getting there. We hope.

  17. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • tillacum says:

Good Morning Everyone, Good afternoon Jem.
Hillary reminds me of a cornered possum. Whenever she speaks she sounds angry and spits and hisses.
We’re having our gang over tonight, plus a new comer to our little metropolis. Dinner
before then popcorn during the “debate”.
Jem, so sorry you’re suffering low energy and lung problems.
lysie, how is the therapy coming along? I know you feel much better, but still don’t push

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      oh Yum. Good morning everyone.

We may get some showers this a.m.
till I think we will go see “Sully” tomorrow…
So the Hillary! campaign wants a fact checker for Trump tonite. Do we really want more years and years of this kind of trash from these people??? I am putting it nicely, you understand…,

    • The Raven says:

So…this mall thing in Houston is by an Indian. Is he a muslim ? Did anyone ask? Is he an immigrant? Did anyone ask? We don’t have journalists anymore…..

    • edinva says:

maybe they didn’t have that powow yet … har har

  18. The Raven says:

I predict the following for tonight

Hillary: You are a loose canon. You lie.

Trump: Well, isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black. With you we have the facts. It wasn’t bad enough that you wouldn’t defend your own ambassador, that lives were lost. What was bad was you covered it up with a fake video story. The cover up of your email crimes was similar. We can even go back in time – to the travel office, to the white house furniture. To covering up for your husband’s crimes. How can we trust an executive who will purposely lie to benefit herself? How can we believe anything you say?

  19. Jemian says:

I intend on watching it even from here. God is control. He has this.

Now, on to other things, GOOD GOING VOLS! Our finish, as Rave noted, was weird. You have to watch it to believe it. But then, it gets … words fail.

You may remember that we have a tradition of rolling ( others may call it “tp-ing”) certain trees in a certain spot when we win. Everyone gets in on the act and we have a great big block party celebrating the joy of winning.

A few years ago, a particularly disgruntled opponent, we’ll call him HARVEY UPDYKE (because that is his name), was made at losing to us and poisoned those wonderful beautiful oaks. Much effort was made to reverse the effects of spike-80, but in the end, the trees died. They were dug up, removed, and the dirt in the surrounding area was removed and refilled. The poison had affected a large section of land.

New trees were planted and this season the tradition resumed. We won the one game and people celebrated. We won this game and people really celebrated.

Along about 12;30 AM this fool who had moved into the area from Germany, NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY UNIVERSITY HERE, lit the toilet paper on one tree on fire. It was engulfed in flames.

Things do not look good for the brand new tree.

Now, it is a weird tradition we have. But it is harmless. No one gets hurt at these events. And when we win on the road, we do NOT roll other teams’ trees. Just our own trees.

Rhetorical comment: I do not understand the thinking or morality of this type of person. I could understand when a UGA fan tried the same thing. I even understand the hatred of HARVEY UPDYKE. Plus, Updyke has an ugly soul. But, this???????
