America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- January 23, 2017 – January 27, 2017 Remember 9/11

Hello!

It sounds like the U.S. is beginning planning on moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

First full week of the Trump administration: Full Speed Ahead on its legislative agenda according to Kevin McCarthy, House Majority Leader.

Perhaps the markets will respond more positively to stated growth policies. So far the Dow has backed off the 20,000 milestone. It would be nice to break this barrier during this particular week.

Good day, everybody. This is one of those weeks I am so happy to have behind me. Suddenly we were faced with three timed deadlines in 2 different federal courts. And you just don’t miss deadlines or forget to dot your ‘i’s’ etc. And in between a day trip to Richmond. Thank GOD it’s Friday!

SOOOOoooo, we were thrilled to have achieved all three deadlines shortly before midnight last night (Thursday), leaving today free to attend the March for Life. What a moving event! We allowed ourselves to sleep in after unwinding till @ 2am, so didn’t make it to the part where the speakers addressed the crowds, but went to the march up Constitution Avenue. It was totally amazing. Hordes of people, just walking past for about 2 hours or more, from one side of the broad avenue to the other, from the Capitol to the Washington Monument. There were a few also on PA Avenue where the grandstands are still up from last Friday. Oy, what a week for DC cops. Traffic was a total mess, but we took Metro and weren’t affected. BTW, one young girl who was still carrying her “March for Life” sign actually got up and offered this old lady her seat on the Metro.

I am pleased to report I did not see one car burned, any windows smashed, no trash cans overturned, no mountains of trash, either. No spitting on those who might have another view. No lewd signs, and no c-caps. After last Saturday I don’t think I’ll be able to wear pink for some time to come, tho it’s one of my fav colors. Oh, well. Those people destroy everything.

Hope all is well with everyone here. We have mild weather coming up. It’s rained on and off for over a week, sometimes only mist, other times teeming, but no rain or snow in the forecast, and temps in mid to upper 40s and some into 50s. We’ll probably get hit bigly in February. For now I’ll take it day at a time and enjoy relative comfort.

    Good morning everyone.

    Morning Quote:

” … what Mr. Gaziano told Republicans on Wednesday was that the CRA grants them far greater powers, including the extraordinary ability to overrule regulations even back to the start of the Obama administration. The CRA also would allow the GOP to dismantle these regulations quickly, and to ensure those rules can’t come back, even under a future Democratic president. No kidding”

    – Kim Strassel on the little known ability of Congress to eliminate O’s regulations explained by the attorney who wrote the Congressional Review Act.

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

It is refreshing to watch these early days of Trump, isn’t it? Obama and the Dems were (and still are) taking orders from billionaires Tom Steyer and George Soros, Steyer forbid Keystone and Dakota and Soros was the open borders / transgender and a grating anti-everything-American activist. Trump’s billionaires take orders from him

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Plus, in giving those orders, he is carrying out his campaign promises, which he was very clear about…unlike 0 in ’08. Specific promises he made over and over to the people in the crowds he met all along the way across the country.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning lysie, Raven , everyone

    • lysie says:

Good morning Molly and Rav. Woke up around 3 and couldn’t get back to sleep. Pets are taken care of. I’m going back to bed.

    • The Raven says:

I still am in awe with that Podesta emails where they (Dems including Congressmen) were sending Soros a long report on their strategies and results. Like an underling would send the CEO of a company. I didn’t know it was that bad.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Truly scary….the ultimate nightmare…yet the Left is worried about Trump, and was worried about the Koch brothers…

    • The Raven says:

The Dems are secretly discussing what to do when the economy takes off like a rocket. And health care is working. And judges aren’t activists. And immigration is common sense. And we are truly fighting terrorists. And police aren’t harassed. And the dogs of EPA are called off. And justice works again with Sessons.

The resulting actions of a cornered Democrat are truly too scary to contemplate. But they are working on their Plan B as we speak

    • The Raven says:

      Morning quote:

“Now they’re worried about the American taxpayer! They’re not worried about the American taxpayer and all the costs associated with illegal immigration!.
I don’t care if Mexico’s paying for it or not, Build it!”

      – Mark Levin on the Press’ fixation on who’s paying for the wall.

