Fidel Castro dead at 90.

In other news, Hampshire College, a liberal arts school in Amherst, Massachusetts refuses to fly the American flag in order to bring attention to what they think are important issues…..misogyny and anti-LGBTQ behaviors.

I say defund if they are receiving any taxpayer dollars.

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

The Dems never lose recounts. I’m trying to remember where they lost. Trump should add Minnesota to the list – to scare her.

    • edinva says:

Rav …. D’s have lost a recount right there in WI. They had a recount for a state Supreme Court justice that they lost. And the recall didn’t go well for the anti-Walker folks, either. Don’t despair. I DO find the whole thing disgusting. They’re using Stein as a ‘front’ for HRC since she made so much noise over his comment about accepting the results. Took ’em 2+ weeks to come up with this scam. Those filthy Coie & Perkins attys are in there, I imagine Trump will have to hire really good, no holds barred attorneys as well.

    • The Raven says:

Jem…safe travels. Red eyes are tough!! Auburn and the Vols both lost. Our Vols needed that win for the better bowl eligibility. And their defense has been terrible with a host of injuries to starters and backups….

    • Molly Pitcher says:

The first recount I ever heard of was when I was a small child in Texas, and my father told me how LBJ had stolen his first Senatorial election some years before by finding some small number of votes in a remote w Texas county which took him to the lead…And the rest is history, right?….And some things never change…. I hate the Dem Party.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks and good morning lysie, Raven and all

    • lysie says:

      Can’t you edit, Rav?

    • lysie says:

      Fixed it, Rav.

    • The Raven says:

To add to the worries, both Pa and Wi have left wing radicals for the Secretary of State position

Douglas J. “Doug” La Follette is an American academic, environmental activist, and politician from the state of Wisconsin. A Democrat, he is the current Secretary of State of Wisconsin.

Cortés was the first confirmed Latino Cabinet member and the longest serving Secretary of State in Pennsylvania history.

    • The Raven says:

EdinVA….they have a system….they try to get absentee ballots thrown out (military) and felons included. Then there’s always the big box of paper ballots they find in the back room that somehow wasn’t counted the first time. But they pounce on local officials with accusations of race and whatever else is needed and vote by vote…they get it done. PA’s 70000 is going to be tough, however. They may have to blame the Russians in PA……

      Morning quote:

Mr. Trump received over 62 million votes, not all of them cast by homophobes, Islamaphobes, racists, sexists, misogynists or any other “ists.” I would caution Trump deniers that all of the crying and whining is not good preparation for the coming storm. The liberal media, both print and electronic, has lost all credibility.

Our poor lab doesn’t know where his best friend went. He spends most of the day sulking upstairs.

    • lysie says:

      *sniff* 😦

Dogs are so loyal. Give that sweet one a big hug from me.

    • The Raven says:

Donald Trump has been reading my posts right here on ATRW. Who knew?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      GMTA, Raven.??
Not shrinking from the fray is he? The illegal aspect is what got his campaign going 18 months go, right? The Dems may be sorry they raised the vote issue because of the strong appeal Trump has with the illegal part of it.

    • The Raven says:

Oh, I see…this is the reason.

  2. The Raven says:

Well, well. EdinVA is right. Crooked Hillary is contesting the election. And she must have assurances that the three states will be “fixed” correctly. They were looking at the future of the Supreme Court when they realized they had to do something quickly. Somehow they will find the Russians dabbled with the results and low and behold, the Obama justice department needs to get involved. Soros, Obama, and the 2008 Minnesota vote counting team must also be involved. Lawyers aplenty to challenge everything in local courts. All three States will go for Hillary and an armed conflict will begin

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I went “inside” and saw that it said “2008” already, so just hit the “update” tab. Is this what you wanted Raven? We are doing coffee hour at church this a.m….time to get going.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Now I don’t see your request to fix it…oh well. the day will improve. lol….

    • lysie says:

Ha! I don’t either. Plus, my post where I said I fixed it. Was I dreaming? 😉

    • The Raven says:

Yep…thanks…when you fixed it….I deleted my request and your reply went away as well.

    • lysie says:

Nice to know I wasn’t dreaming while awake. LOL

    • edinva says:

Rav, Just as an FYI re the WI SoS: “Fighting Bob” LaFollette was a Republican/Progressive member of Congress this time last century. He was perhaps the original Republican Progressive. Doug comes by his orientation naturally. He has been WI SoS for 40+ years with a brief 4 year break. So he did oversee all the elections since then including the Walker recall and SupCt recount. Is that a comfort?

Oh, and the White House did put out a statement stating that the election is over, indicating that the recount effort is ridiculous as we all know.

