America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- November 28, 2016 – December 2, 2016 Remember 9/11

Post election news has taken a new direction with the effort of Stein/Clinton to challenge the Nov. 8 results in 3 states. And Trump in a counter move has re-energized his Twitter account using it to make counter attacks.

I no longer underestimate Mr. Trump and his unconventional way of making political war.

But the week’s Cabinet appointments interest me more when all is said and done.

  1. lysie says:

    Busy day here.

  2. The Raven says:

I still wonder who will pay for Obama’s debts? The WSJ today estimates the cost of O’s government takeover of student debt (or more accurately – buying votes) is $1.2 trillion to the debt and $110 billion a year in cost to the taxpayer. Student loans is a small part of the problem. Add to this Obamacare and the federal reserve daily bailout and it is staggering. Is it possible Obama can set in motion an economic downturn to blame on Republicans? Would he do it?

On the good news side, I’ve been looking at the 2018 Senate races…..the Dems are defending Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and West Virginia. If the ‘Pubs are popular then, the Dems could lose most of them. We could be looking at a Senate majority in the low to mid 60’s. Trump is looking at two current Dem Senators for cabinet picks and the 52R / 48 D could go to 54R /46 D — so only 6 Dems needed for the Supreme Court pick (coming soon from the list )

    Morning quote:

To hell with all these excuses for why illegal immigrants are still crossing our borders in droves. Why they can’t be deported once they’re here, or encouraged to self-deport. We the People don’t have to give You People in Washington reasons why we won’t tolerate illegal immigration any longer, and why we don’t want America to be transformed, by them or by legal immigration, or anything else for that matter. we don’t want any such thing and we are the voters to whom you are constitutionally responsible.”

    – Chilton Williamson Jr., The Ideology of Unrestricted Immigration
On what he thinks the voters are saying through Trump.

  3. Molly Pitcher says:

    Evening everyone…
    Gen. Mattis…SecDef…great.

I’m ok with the Carrier decision and deal. Fine. Longterm, tho, we need policies which are favorable across a lot of business territory: Not these individual deals. I am sure that is what is in the works, and the Carrier deal , post election, was a nice boost & reminder of positives to come, done the right way.

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Already Thurs. …wow…and December, too! double wow.

      Good morning!

    • The Raven says:

Thank you Lysie (I almost typed Nancy)

      Morning quote:

Working hard is in, hardly working is out. In Indiana and the rest of America, happiness just trumped hope.

      – Jonathon Trugman

    • lysie says:

      Excellent quote. Thanks, Rav.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Aw, that is a good quote. Nice.

    • lysie says:

      Good morning Molly and Rav.

      Nancy?? LOL

We will be grocery shopping this morning. There are some excellent sales at a local store. Boneless/skinless chicken breast $1.59 # , seedless grapes 99 cents # gallon of milk $1.79

    • The Raven says:

I was reading below…Nancy Pelosi … while typing……and speaking of Communists, members of the Revolutionary Communist Party are burning a flag outside Trump’s New York hotel.

And here we were told Russia swung the election for Trump. They can’t make up their minds

    • The Raven says:

Oh my …Dec 1 already!!. What is it, Molly? 49 days left until the extraction? Or is it 50? (Do you think they will steal furniture like Hillary? or remove the T from the keyboards?) And one of the senior execs at the Federalist Society has been advising Trump on a Supreme Court pick. It doesn’t get any better than that. I still can’t get over the bullet we dodged – especially the Supreme Court. I was checking some of the older votes in the Senate here. Clarence Thomas was only 52-48 (I thought they needed 60)….and I suppose the 60 vote threshold is only for the filibuster. Another thing I was not aware of is the use of voice vote in the Senate for justices…..the last was Abe Fortas under LBJ.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Actually, I was thinking of Dec. and Christmas, timewise, but your idea works too, of course.
Jan. 20 is a Friday….7 weeks from tomorrow. YAY!
Hope your wallpaper idea works out.

    • Jemian says:

Eight weeks. It seemed as if that day would never get here. Eight weeks. If we can just keep going a little while longer. Eight weeks. What a long, wearisome, loathsome time this has been. Already the sun is a little brighter, the sky is clearer, the blue is bluer and the birds are chirpier. Eight weeks. In the dead of winter, we now have …

We can make it. (For a time it seemed that we wouldn’t.)