PS: Trump reversed Obama’s last minute cash to terrorists transfer ( link )

    • lysie says:

      Great about the $$$$$, Rav.

Slept for about 45 minutes. I don’t do naps. 😦

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hope you get to sleep better tonite lysie
Watching a lot of empty podiums this week waiting for Trump to appear…I’m beginning to think he runs on 0 Time…oh well…

Out doing errands, I ran into an old acquaintance hadn’t seen for awhile…nice exchange of hugs…such a blessing!

    • The Raven says:

Gigapix pic of Trump crowd here

Mary Tyler Moore, RIP. You made many people laugh.

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good morning and thank you for breakfast lysie

Did you hear something about a gag order that Trump put on the EPA yesterday??Amazing, if true. Hallelujah! The people at that agency must not publicly comment on policies, etc…
Ah….Media Blackout If anyone doesn’t like it, they can always resign….he,he

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Molly. He’s a busy man. So far, I think he’s doing well.

    • tillacum says:

AH, breakfast finally looks pretty good. Still have a deep cough, but the rest of me is much better.
HEE HEE HEE, yep I heard about the EPA being put where they should be, quiet.
Trump also wants only American steel used on the Pipeline. America first…finally!
Rave, when I lived in Germany, I learned their language, in fact it was fun. I don’t understand these foreigners coming here and expecting us to learn their ways instead
of them learning ours. I understand MI is having a bit of a problem with the ME
      immigrants not learning American English.

    • tillacum says:

AH lysie. Finally breakfast looks good. Thank you. I still have a deep cough, but the rest of me is doing fine.
HEE HEE HEE, yep, I heard about the gag order on the EPA. I’ve also heard President Trump wants ONLY American steel to be used on the pipeline. Finally! Americans first.

    • The Raven says:

I’m worried about the US steel edict. It will increase the cost substantially.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That seems to be a problem, yes, about the American Steel only idea. I am pleased with so much of what he has and will likely do, but every once in awhile, there’s a clinker of an idea.

    • The Raven says:

Well, well. The news media to a person were dumping on Trump about his crowd size complaint. The Trump’s were saying the pictures were not taken at the same time. Well, lo and behold, CNN comes out with a new picture.

      BTW…some John Galts amoung us

    • Molly Pitcher says:

And continuing the Colorado – 2/3rds, FYI – wildlife theme from yesterday:
3 mountain lion cubs rest on a deck Only the wacko Lefties in Boulder think this is a good thing……

    • tillacum says:

This country was founded by ENGLISH speaking people. Other nations began coming here later and learned to speak English. The “original” citizens of this nation were required to learn English, so why all of a sudden, Spanish is infiltrating our spoken language. If they want to speak their language, go back to their motherland or speak it in their homes. (We did). My grandparents made sure all of their children went to school in order to assimilate into society, and they were not made American citizens until 1924. This coddling all these “new comers” to speak their language irritates the bloody hell out of me.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

This is a step on the right direction. How you feeling ?
Just got word of the death of another old friend to cancer. That disease takes so many …just terrible.

    • The Raven says:

Till…I remember Johnny Carson once quipped that finally, LA schools were going to teach a second language….English!

I agree with you – the immigrants learning English has worked well in the past. The left wants everybody else to learn Spanish so we can communicate, Both policies involve people learning another language. Which one makes sense?

  7. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  8. lysie says:

What a wonderful article about Trump and Pennsylvania, Molly. Thanks.

My opinion is when a person truly cares , those who really want to listen and understand the sincerity of the caring person will respond in likeness..

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Glad you liked it lysie. Yes, I think Trump got a lot out of all his travels around the country, the connections he made surely impacted him.

    • The Raven says:

In the article the author claims 90000 Dems switched parties to vote for Trump in the Rep. primary. In the Podesta emails, they favored Cruz or Trump as a rival in the general election– I wonder how much of that switchover was ordered by Clinton? If they knew it was grassroots, they would have been worried.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

yes, there was a lot the Clinton campaign didn’t “get”.

  9. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Update: Jem posted on Facebook 10 hours ago. Her internet “is still very unworkable.”

  10. The Raven says:

I wish the protesters had issued a trigger warning. They upset me.