    • edinva says:

I read that dear Jill can’t file a direct recount request in PA, she has to go thru the courts. I can’t remember which deadline is Monday and which on Wednesday (PA/MI). Hillary! would have to prevail in all 3 recounts, if there are 3 recounts, to flip the election. I’d also heard the Promise Keepers were going to challenge the VA results, but nothing since the original statement 2 or 3 days ago as Jill started making noises. I suppose they should but that would mean most likely that I’d have to be involved as I signed off as the R in the precinct where we worked on election day. We DO live in interesting times. Oh, and CNN refers to Trump’s comment about millions voting illegally as “false,” tho how would they know? The sitting POTUS told the illegals it was A-OK to do.

Well, I am ba-la -lu-ing out of here for the rest of the day. Have a good rest of the day everyone.

    • lysie says:

      Excellent. Thanks, Molly.

    • lysie says:

      Idiots all around, Molly.

Compare and Contrast: DONALD TRUMP vs OBAMA on Tyrant Fidel Castro’s Death

Statement by the President on the Passing of Fidel Castro

At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans – in Cuba and in the United States – with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.

For nearly six decades, the relationship between the United States and Cuba was marked by discord and profound political disagreements. During my presidency, we have worked hard to put the past behind us, pursuing a future in which the relationship between our two countries is defined not by our differences but by the many things that we share as neighbors and friends – bonds of family, culture, commerce, and common humanity. This engagement includes the contributions of Cuban Americans, who have done so much for our country and who care deeply about their loved ones in Cuba.

Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.

      And now the truth:

      President-Elect Donald J. Trump Statement

“Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.

“While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.

“Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.”

  3. edinva says:

lysie, re Hampshire College: you can bet if *I* had a kid there, funding would end in a NY minute. The bigger issue really is, what are all these colleges doing to our kids? Most are diploma mills that will issue a piece of paper so long as you meet their outrageous payments, or incur debt your student will have to deal with till s/he is 40, losing years of prosperity. Better most of them go to a trade school and learn how to DO something.

    • lysie says:

      I agree, ed.

Sarah’s first year of college she took current events of biology. The very first day the professor bashed Bush. Sarah was upset so I had a meeting with the professor. She was obnoxious libtard. She had the nerve to ask me , as she stuck her nose in the air, “what level of education do you have?” Whoa baby, that didn’t sit well with me.

Just teach the subject and leave their opinions out.

    • edinva says:

lysie, I hope (for what it would be worth) you reported the prof to the school…. there is an online rating the profs site, too. I’d lambaste her. So outrageous. Back when my daughter was conservative, she also had an experience first day of class with a lib prof bashing Bush. Guess it’s a “thing” in academe? One of the students who knew DD’s then-political persuasion actually apologized to her for the teacher. I think she eventually spoke with the prof and they ended up working well together (and that didn’t affect DD’s politics, that change came much later). That prof at graduation had to give Molly the award for top student in her major. ha!! Actually, the only prof she ever had who she butted heads with over anything political, and who she believes graded her accordingly, was Condi Rice!! Interestingly, I think that experience had more to do with her conversion to the left than anything else.

    • lysie says:

A few years later she was fired , ed. Broke our hearts it did. NOT! LOL

    • edinva says:

She was probably an adjunct prof, lysie, or they couldn’t have dynamited her outta there. There should be a movement among conservatives to find these ideologues before they get tenure. Wonder what she’s doing now? You want fries with that ?

    • The Raven says:

EdinVA…..I saw an update on the 6 electoral faithless voters. It was a fake anti-Trump news story….Politico reports the electors in question are “mostly former Bernie Sanders supporters who hail from Washington state and Colorado,” which means they are Clinton electors. If they prove faithless, it would widen Trump’s margin—not that it matters, for at least 37 Trump electors would have to defect to deny him a majority. Hah !!!

    • edinva says:

OK, Rav, I thought they’d said they lined up 2 R electors. Well, now their last hope seems to lie in WI/MI/PA recounts. And if that doesn’t work … there’s FL/NC… and if that doesn’t work .. they will continue to dig. Have you ever in your life? EVER? seen anything like this. Appalling. I hope the names of the ‘experts’ who inspired the recounts become known far and wide and that when the results are validated, those names become anathema worldwide, synonymous with huckster, and find themselves never hirable again. By anyone.

Oh, and now Marc Elias of Coie Perkins, the attorneys for Dems in election issues, says they will participate in the recounts. At $1000/hour of course they will! They made well over $1M in all the ‘birther’ suits.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

Ba ba lu…yes we can celebrate, and remember all the Castro victims at the same time

    • edinva says:

G’day, again …. saw the Cuban-Americans celebrating in Miami … so well deserved. He put those people thru hell. Alas, they’ve been successful in the USA. Fidel had a (too) long run.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Afternoon ED…hope your after holiday Saturday is going well. I continue to enjoy the Dems’ reactions to Trumps cabinet picks…We could call it, sarcastically of course, the Outrage of the Day!

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.