    • The Raven says:

Seven weeks, Jem. Seven. (Jan 20). I am trying to make this a wallpaper on my laptop

    • lysie says:

Great if you can do it , Rav.

    • Jemian says:

Oh! I got the 8 weeks figure from the header at the top. I stand corrected.

  5. Molly Pitcher says:

Way to Go, Nancy!! Congrats on your re-election!

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  7. The Raven says:

    Great read – Dennis Prager

PS: I’m up real early here – we have tornado warnings. The dog woke me up.

Also – I was listening to Mark Levin last night. He was raising the warning flag on Trump’s cabinet picks. The Treasury guy is a lefty, Chao is Mitch’s wife, and Price is not a solid conservative. Other than Sessions, there isn’t anyone. He expects more anti-swamp picks like Romney, Corker.

    Morning quote:

“…this is the swamp draining Trump”

    – Mark Levin

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  9. Molly Pitcher says:

Early A.M. good news: Tom Price to be HHS Sec. I heard him interviewed on Bennett’s show so often, and he is strong pro-market health care delivery…strong pro- patient. Very key decision going forward with a conservative, freedom agenda.

    • The Raven says:

Yes…Trump continues with choosing an able person for the job rather than a political choice.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, and…the Pennsylvania RNC head may be next national leader. I never heard of him, but that state was key, so it sounds very positive. Dave Urban is his name.

    • The Raven says:

I guess we can exempt State from the “able and not political” – that Kellyanne Conway tirade at Romney may have been on purpose with a wink from Trump. But we now have John Allison (Treasury???) roaming around the Trump Tower elevators.

  10. Jemian says:

Raven, what is going on in your neck of the woods? I thought I saw that the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge fires were deliberately set. It’s that true? I just can’t imagine the depravity of some people! Prayers for all those involved.

  11. Prairie says:

Raven that article on Castro and Kennedy is utterly fascinating, thanks so much for posting that. I was 7 when Kennedy was assassinated, so I wouldn’t have understood media-types lying and misrepresenting for purely ideological and political reasons. It’s sort of discouraging to realize how long they’ve been at the process of lying to the American people.

Good evening all, hope all here had a Happy Thanksgiving. Ours was fine, we also made a quick trip to the Gulf for grouper and oysters and came home Saturday. On toward Christmas! (yikes!)

  12. The Raven says:

    Another shooting…this time Ohio State

  13. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start , Molly.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Wonderful! Thanks lysie

    • lysie says:

Milder weather with rain for the next few days. I bet all our snow will be gone….I hope.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That would be a good thing, yes. today is turkey soup making day, BUT, having made it, we will go for our twice monthly Monday hamburger special at a local bar…Does that sentence make any sense??!!

    • lysie says:

Makes perfect sense to me. LOL

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, that’s something, then. ‘Tis the Season of Multi-Tasking, you know…not crazy yet, but heading in that direction…

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

For me to say those words would have constituted a type of spiritual suicide. Even though my body was in prison and being tortured, my soul was free and it flourished. My jailers took everything away from me, but they could not take away my conscience or my faith.

      – Armando Valladares – who was jailed for 22 years in Cuba for refusing a sign on his desk that said “I’m with Fidel.” (hat tip WSJ today)

    • tillacum says:

Good morning lysie and Molly. It’s a bit cool down here, in the 50s but will warm up as the day advances.
Never underestimate ole Donald. He’s been working with people like stein and Clinton most of his life, here and overseas. I thought Clinton conceded her run for our Whitehouse. I guess being her, it doesn’t count.
      Good morning Jem.

    • The Raven says:

So far, I’ve seen and heard “no Proof” a gazillion times after Trump’s tweet about illegal voters and nothing like that with the myth that the Russians fixed the election. In Trump’s favor to boot!!

Or how about the reason the third party candidate would call for a recount ? It should be refused based on the 100% waste of taxpayer’s money
What difference does it make at this point? Especially when Obama has declared the election honest.

    • The Raven says:

I just read this link from Powerline on Castro and Kennedy……I completely forgot how the left blamed the right for that.

    • lysie says:

The blame game is getting old….very old.
